If you were at the Spring Grand Rod Run in Pigeon Forge this past weekend you may have seen this car cruising the strip. I've had no trouble with the car mechanically since the generator was rebuilt two weeks ago. The car was very popular among the crowd and was the only pink Cadillac at Rod Runs. I am listing this car for my uncle. He has restored the car and says that it is still not entirely finished. This was originally purchased new here in town by a local lady that was very well known. The local newspapers are doing a story on it for being the 'first pink Cadillac' in town that was bought new for cash by a local bootlegger. Please no spam and only serious inquiries!! He describes as follows: The car has just over 45,000 original miles on it. The engine, tranny, brakes, body, interior .. pretty much the entire car has been redone, ALL of the power windows work as does the seat also!!! The color is original Dusty Rose Pink from Cadillac and fabric are back to as it was in 1957 when it was bought new. He says it still needs some finishing and it is not a show car, but a great candidate. This car turns heads everywhere he drives it. The car still needs.. some paint touch up, signal lights aren't working, detailing, the rear bumper and tail fin crests are redone and sharp, but other pieces will need some more chroming to be show quality. One door panel was never finished due to a negligent upholstery shop, but the panel is there and on the car, and extra SMS original OEM fabric is included for finishing. The front windshield has a straight crack down.. as he tells me is common to these cars. Some door glasses were recut and replaced, but not all. "J" seals were never installed. The "V"s weren't replaced with new ones, just put on for driving purposes. Door sills were not replaced either. The GOOD is that the engine was completely rebuilt with everything new or reconditioned by machine shop (around 3000) and runs as it should. The water pump, starter and carb were all replaced or rebuilt. Fuel tank was relined with liquid sealer from Kanter Auto and all fuel lines, and fuel pump was installed new. All the brakes are new. The interior redone all but the one door panel, including headliner, seats, carpet, and kick panels. The seats were redone with Oem fabric from SMS so the car looks like it did when bought! New trunk and door rubber. This car is being driven, and has receipts from all the way back to 1957. NOTE!!! The car comes with two types of ownership papers, the ORIGINAL bill of sale from the local dealership.. which is signed by the original owner, AND the matching tag receipt and tag from when the car was placed in storage in 1971. He says that if a current title is needed, he can easily do so, but he feels that will severely diminish the value of the car! That's where it stayed until the original owner passed away in her 90s over 14 years ago. That's when my uncle purchased it and it has been under restoration ever since. He is currently having health issues and the car has to go. He says he invested almost 23,000 dollars in it and HUNDREDS of man hours, but the car has to go!! So make offers, and if you're a serious buyer, you may end up taking this gorgeous piece of history home!!! There is a lot more I'm sure you'll need to know that I can't answer, so CALL the owner!! This car is a surprisingly preserved documented piece of Americana! The ORIGINAL pink Cadillac Coupe Deville! I have told you everything he told me about this car. Sunday Drive: An automotive flavor for every taste
Sun, Feb 25 2018Last week was flush with interesting new vehicle debuts, led by the new 2019 Hyundai Santa Fe. This crossover is entering straight into the heart of one of the world's most competitive automotive segments, and it's doing so with a fresh sense of style and a brace of new technologies. Our readers are clearly intrigued – the Santa Fe was the biggest news story of the last week on these online pages. It's fitting that a crossover generated a lot more interest than a traditional wagon, though we don't really have to be happy about it. Still, the completely new, fully redesigned Volvo V60 is worth taking another look at. First of all, it's pretty, in a traditionally Scandinavian way. Second, it's quick, with a 0-60 time of as little as 4.8 seconds. And finally, it's practical, with all kinds of room for cargo without the dynamic penalties of an unnecessary lift kit. Moving on from new vehicle debuts, we took another long look at the Honda Ridgeline. It's definitely a non-conformist pickup truck, based not on a body-on-frame platform but on a more carlike unibody design. That means it can't tow as much as some other trucks, but it also means the Ridgeline drives better than any of its more truckish competitors. It's the Swiss army knife of pickup trucks. Rounding out our coverage from last week are three sets of spy photos, each showing the interior of a hotly anticipated new model. One is a truck, one is a crossover, and the last is a sportscar. All of them are worth another look. Cadillac Lyriq EV debut delayed by Covid-19 virus
