Here is a 1959 Cadillac Coupe DeVille (2 door) selling at no reserve. The car is showing 28,176 miles, which I assume is 128,176. It has the original 390 V-8 with the automatic transmission. The car is black with the original black and white interior with solid floorboards and undercarriage. This is an excellent candidate for high point restoration, hot rod or anything in between. The car was originally white.
This car has sat for quite a while (indoors) and the engine has the intake manifold off, although I have all the parts. The front driver side fender is bent upwards just a little and is interfering with opening the drivers side door (the door can still open). There are three areas on the body that have been repaired (lower fenders, see photos). Other than those issues, the car is in all around good, but unrestored condition with everything there and complete. The fenders and wheel wells are solid. The car is loaded with features not seen on most 1950's cars. These include
Factory Air Conditioning
Power Seats
Power Windows
Power Trunk Closure.
The dash has some cracks and a fitted dash cover is in place (this comes right off, see photos with and without)
The car is located in Petersburg, MI and is available for inspection at any time before the auction is over. I would encourage you to come and look at it if you live close enough so that you're satisfied with what you see and are comfortable bidding.
This has a clear California title. The car still has the CA black plates, although they are expired.
PAYMENT AND SHIPPING: I'll need to be payed in full within a week. Cash, Money Order, Western U, Personal Check (I'll have to wait a day or so for this to clear), even Paypal (I'ld prefer not Paypal, since they take a percentage, but if that's what you want to use, I can live with it). The buyer is responsible for pick-up or shipping. If it's going to take a while to arrange, that's OK, I can put it in dry storage here, it's not in my way if it's going to take you a bit to pick it up. I have an open flat bed trailer and can deliver it within a reasonable distance for a reasonable charge (say $1/mile for however far Mapquest says it is) and would consider delivering it over long distance at this rate if you can work with me on schedule. If you're at a loss about shipping, I've used UShip.com in the past with good results.

Jeff Gordon will come out of retirement to race new Cadillac endurance racecar
Thu, Dec 1 2016Jeff Gordon is not a man who takes well to retirement, apparently. That's not a surprise at all, given that we've been talking about his return to racing since almost the minute he retired in the first place. This year, he's taken the wheel for Dale Earnhardt, Jr., who is recovering from a concussion, several times already. So we shouldn't be too surprised to find out he's officially coming out of retirement – the twist is that it won't be in a stock car. Gordon has signed onto Wayne Taylor Racing, Motorsport.com reports, and he'll join Ricky and Jordan Taylor as well as Max Angelelli. Their ride will be the newly-revealed Cadillac DPi-V.R racer, a Dallara-chassis car powered by a 6.2-liter pushrod V8 loosely related, Cadillac claims, to the engine in the current CTS-V. You can read all about the DPi-V.R right over here. Remember, Gordon has a total of 93 NASCAR wins to his name, as well as four titles. He knows his way around Daytona pretty well, too, having won the 500 three times. He's also dabbled in endurance racing once before, in the 2007 24 Hours of Daytona with Taylor, Angelelli and Jan Magnussen in a WTR Riley-Pontiac car. They ended up on the podium, so you can say Gordon's inaugural and only outing in endurance racing so far was a success. It's been a decade, so we'll see if he's rusty, although knowing about how competitive champions are, we think he'll blow out the cobwebs and get right down to work. You can read Gordon's statement over at his personal site. Related Video:
Cadillac CT6 styling will be evolutionary, not like Elmiraj
Wed, Dec 17 2014Well, this is at least a little disappointing. It turns out Cadillac's long-awaited flagship, the CT6, won't be ushering in a wholesale change in the company's design. That's coming from GM Design guru Ed Welburn, meaning it should be taken as gospel (unless of course he's just trying to hoodwink us). "It'll be different and it will certainly stand out in the portfolio," Welburn told Automotive News. "But you won't see a real shift in direction." Instead, Art and Science will be shown in yet another new form, and will "continue to evolve," according to Welburn, although what that means is unclear. What we can say for certain, though, is that Art and Science on the CT6 will not evolve into the stunning Elmiraj Concept. "I think Elmiraj was more of an influence on some other things we're working on for Cadillac," Welburn said, we're guessing with a smirk and an air of mystery. Considering we have yet to see the CT6, it's hard to tell whether this will be good news or bad, although based on the critical reception to the Elmiraj, we're a little bit disappointed by Welburn's statements. Still, only time will tell whether the styling of the CT6 will really work out.
GM To Offer Car That Will Almost Drive Itself
Mon, Sep 8 2014Cars that can talk to each other and almost drive themselves at freeway speeds are just two years away from the showroom, according to General Motors executives. The company announced Sunday that the semi-autonomous system for freeways will be an option on an unidentified new 2017 Cadillac that goes on sale in the summer of 2016. In addition, another 2017 Cadillac, the CTS, will be equipped with radio transmitters and receivers that will let it communicate with other cars, sharing data such as location, speed and whether the driver is applying the brakes. The announcements were made Sunday at the opening of the Intelligent Transportation Society World Congress being held in Detroit this week. They are part of a barrage of similar declarations that are expected from other companies throughout the week as the industry shows off progress toward self-driving and safer cars. The freeway system, dubbed "Super Cruise," uses cameras and radar to keep the car in the center of a lane and also stay a safe distance behind cars in front of it. The system will bring the car to a complete stop if traffic halts without driver action, and it can keep the car going in stop-and-go traffic. Other automakers, such as Mercedes-Benz, now offer similar systems that work at low speeds, but GM says it's the first to announce a system that operates at highway speeds. Others could have freeway systems in two years, though. "If the mood strikes you on the high-speed road from Barstow, California, to Las Vegas, you can take a break from the wheel and pedals and let the car do the work," CEO Mary Barra said in remarks prepared for the conference's keynote address on Sunday. But GM said the car still won't drive itself, and the company is working on a system to monitor drivers to make sure they're still paying attention. Details of that system weren't released. "Sensing technology is not yet to the point where the driver can check out," said John Capp, GM's director of global safety strategy. "This is a level of automation that can be done, that is feasible." The new Cadillac that will get Super Cruise hasn't been officially announced yet. But executives have hinted that GM will build a big rear-drive Caddy to lead its lineup in the coming years. Also Sunday, the Michigan Department of Transportation announced that it will partner with GM, Ford Motor Co.
