1965 Cadillac Coupe de Ville for sale. Please read carefully to save us all trouble.
THE BANK HAS THE TITLE. ONCE LOAN IS PAID OFF, BUYER WILL GET THE PINK SLIP. THERE ARE A FEW WAYS TO HANDLE THE TITLE ISSUE, BUYER AND I CAN DISCUSS WHICH WAY IS THE BEST WAY TO HANDLE THIS INCONVENIENCE. This '65 CAD is in really nice condition. I would call it a very nice driver. Its not a show car, but this driver turns heads and gets thumbs up every place i go. All the power features work with the exception of the clock. Power seat, power windows, power antenna, and climate control does work. Air conditioner does work and does blow cold. A Retro radio was installed and is equipped with blue tooth along with various auxillary connections. this radio is tasteful and sounds great without being over the top. A modern light bar was installed and adds a vintage look to the car while the radio is on. Two 6x9's were intalled on the rear speaker panel, a 4x10 split speaker was intalled in the front dash, a 10" woofer and amp were installed in the trunk. this stereo system sounds great and doesnt rattle. I didnt want an elaborate stereo, i only wanted modern day perks with a great sound. This interior is mostly Original. i would rate it at 8.5 for being almost 50 years old. I replaced the carpet with Aqua Marine carpet that looks great. The steering wheel shows wear but is still nice. The tilt and telescoptic still work great. There are 2 small cracks on the dash but arent bad. I had 3 seatbelts installed in the rear for proper safety for my children. I tuck the seat belts away when i cruise by myself. All lights and indicators work through out this car. I had Vi Air Ride intalled on this car for a smooth ride and to lay on the ground when she is parked. The air system is equipped with a remote control and the switches are tastefully placed in the glove compartment. I didnt want any holes placed anywhere on or in the dash. The brakes were gone through along with all the suspension components. What ever needed to be repaired or replaced was done so accordingly. It all works great. Chrome is nice, i would rate it all very nice driver quality. Paint was resprayed sometime ago and looks nice especially with some wax and a little elbow grease. Car comes with the original wheels and wheel covers. I also have a set of '57 Cadi repop wheel covers that look great . Tires have good tread but the white walls are cracking but still look very nice. these tires sat in my garage for a while but still have thousands of miles left. The 429 motor and 400 TH tranny are original and in great working order. Starts up everytime with no issues. Tranny shifts smoothly with no issue. Never runs hot! The transmission mount was recently replaced. There are many records that will go with this car along with receipts. Odometer shows 65.5k miles. i dont know if thats original miles or not. based on the interior, i'd say that is an accurate number, but i wont garauntee the mileage. This '65 has dual exhaust with Smitty's mufflers and chrome tips. This car sounds nice without being annoying. AT some point, this car was a member of the "La Salle" Cadillac car club. The only importance for this info is that this car is very original with the exception of the upgrades that i have added. This is a great car and the next owner will have a great car that can cruise anywhere. Bid with confidence. Im an honest guy that needs to sell this car to make room for my next project. im not desperate so dont expext a lowball price. the car is fairly priced and im motivated. Make me an offer!! i know the title issue is an inconvenience, thats why im ready to hear a reasonable offer. but if your patient and can wait for the title, im willing to work with you on a price. Just dont get crazy. This car is turn key. There is no warranty stated or implied. i can store the car for a bit, while buyer works out shipping at his /her expense. If any questions please ask. The car is listed locally and i reserve the right to end this auction at any time. Automatic 500$ deposit at the close of the auction. |

Cadillac adds torque-number badging to most new models starting in 2020
Thu, Mar 14 2019Few phrases describe huge swaths of America better than a phrase spotted on the back of a top-fuel dragster at an NHRA event: "You can never have too much horsepower or ammunition." If Cadillac CEO and wily Canuck Steve Carlisle has his way, the revised phrase would substitute "torque measured in Newton-meters" for "horsepower." Starting with the 2020 model year, America's luxury brand will add torque figure badges to CT and XT models, beginning with the XT6. The badge above kinda almost sorta represents the torque produced by the luxury crossover's 3.6-liter V6. That badge did not appear on the XT6 we photographed at the Detroit Auto Show. In U.S. parlance, twist in the XT6 comes to 271 pound-feet. Translated to Newton-meters, that's 367 Nm. Then round that up to the nearest 50, which Cadillac will do, and one arrives at 400. True, the rounding prevents a future of number jumbles like the 2020 XT6 367 vs. the 2021 XT6 419T. Nevertheless, we don't know why Cadillac is rounding to the nearest 50 instead of the nearest 25, since 50 Nm is about 37 lb-ft and could conceal a decent torque increase between model years. A "T" denotes turbocharging, and we imagine there'll be designations for hybrids and electric cars. We think most modern attempts at engine-based nomenclatures soon get as complicated as ciphers or come unmoored from their original scheme. And based on our experience with The Average Car Buyer, they don't care. A bigger number, no matter what that number represents, means more, which is the important thing. Because America, right? Maybe not. Carlisle said, "We're not talking about displacements any more," and the new badging will give consumers "a clear understanding of the power differences across the lineup." The brand believes torque provides a better comparison between ICE, hybrid, and EV powertrains and "the balance between fuel economy and performance." As for the immigrant unit of measurement, Carlisle told CNET, " It's metric, it's universal, it's global, we have to think about all the markets that we're doing business in." Oh, and, "Engineers certainly prefer Newton-meters." The new nomenclature will not be applied to V-series models or the Escalade, because the CEO holds that "special cars get special names." We should probably take a moment to reassure the CT and XT models that Steve Carlisle thinks you're all special, too. Just a different kind of special.
Jay Leno welcomes a 2016 Cadillac CTS-V into the garage
Tue, Nov 17 2015After checking out a multitude of classic cars and customs over the past few weeks, Jay Leno switches things up with a modern performance machine in the latest video from the garage – a 2016 Cadillac CTS-V. Leno is curious about Caddy's attempt to challenge the BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG S, and he takes a long, technical look at the sedan with chief engineer David Leone. Not content to just peek under the hood, Leno puts the CTS-V up on the rack to see what it packs underneath the svelte body. Once he gets the lowdown on the Caddy's engineering, it's time for a drive. Leno also flexes his interviewing skills while behind the wheel and gets even more info about the CTS-V's capabilities from Leone. He seems fairly impressed, but Leno's most entertaining question about the 640-horsepower sedan is whether it can do a burnout. He provides a definitive answer to that at the end of the clip.
