For sale with no extra fees!! 2001 Cadillac Deville DHS with only 70,100 original miles!! The DHS is the new name of the D'Elegance which is heavily loaded up with special options. DTS has options that that are expensive to repair such as the active suspension, 17' tires, High output motor is nice but the regular one has 300 ft lbs of torque too, but DTS you do get the floor shift. This car runs very strong! I just installed a brand new pair of AC Delco factory original air shocks and new shock mounts so it rides very smooth. The car has no trouble lights and just passed New York State Inspection including Emmissioins test. The car has a Northstar 4.6 liter motor with good power and performance. The engine temperature is normal at all times which is important for these motors. The transmission shifts through all of the gears very well. Cruise control works properly. The battery is strong and the charging system is charging great. The tires are all matching and in great shape showing even wear on all tires. The chrome 16' factory wheels are kept up very nice and are brilliant! The brakes stop the car smoothly and quickly indicating no issues present. The suspension feels like a Cadillac should feel. Smooth and tight. The exhaust system is solid and appears to be nice and clean. The air conditioning system functions well. The heater works as it should. The car has dual zone heat and air. The rear control for the heat and air conditioning works great too. The paint is brilliant and shows well. I see no evidence of a major collision. The leather is nice and clean. Factory floor mats have kept the carpet clean. The BOSE stereo works super. The car has cassette and a CD changer in the trunk. The car was taken nice care of as you can see in the pictures. I sure enjoy driving the car. It is so loaded up with options that it makes every ride a joy. I like the rear shades in the back seating area! Common with any used car this one too has some flaws that I would like to be honest about. The rear screen is power but the gear seems like it is missing sometimes so you need to assist it down sometimes. The auto button on the passenger side lumbar seat button will need to be repaired. The down lumbar on that switch is not functioning so the auto (massage) for the passenger seat won't activate. The heated seat for the drivers side is either weak or not working but I hear the relay click once the switch is selected. I believe a wheel bearing or front tire balance may be in order sometime on the front end because I feel a super slight vibration on and off at high speed. On the grill there is a crack in the circle part but it is pretty small. I have all of the books for the car, 1 master key and remote with keyless entry and one valet key. You can see that I have the front license plate filler and the cargo net for the trunk as well. The spare tire and tools are complete as well. The car is ready to make a trip across the Country!! 15 MPG in the City and 25 MPG on the Highway so 18 Miles per gallon combined fuel mileage. I have no service history for the car but can see it was kept up nice. Night vision costed $2,250, Adaptive Seats (massaging heated front seats both sides) was $995, Chrome wheels another $795, wood and leather steering wheel another $595, rear seat side air bags $295 and so on. Garage door opener, digital compas mirror auto adjusting, power mirrors, power windows all working, power locks all working, power trunk release, steering wheel buttons working and not worn, lumbar front and rear, heated seats front and rear, shades, twilight lights, Digital speedometer as well as dials, so on and so on!! Again, no fees in my auction so make me an offer or buy it now. If you buy it now I will include a 6 month warranty for you! Uship is a good place to get an idea of the shipping cost if that is how you need to get this home to you. I have a clean NYS title in my safe deposit box. Great car for personal use, Livery, Limo, Shuttle, Taxi, and so on! photo IMG_6642_zps07aacdc5.jpg photo IMG_6643_zpse73fc5cb.jpg photo IMG_6644_zps7ccca85e.jpg photo IMG_6645_zps67f15e0c.jpg photo IMG_6646_zps8e9a67a2.jpg photo IMG_6647_zpsf8c2220f.jpg photo IMG_6648_zpsb80cebf1.jpg photo IMG_6733_zps42162582.jpg photo IMG_6649_zps7f276e03.jpg photo IMG_6650_zps18240b07.jpg photo IMG_6651_zps8767da00.jpg photo IMG_6652_zpscb076e52.jpg photo IMG_6653_zps59a2a9e2.jpg photo IMG_6654_zpsb30f5b4d.jpg photo IMG_6655_zps5e63161d.jpg photo IMG_6656_zps83eb0681.jpg photo IMG_6657_zps84dd4c0e.jpg photo IMG_6658_zps54047f47.jpg photo IMG_6659_zps2b5ae36d.jpg photo IMG_6660_zps948c0abe.jpg photo IMG_6661_zps33d820de.jpg photo IMG_6662_zps23eac939.jpg photo IMG_6663_zps9737bbea.jpg photo IMG_6664_zps5e74e108.jpg photo IMG_6665_zps60b6c1f3.jpg photo IMG_6666_zps626870bc.jpg photo IMG_6667_zpse88693b3.jpg photo IMG_6668_zpsc3cbe0dc.jpg photo IMG_6670_zpse6e9c9f9.jpg photo IMG_6671_zpsc2edc77d.jpg photo IMG_6672_zps6f6a658c.jpg photo IMG_6673_zpsafdea532.jpg photo IMG_6674_zps3dda3bdf.jpg photo IMG_6675_zps80a24809.jpg photo IMG_6676_zpsc3dee19d.jpg photo IMG_6677_zps6a25f4da.jpg photo IMG_6678_zpsc3ffb5f7.jpg photo IMG_6679_zpsd4d87495.jpg photo IMG_6680_zps88cb838f.jpg photo IMG_6681_zps2c2f2165.jpg photo IMG_6682_zps7bc16bee.jpg photo IMG_6683_zps911ac27a.jpg photo IMG_6684_zps37a9ea83.jpg photo IMG_6685_zpse3ffac7c.jpg photo IMG_6686_zpsf3a9924c.jpg photo IMG_6687_zps6090a8f0.jpg photo IMG_6688_zps1fbbe24b.jpg photo IMG_6689_zpsf6cb31ec.jpg photo IMG_6690_zps095c601b.jpg photo IMG_6691_zps9257b087.jpg photo IMG_6693_zpsbd370ccc.jpg photo IMG_6694_zpsfa51b627.jpg photo IMG_6695_zpscf1110c2.jpg photo IMG_6696_zpsdc8de881.jpg photo IMG_6697_zps24392f0a.jpg photo IMG_6698_zps4ced29bc.jpg photo IMG_6699_zps341a59db.jpg photo IMG_6700_zpsec9b5e80.jpg photo IMG_6701_zpsff6dc540.jpg photo IMG_6702_zps69c2702f.jpg photo IMG_6703_zps7caf8dea.jpg photo IMG_6704_zps60526ada.jpg photo IMG_6705_zpsc317650f.jpg photo IMG_6706_zps70d983de.jpg photo IMG_6707_zps9733fa11.jpg photo IMG_6708_zpsa2770d68.jpg photo IMG_6709_zps8530d169.jpg photo IMG_6710_zps44e28947.jpg photo IMG_6711_zps2775582b.jpg photo IMG_6712_zps6d3827d0.jpg photo IMG_6713_zps6601e0b2.jpg photo IMG_6714_zpsacea2fb8.jpg photo IMG_6715_zpsd51aec49.jpg photo IMG_6716_zps64787e14.jpg photo IMG_6717_zps94e55229.jpg photo IMG_6718_zps3098477a.jpg photo IMG_6719_zps8dca6ac1.jpg photo IMG_6720_zps9049356b.jpg photo IMG_6721_zpsfa7311f9.jpg photo IMG_6722_zps16a22140.jpg photo IMG_6571_zpsce8b773b.jpg photo IMG_6638_zps5e2cfa94.jpg photo IMG_6639_zps398141a0.jpg photo IMG_6640_zps95a8264f.jpg photo IMG_6641_zps5c987e15.jpg photo IMG_6723_zps2c723682.jpg photo IMG_6724_zpse5cd23b0.jpg photo IMG_6726_zpsc5b750ba.jpg photo IMG_6727_zps8b10246e.jpg photo IMG_6728_zps6955932f.jpg photo IMG_6729_zpsb51c8e67.jpg photo IMG_6730_zps020c06b2.jpg photo IMG_6731_zps6cf3719f.jpg photo IMG_6732_zpsfd9f4e35.jpg photo IMG_6733_zps547547f7.jpg

