This handsome 2009 Cadillac DTS Platinum was just traded in on a new one by the original owner. Yes he put a lot of miles on it, but, he also maintained it to perfection. I had it serviced and the shop said it needed NOTHING, but I did an oil change anyway. This DTS Platinum is Black with Light Linen & Cocoa Tuscany Leather and Light Linen Suede Headliner. Stunning. It is loaded with great stuff like Navigation; Front & Rear Parking Sensers; XM Satellite Radio; Lighted Sill Plates; Lane Departure Warning System; 9-Spoke Chrome Wheels; Heated Steering Wheel; Heated / Cooled Seats; Front and rear power lumbar controls; Power Moonroof; etc, etc, etc. The engine, transmission & driveability are 100% excellent. Drives like a new car. The interior is a "10". Never smoked in. Everything is squeaky clean and working properly, except for one item. "Service Lane Departure System" is on, but in NO WAY affects the driving or safety or inspectability of this DTS. Little lights come on if someone is in your blind spot. There should also be an audible signal. The audio is not working. Other than that, she is perfection. The body is shiny and nice. CarFax confirms this DTS Platinum has NEVER been in an accident. Just your typical light surface scratches or road rash from hiway driving. Tires are very new, as are the brakes. Looking for a well-maintained DTS for about half the retail price? Look no further. DISCLAIMER: As with anything pre-owned, there may be imperfections commensurate with the age and mileage. Please don't expect perfection. Thanks for being reasonable. Any questions? Please call Philip at 978-852-9231 or email. Thanks!

GM design boss Welburn says Lincoln isn't a Cadillac rival [w/poll]
Thu, 05 Dec 2013General Motors Vice President of Global Design, Ed Welburn, had some dismissive words for a certain cross-town luxury brand during an interview with Car and Driver. When asked about his thoughts on Lincoln, Welburn deflected, before saying, "I don't consider Lincoln to be a competitor for Cadillac."
"They're not a global luxury brand. I don't consider them a competitor. Are they a competitor for Buick? Quite possibly. But not for Cadillac," GM's head designer explained. Welburn, who's been at the helm of GM Design North America since 2003 and is the first to hold the position of VP of Global Design, has been instrumental in the styling renaissance at GM, so predictably, Car and Driver's interview with him focused on the design aspect of cars.
During the interview, Welburn explicitly denied plans for a reborn Cadillac XLR, even as a new Chevrolet Corvette is hitting the market and strides are being made with Cadillac's V-Series performance arm saying, "We have a lot of cars that we're working on for the Cadillac brand. The XLR is not one of them right now."

Cars with the worst resale value in 2022
Thu, Nov 10 2022Car values are all over the map right now. Used vehicles that were worth a small fortune earlier this year are now coming back to Earth, but the new vehicle supply remains tight. Prices are still elevated overall, but some models have seen more severe price drops. Depreciation strikes almost every model, supply constraint or not, though a few vehicles are leading the way. New research from analytics iSeeCars found that a handful of cars depreciated more than 50 percent over five years, with the BMW 7 Series dropping 56.9 percent and an average price cut of $61,923 over that time. The vehicles with the highest depreciation — or worst resale value — over five years: BMW 7 Series: -56.9% Maserati Ghibli: -56.3% Jaguar XF: -54% Infiniti QX80: -52.6% Cadillac Escalade ESV: 52.3% Mercedes-Benz S-Class: 51.9% Lincoln Navigator: -51.9% Audi A6: -51.5% Volvo S90: -51.4% Ford Expedition: -50.7% iSeeCarsÂ’ research showed that midsize trucks, sports cars, and fuel-efficient vehicles were slowest to depreciate over five years, while itÂ’s clear that luxury brands tend to lose value much faster. As iSeeCarsÂ’ Executive Analyst Karl Brauer explained, used buyers donÂ’t value high-end vehiclesÂ’ features as much as the first owners, so resale values tend to be softer. The tech and options that made the cars so expensive and appealing new donÂ’t add the same value on the used market. Read more: Cars with the best resale value Interestingly, electric vehicles also depreciated quite heavily, though they were just short of the abysmal numbers in luxury segments. The Nissan Leaf depreciated most among EVs, dropping by 49.1 percent. The average EV depreciation is 44.2 percent, with the Tesla Model S and Model X sliding in right under the bar at 43.7 and 38.8 percent, respectively. As iSeeCars notes, itÂ’s important to be vigilant when car shopping and not let your emotions win over reason. Shiny new luxury cars look great in the showroom, but you could end up taking a bath when you try selling them a few years later on.
