She's been around the block a few times. Looks great from a distance, flaws up close. (Like me! lol) Several chips and scratches. Was repainted about 20 years ago, taken to the bare metal. It's ready for paint again. Engine was rebuilt about 15 years ago. Could use brakes. Will go into more detail below."

Have owned this beauty for approximately 20 years.  Found her in a machine shed in a cemetery in LaSalle, IL.  The owner was a trucker named Numerio (wore a weird pony tail on the TOP of his head) and had many, many Caddy's in that building.  Sadly I didn't opt for the convertible!  Drove it right out of the shed.  I love this car.  My email is actually Cadillacbaby59.  I owned this with my exhole.  We also owned a dozen other cars at the same time.  When I opted to leave this man I took the 59 and 62 with me.  Sold the 62 but have kept the 59.  I've viewed it as a 'trophy' of sorts, for putting up with him.  Knowing he'd be jealous that it was mine and not his.  Well, I'm over it now and am realizing the car is going to waste sitting in the garage.  The car deserves a fresh owner.  One who will spruce her up and actually use her.  Did I mention her name?  Her name is FINESSE.  I find it fits the car perfectly. Will be using this money for a down payment on a new house.  I know you really could care less about all of this but it makes me feel better telling you.  This car made me feel special.  I was 'known' for this car.  You couldn't go ANYWHERE without admirers coming up and talking to you.  From the old timers to the youngsters.  Everyone seems to appreciate it's beauty.  Ok, I'm done, now on to the specifics.

Most is self explanatory by looking at the photos.  Cracked dash. Some hazing on the bottom of the window glass. Cracked backseat passenger window. The proverbial broken horn ring.  The seats are in great condition.  Headliner is stained but not ripped.  Runs and drives.  Needs new brakes (right front caliper froze open). The right front fender and bumper are very slightly misaligned when the accelerator stuck in the below zero weather and it hit the garage (only 1-2 feet away). (The ex stupidly wanted to move it to the back garage in the dead of winter, ugh).   The 390 was rebuilt approximately 15 years ago and hasn't been driven over 500 miles since.  The odometer is broken.  The speedometer goes back and forth til you reach about 50 mph.  The gas gauge seems to run the opposite.  Just part of owning an old car and your fella wasn't a handy guy.  The scratches on the passenger side door is from my wheelchair scraping it while getting in. Comes with the original hubcaps.  The car comes "as is".

I think I will end it here.  If you have questions I will do my best to answer them.  All I know is when riding in this car I felt like the coolest chick on earth.  It's THAT awesome.

2021 Cadillac Escalade's EPA highway fuel economy is worse than before

Thu, May 14 2020

EPA fuel economy estimates for the 2021 Cadillac Escalade are out, and the news is mostly not good. The redesigned SUV sees slim to no improvement in the Feds' city ratings, and its highway numbers are considerably worse than before. These are estimates for the standard 6.2-liter V8. Figures for the no-cost-optional 3.0-liter turbodiesel six have not been released yet. Specifically, the rear-wheel-drive 2021 Escalade has estimates of 15 mpg city, 20 mpg highway, and 17 mpg combined. Compared to the outgoing 2020 version, powered by the same 6.2L V8, those numbers represent a 1 mpg improvement in city (the lone piece of good news) but are 3 mpg worse on the highway. With all-wheel drive, the 2021 Escalade can't even get out of the teens, with EPA ratings of 14 mpg city, 19 mpg highway, and 16 mpg combined. That's the same city rating as before and a 2 mpg decline versus the 2020 model's highway rating. For further comparison, cross-town rival Lincoln's Navigator with its 3.5-liter turbo V6 manages 16 mpg city and 22 mpg highway (RWD) and 16/21 with AWD. No one expects an ultra-large, body-on-frame, three-row SUV to achieve Prius-like levels of fuel efficiency, but it's pretty rare these days to see such backsliding with a fresh redesign. Here's hoping the diesel variant will have a happier story to tell. Related Video:

GM CEO to meet with U.S. lawmakers over job cuts

Fri, Nov 30 2018

WASHINGTON — General Motors Co Chief Executive Mary Barra plans to visit Capitol Hill next week to discuss the company's plans to halt production at five plants in North America next year and cut up to 15,000 jobs, two congressional aides said on Friday. GM has come under harsh criticism from lawmakers from both major political parties, and from President Donald Trump, since Monday when it announced the biggest restructuring for the U.S. No. 1 carmaker since its bankruptcy a decade ago. Barra is expected to meet with lawmakers from Michigan and Ohio, where GM plans to shutter three plants, as well as senior leaders in Congress. GM did not immediately comment. Barra has been calling lawmakers this week to explain the decision to end production. Trump has threatened to revoke subsidies for GM. The Detroit automaker plans to halt production next year at three assembly plants: the Lordstown small-car factory near Youngstown, Ohio; the Detroit-Hamtramck complex in Detroit; and the Oshawa, Ontario, assembly complex near Toronto. It will also stop building several models now assembled at those plants, including the Chevrolet Cruze, the Chevrolet Volt hybrid, the Cadillac CT6 and the Buick LaCrosse. Additionally, GM plans to shutter the Warren transmission plant outside Detroit and a plant that makes electric motors and drivetrains outside Baltimore, Maryland. The Cruze compact car will be discontinued in the U.S. market in 2019, although GM may continue building it in Mexico for other markets, Barra said. Reporting by David Shepardson. Related Video:

This dream home theater and office happens to be in a Cadillac Escalade [w/video]

Need to take a ride cross country in the lap of luxury while still getting some work done? Short of a tour bus, the Concept One Curve from Lexani Motorcars might be one of the most comfy options imaginable. Lexani is usually known for creating opulent armored vehicles, but for the Concept One Curve it focuses on converting a 2015 Cadillac Escalade into a place for work or play. The company strips out the standard passenger compartment to install a higher ceiling with LED lighting, two leather-upholstered power captain's chairs and jump seats. However, the real highlight is a 48-inch curved 4K television mounted against the driver's partition. Don't worry about missing your favorite shows because there's a TracVision Satellite, too. The driver gets a re-covered seat of their own up front. If business needs to get done, the vehicle also includes a Mac Mini computer, tables stowed in the seats and connections for video conferencing. Of course, if you're riding in something this lavish, security might be a concern too. In addition to the window shades, the Concept One Curve features cameras to know what's going on outside. A touchscreen management system lets occupants control the whole setup from the luxurious chairs. Lexani claims that if all of this somehow isn't enough for a buyer, it offers even more options to fit their needs. Scroll down to watch a video tour and read more about this rolling home theater. {C} Lexani Concept One Curve Lexani Motorcars, a boutique luxury conversion company receiving vast international praise, has produced the Concept One Curve - the world's first 2015 Escalade with a built-in 48" 4K Technology Curved Smart TV. Lexani Motorcars is constantly pushing the boundaries of possibility for luxury transportation in everyday vehicles. The Curve is a revisited version of their latest model, the Concept One, with a television upgrade and electronic rear curtains; it is unmatched in its ability to be a premier theater one minute and a five-star mobile office the next. The curved smart TV-which rests on a proprietary electronic partition-is indeed impressive, but it is just one of the numerous amenities this discreet masterpiece boasts.