Tue, Mar 10 2020The, coronavirus, otherwise dubbed Covid-19, has claimed another large gathering. General Motors canceled the public debut of its coming Cadillac Lyriq crossover, planned for April 2 in Los Angeles, due to fears over the continued spread of the virus. With more than 14 confirmed cases of residents with Covid-19, Los Angeles declared a state of emergency last week. Michael Albano, a communications director at GM, said in an e-mail to The Verge that "Our top priority is the safety of our media guests and employees." At the time of writing there's no word on a potential new date for the reveal for the highly anticipated crossover that GM just announced last week at a private event in Warren, Michigan. However, the automaker provided Autoblog with a statement that read, in part, "Please know we are working to reschedule the reveal as soon as possible." What we know about the Lyriq is just as compelling as what we don't know. There XT5-sized people hauler will be out to dazzle in every way, with a ton of weight on its shoulders — many will be judging GM's and Cadillac's past and claimed preparedness for the future based on this one offering. The Lyriq will be the first GM EV to sit on a new EV architecture the engineers call BEV3 and the marketers call Ultium, with battery capacities up to 200 kWh and a potential range of 400 miles. Speaking of which, GM just applied to trademark the term Tecra with the US Patent and Trademark Office, so we could be in for more information on innovative battery systems in the not-too-distant future. The automaker could forgo a public debut for the time being and opt to livestream the event. Or, who knows, it's possible the Detroit Auto Show just garnered itself a whopping debut for the show's debut event in June; the first rendering of the Lyriq aired at last year's Detroit show. 2017 Cadillac CT6 Plug-In Hybrid Drivers' Notes Review | Seamlessly green
Fri, Jan 5 2018In many ways, the Cadillac CT6 Plug-in Hybrid is the most interesting car the brand sells. Despite having a turbocharged four-cylinder hybrid powertrain, it makes the most torque of any CT6, even the twin-turbocharged V6 model. It also has a claimed electric range of 31 miles and can still manage a combined fuel economy of 26 mpg with just the gas engine. Even its origin is interesting, since its final assembly point is China. To cap things off, it's also the second most expensive CT6 in the range. To find out if the CT6 is worth that money, and has more to offer than fun facts, we spent some time behind the wheel. Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore: I achieved 34.1 miles per gallon for my roughly 14-mile roundtrip in the CT6 hybrid. This sedan is a rolling example of where luxury is heading in the near term: Existing models souped up with hybrid tech, and the green features will go along way toward keeping big sedans like this relevant. It's a smart play for Cadillac to add a product like this. Otherwise, it's a fairly standard-issue CT6, which is a solid car. The flashy head- and taillights look great. The design is angled, creased and nicely proportioned. The interior is comfortable and roomy. It's a nice car. Cadillac invested a lot in the CT6, and it shows. Rumors have long swirled that the brand will add a larger flagship, though in this climate, that's hard to envision. For now, the CT6 does the job as Cadillac's standard bearer. Associate Editor Joel Stocksdale: Of all the different CT6 variants available, the CT6 PHEV is the one I would pick for myself. Why? Because the hybrid powertrain finally delivers on the quiet, refined driving experience I want from a flagship luxury sedan. I was a bit surprised by this, too, since the gas engine under the hood is the 2.0-liter four-cylinder used elsewhere, which isn't the smoothest thing in the world. But assist from the electric motor helps keep the four-cylinder from having to wind up too much to move the big Caddy, and when the gas engine does rev hard, it's well muffled by whatever insulation is in the car. Besides aural refinement, the power delivery is oil-on-ice slick. The blending of electric and gas power is seamless. There's no waiting on the turbo to spool up, and there's no loss of power at higher rpms with the electric motor. They work in perfect harmony providing excellent low-down grunt and solid upper-end power. The transmission is super smooth, too allowing for happy wafting wherever you go.
