This classic Deville is the limited production Phaeton model, like the one Ray Liotta drove in the film Goodfellas. The roof, covered with canvas to simulate a convertible, and the locking spoke wheel covers were standard with the Phaeton package as well as the 425 cu. in./ 4 barrel carb engine and the exterior temp gauge monuted on the driver side rearview mirror. This car has not been restored and all the parts, other than normal wear and tear, are original except the new CD/AM/FM audio unit. It rides and drives well and the engine burns cleanly.

Recent work includes 4 new shocks, new tie rods, idler arm, centerlink rod, wiper motor, rebulit transmission, climate control unit and engine air filter. Inspection and emissions are good through May 2015. There is some minor rust on the rear quarter panels and bumpers. This car is my Sunday driver and sometimes shown in local car shows.

Internet research will show prices that range from $1500 in rough condition to $20,000 in pristine condition with low miles.

Cadillac XTS to become Opel flagship sedan?

According to Auto-News.de, Opel is considering using Cadillac's all-new big sedan, the XTS, as the base for its new flagship car, which would likely carry the name Omega.
WorldCarFans.com speculates that Opel could use GM's 3.6-liter direct-injection V6 that generates 304 horsepower or, possibly, a 2.8-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engine that creates 321 horsepower to power the vehicle. The European automaker could even use a 195-horsepower turbocharged four-cylinder engine in this application - fine, since many of Europe's largest sedans are powered by smaller, more efficient engines.
Regardless of power, the Omega could arrive at dealerships by the end of 2013.

Cadillac teases camo'd ELR ahead of Detroit debut

With the 2014 Cadillac ELR being introduced next week at the Detroit Auto Show, General Motors has revealed another picture of its luxury range extended electric vehicle. Last month, we saw a dark, teaser photo showing some of the body detail for the electric coupe, but this recent photo shows the Cadillac in full camouflage testing in California back in September.
If this car looks familiar, it's because our spy shooters got a jump on GM by catching the car in action and providing pictures from all angles. There are still no official details for the ELR yet aside from the fact that it will share the Voltec system with the Chevrolet Volt, but we'll finally see the car unveiled in Detroit a week from today.