2016 Cadillac CT6 to get an aluminum body?

Sat, Dec 27 2014

Well this is interesting: A hot-off-the-press report in Automobile claims the coming Cadillac CT6 will have an aluminum body. Most write-ups on the CT6 claim it will have a body that's a combination of aluminum and high-strength steel - Automobile itself wrote of "high-strength steel, aluminum, and steel stampings" in October. An all-aluminum body would be quite the reversal, contradicting the last four months of reportage and company statements on the matter. Mark Reuss, EVP of global development at General Motors, told The Detroit News in October, "We will create with the CT6, the world's most advanced body structure... [and] it's not aluminum. It's a stronger, smarter, safer premium luxury vehicle." It echoed the earlier Automobile story in saying the CT6 would use GM's "patented welding technology with high-strength steel, aluminum and steel stampings and castings." That same month, the Wall Street Journal ran a piece titled, "GM Won't Follow Aluminum Strategy in Future Cars," in which Reuss said, "making big statements around all carbon fiber, all aluminum, all magnesium, they're very interesting," and that GM wouldn't be doing it. That piece also circled back to a material mix and GM's special welding process, saying the CT6 "will have a body made of aluminum, high-strength steel and other materials, and will be 100 kilograms (220 pounds) lighter than a similar-sized car made of high-strength steel." We don't know what kind of body Cadillac's new assault on luxury is going to wear, but now we can't wait to find out. Editors' Picks February 2022 | GMC Yukon, CT4-V Blackwing and Lexus NX 450h+

