Hello and Thank You for viewing my auction. Up for bids is a 1969 Convertible Cadillac. I purchased this vehicle to restore and when it arrived it was completely misrepresented and I am listing it here as a parts car. I do however have a title(1 owner). He filled in my information under the buyer section so if anyone is planning on fixing this car and would like a title there will be a $100.00 additional fee added to tthe highest bid so I can go and pay the taxes and get a title in my name that I could then transfer to you. Here is some interesting history on the vehicle. It was purchased new in Michigan and kept in the same family it's entire life. I have the original "cancelled" title for this vehicle and the current "2007" title for this vehicle. In 2007 the parents sold the vehicle to their son. This was a beautiful vehicle...a long time ago! A rare yellow with white top and white interior and a fully loaded car. I have the original bill of sale and a bunch of other paperwork for the vehicle that is yours if you want it as well. Now lets get to the vehicle... The interior is completely stripped other than a few wire harnesses and the steering column and some other behind the dash components. The floor pan was actually in decent condition with exception of underneath the rear seat where the water would puddle from the convertible top leaks. The front windshield still looks good. The convertible top frame was working perfectly until this morning when someone came over and purchased the convertible top pump. The header panel of the frame has some rust. These frames are worth a fortune especially a complete one like this(only missing the pump). People shorten, lengthen, widen and customize the frames to use on their custom chop top cars. Other than the hood and the trunk which are decent...the rest of the body is bad. Doors and rocker panels and lower front fenders(near doors) are actually not too bad. The rear quarters are bad. The frame is junk...has some spots rotting out. The car still starts and moves and stops and steers(complimentary pair of vice grips for a steering wheel). I did not want to sell off any of the drivetrain parts because I wanted to keep it running because this is the real value in this vehicle for someone looking for a hotrod, ratrod or custom drivetrain with power! Under the hood the items that are missing are the wiper motor assembly the horns, cruise control, air cleaner assembly, valve cover breather, coolant overflow bottle. Underneath the car the only thing gone is the fuel tank. There are no keys and I have it starting on the steering column or with 2 wires from starter. There is a small gas can to get it running to get it on a truck or trailer. The front seat is the spare tire and another tire for the backrest. The car only had 97,000 original miles and the engine sounds very healthy and was really taken care of. This pretty much sums it all up. You get a complete running 472 motor with transmission and rear end and all the brakes and hardware and all the suspension and so forth. You get a convertible top frame you can sell. A windshield you can sell. You get a few other parts you can take off to sell and when your done you can scrap the big heavy beast for a bunch of money! If you are planning on restoring it...hopefully you have a complete 69 or 70 2 door hard top sitting around that you could build a convertible out of...and you will also need a lot of money and a lot of patience! If you are looking to have an excuse to get out of the house to get away from your wife....this is the project for you. If you are looking to get divorced....this project may do this as well:) If you have any other questions please do not hesitate to ask. One question I get all the time is "will this car make it to my house in wherever?"...well we know the answer to that one with this car..... :) I guess it could be possible and you would probably become famous or in jail for a long time.... It would be all daylight driving...an umbrella...many gas cans...a lot of bungee cords and duct tape and ??? I will consider BUY IT NOW prices too. Happy Bidding!!

Lincoln hijacks Cadillac's 'Dare Greatly' tagline
Tue, Feb 24 2015Talk about comedy - not even 24 hours after Cadillac teased its CT6 while inviting us to "Dare Greatly" during the Oscars telecast, Lincoln was doing the same but on Google. An anonymous tipster informed us the day after the Oscars that typing "dare greatly" into Google returned two ads before the search results. When we checked it over the course of a few hours, the first ad was always for Cadillac and either read, "Cadillac - Dare Greatly - Only those who dare drive the world forward," or, "Cadillac - Dare Greatly - It's not the critic who counts, it's the man in the arena." (On a side note, come on, Cadillac - "the man in the arena?" Well. It's a quote. Suppose that's all right, then.) The second result was for Lincoln and read, "Dare Greatly - It's not about making a statement, it's about doing what you love," with the associated URL being www.lincoln.com/dare+greatly. The first time we clicked it, it went to the Lincoln homepage showing the 2015 MKZ Hybrid. The second time, we got a page saying that the Lincoln site wasn't available; the Lincoln site was fine, the link didn't work. There's no reference to the Google joke at the Lincoln site - this was just about getting eyeballs. The English have the perfect phrase for Lincoln's provocation: "You've got some cheek!" We think it cunning, dastardly, and funny, and there's no doubt it worked - they knew people would flock to search the term. One of our competitors, Autotrader, said that within an hour of the first of four Cadillac spots airing during the Oscars, car searches for Cadillac vehicles climbed 53 percent from pre-Academy Award coverage levels. Searches for Cadillac cars were up 120%, they said. If this is Round One of our homegrown scrappy old-timers going at it, we're all for it. Seinfeld and Don Rickles stretch out in classic Caddy for latest CiCGC
Thu, 04 Jul 2013It's no surprise that for the newest episode of Jerry Seinfeld's Comedians in Cars Getting Coffee, airing for the first time on the 4th of July, that a couple of American classics are involved. You'll Never Play the Copa unites Seinfeld with legendary curmudgeon Don Rickles, driving around in a stunner of a 1958 Cadillac Eldorado Seville in Gleneagles Green (upholstery wrapped in Grandma-spec plastic, of course).
Mr. Rickles really steals the show in this one - maybe our favorite CiCGC to date - though the Eldorado plays a strong-jawed costarring role, for sure. Stories about Ronald Regan, Frank Sinatra, Billy Graham and, of course, Herkie Styles are more than worth the price of admission. Check it out below.
Top horsepower-per-dollar cars in 2017
Tue, Feb 17 2015Bang for the buck. That quasi-scientific statistic is bandied about by motor heads everywhere from classrooms to barrooms, though the truth of the matter is that it's exceedingly complex to measure. A fair performance-per-dollar index would include something like cross-referencing MSRP (Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price) with point-to-point times on a track or driving route, which is obviously hard to do comprehensively. But, for the sheer joy of talking about cars and playing with a big spreadsheet, there's always the horsepower-per-dollar index, which is more straightforward, albeit hilariously flawed. There are vagaries even with this simple formula, of course: MSRP for vehicles can change at a moment's notice, to say nothing of the bottom-line shifting that happens with local deals or showroom negotiation. For this list we're running with the straight MSRP wherever possible, and as recently reported as we can get it. All the vehicles on this list are 2017 models, and all trims are reported where the lowest price and differing power levels intersect. Some choices were made for personal preference and some for sanity, avoiding things like all 48 trim levels of the Ford Transit, all with the same horsepower). If this list were a simple top ten, or even a top fifty, you'd be bored to tears with all the red, white and blue that is represented. Following perfectly with conventional wisdom, American cars really do lead the world where hp/$ is concerned. So, for the sake of variety (and the sheer joy of seeing a minivan 'win' one round of this thing) I've sorted out some top five and bottom five lists for broad power categories. Let's dive in. Less Than 100 Horsepower Okay, okay, this is hardly a category we'll grant you. But we've often tried to click off all the sub-100-hp cars on sale in the US, and making this list gave us an excuse. It also illustrates that none of these smallish vehicles bring cheap horsepower to the table - for that you'll need a motorcycle. The segment-leading Chevy Spark (above) asks just over $139 for each hp, and that Smart Fortwo Electric Drive has hp on sale for about the same price as its very distant family cousin, the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG (insert your favorite Smart joke here... we know you want to).