Fri, Mar 11 2022

The shortest month of the year spawned a few Editors' Picks choices, and they come from a variety of categories amongst the car world. One comes with a particular caveat, the Lexus NX. Specifically, the new NX that gets our nod is the 450h plug-in hybrid model. We can heartily recommend an NX in this guise for its superb electrified powertrain, but the other versions fail to stir us in the same way. Beyond this, it's some of the latest from GM cleaning up, and they sure are some good ones. In case you missed our previous Editors' Picks posts, here’s a quick refresher on whatÂ’s going on here. We rate all the new cars we drive with a 1-10 score. Cars that are exemplary in their respective segments get EditorsÂ’ Pick status. Those are the ones weÂ’d recommend to our friends, family and anybody whoÂ’s curious and asks the question. The list that youÂ’ll find below consists of every car we rated in January that earned an EditorsÂ’ Pick. 2022 GMC Yukon Quick take: The Yukon is a big, comfortable and versatile SUV that has a little something for everybody, so long as you can stomach the fuel economy. It's an excellent middle ground between the Tahoe and Escalade. Score: 8.0 What it competes with: Ford Expedition, Jeep Wagoneer and Grand Wagoneer, Lincoln Navigator, Chevrolet Tahoe, Cadillac Escalade Pros: Tons of space, comfy ride, great trim variety, powerful engine options Cons: V8 Fuel economy, infotainment can be laggy, unexciting base interiors From the editors Road Test Editor, Zac Palmer — "GM's full-size SUVs are fantastic this time around, especially if you opt for the magnetic shocks and air suspension. The availability of a diesel engine that vastly improves fuel economy is huge, and the Denali trim is more special than ever with its unique interior design. I personally prefer the Yukon's styling over the Tahoe's, too." In-depth analysis: 2022 GMC Yukon Review | AT4 and Denali make the strongest case   2022 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Quick take: Cadillac is at the top of the mountain with its performance sedans, and the CT4-V Blackwing is no exception. One drive in this magnificent creation will have any enthusiast convinced that it's a top-tier sport sedan.

Why an independent rear suspension for GM's new, full-sized SUVs wasn't easy

Mon, Dec 23 2019

A Motor Trend report last month laid out how Cadillac's 4.2-lier twin-turbo Blackwing V8 could be an orphan due to cost concerns in the GM empire. Last-minute chassis changes to Cadillac's new sedans and XT6 crossover led to engine bays that couldn't fit the Blackwing. On the SUV side, according to the report, the new independent rear suspension for big people haulers cost so much to implement that GM ruled out reworking the Escalade to accept the Blackwing. At least one commenter rightly asked how could a suspension swallow that much money. A new piece in Motor Trend has the answer. The excellent Alissa Priddle spoke to Tim Herrick, GM's executive chief engineer for full-size trucks, about why the clean-sheet IRS cost "multimillions of dollars."  First, GM would need to build a new body shop at the Arlington, Texas plant that assembles the automaker's big SUVs to stamp the numerous wholly new parts and panels accommodating an IRS. Then GM would need to design and pay for a new assembly process. On top of those up-front costs, there was the incremental cost of the four-link IRS components being more expensive than those in the trucks' former leaf-sprung solid axles. Herrick endured so many rejections for so long that he remembers the date and time when he got approval for the new unit. He said it came down to a meeting where he told a higher-up, "I'll make you a deal: If we get to the reveal, or if we launch this and you think this was a dumb idea, I'll hand you my badge and let you walk me out." Head to Motor Trend to read the full story. Based on Herrick being on stage to help present the new SUVs to the press, and on our First Ride in the new Chevrolet Tahoe and Suburban at GM's Milford Proving Grounds, it appears this will have a happy ending for all involved. Furthermore, since Herrick worked on the T1 platform that supports the big SUVs as well as the light- and heavy-duty pickups, he understood the demands on the commercial side, too. That could be why when Roadshow asked Tim Asoklis, chief engineer of the Tahoe and Suburban, if the new IRS could endure life in the Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra, Asoklis answered, "Oh, absolutely."
