This is the reason I am selling the Car.. Car is not California Smog Legal. Since it has Long tube Headers and NON CARB Catalytic converters. Again the car is not California Legal, and I am in california now. Please make sure you are away of this if you live in California Road Test: 2012 Hennessy CTS-V Hammer Wagon On Jan-07-14 at 19:35:51 PST, seller added the following information: Here are some updates for Question I have received that I did not add to the Q and A at the bottom. Q. What is the class 1 hitch on the car used for, what did you tow? A. It was used to carry a mountain bike rack. No trailer wiring installed, and no trailer has been towed. Q. When was the Hennessey Conversion done? How many miles seince then? A. 9-12-12 was date of Hennessey Upgrades. Exact Miles were not listed, but aprox 10k Q. Have you taken the car to the Drag Strip? if so what were the 1/4 mile times? A. I have not Drag Raced, or tacken the car to a road race track. Hennessey says 3.5 0-60 and 11.4 1/4 on their site. This is with stock wheels and tires. My guess if you add some drag radials, you could drop 1/2 second off that or more. Depends on how good you are. Q. What is the least you will take for the car? I have XXX to spend, and are you wiling to take that much? A. Car is a steal for the buy it now price. My reserve is several thousand less than the buy it now. Since I have had alot of interest I am going to let the auction run. Feel free to offer me any prioce for the car, just if it is much less than the current buy it now, I most likely will not end the auction early. But you never now. Q. Do you have any spare parts? A. Yes I have the original Chrome wheels, not in great shape straight and true, but some road rash on them. Will include them at the buy it now, otherwise they will be a separate auction at a later date. Q. Will you trade for my 1991 Pinto? A. Most likely not, as the car will probably be shipped. Q. Will you assist in pick up and drop off for any transport company? A. Absolutely I have no issues helping facilitate any transport related pickup and drop off. Q. Are the Seats Heated and cooled? what about the steering wheel? A. Heated and cooled seats = YES car is not equipped with heated wheel. Keep the questions coming, happy to answer them. Great car for a great price.. Happy bidding |

Cadillac Elmiraj sedan RWD flagship finally caught testing
Wed, 22 Jan 2014While we still have no insight as to it being named Elmiraj, STS or some other permutation of the -TS nomenclature ("LTS" has apparently been registered by GM, as well), new spy shots give us proof positive that Cadillac is indeed hard at work on a rear-wheel-drive flagship model. Spied for the very first time in some north country testing, these shots provide a first look at the upcoming range-topper from Cadillac.
Impressively long and large bodywork ride atop new General Motors' corporate Omega rear-drive architecture here. Heavy cladding over camouflage may discourage finding any details, but the overall, sharp-edged and blocky design is clearly reminiscent of what we've seen on the new CTS and the recently debuted ATS coupe. A strong, wheels-at-each-corner stance helps emphasize the length of this stretched Caddy, and everything about the proportions seem spot-on for a new fullsize flagship for the brand.
It's quite possible that Cadillac will ultimately festoon this large sedan with detailing reminiscent of the original Elmiraj coupe, though thus far we've only seen prototypes wearing four-doors.
Junkyard Gem: 1998 Cadillac Catera
Sun, Jun 7 2020Every so often, during the last few decades of the 20th century, the suits running each of the big Detroit automakers would eye their European subsidiaries and decide that some car from the other side of the Atlantic could be making dollars over here in addition to pounds or francs or Deutschmarks over there. Chrysler didn't do so well with Simca 1204s or Plymouth-badged Hillman Avengers in the American marketplace (though the Simca-based Omnirizon did very well). Ford USA moved quite a few Capris and Fiestas during the 1970s, then bombed with the Merkur Scorpio and XR4Ti. General Motors tried, over and over, to get Americans to buy Opels (some sold by Buick dealers, others actually badged as Buicks), and I still see the occasional Kadett, GT, or Manta in junkyards to this day. For the 1997 model year, still stinging from the not-so-great sales of the Turin-Hamtramck-built Cadillac Allante, GM took the Omel Omega B and applied Cadillac badges. The result was the Catera, and I found this silver '98 in a Denver self-service yard recently. The Catera had a lot going for it, with a rear-wheel-drive layout and a modern V6 engine that made more power than the BMW 528i's straight-six that year. It should have been able to compete with European luxury sedans in North America because itΒ was a European luxury sedan. Unfortunately, you couldn't get a manual transmission in the Catera, "traditional" Cadillac shoppers thought the Catera lacked a sufficiently massive presence, and younger Cadillac buyers flocked straight to the Escalade starting in 1999. After 2001, the Catera was no more. I still find Cateras in junkyards, nearly 20 years after the last ones were sold, so they appear to have held together pretty well. This one was in nice shape until the end, with all the original manuals still in the glovebox. Even the Catera ballpoint pen remained with the car for its whole life. As we can see in the owner's manual, Cadillac marketed the Catera as "The Caddy That Zigs." The idea was that younger car shoppers would become as Cadillac-obsessed as their grandparents had been. Inspired by the ducks in the Cadillac logo, the Catera marketing team created Ziggy the Duck to pitch this car. Things didn't go so well. The Catera listed at $29,995 in 1998, about $47,600 in 2020 dollars. That made it an affordable alternative to the BMW 5-Series or Acura 3.2 TL, but total Catera sales came to fewer than 95,000 cars over five model years.
Cadillac will kill the plug-in ELR
Tue, Feb 2 2016Johan de Nysschen, president of General Motors' Cadillac division, says Caddy's ELR extended-range plug-in won't have any future generations, Automotive News (subs. req.) says. The publication previously reported that the car would be around for another couple of years, but even that's questionable, and the model could be yanked even sooner. Cadillac spokesman David Caldwell confirmed that there won't be a second-generation ELR. "Subsequent generations of the car will not be developed," he wrote in an e-mail to Autoblog. "It's available currently as a 2016 model, and there's no change to that status." The model debuted in late 2013 and used a version of the powertrain in the Chevrolet Volt. The main problem, of course, was that the car had a $76,000 price tag that proved too much for most automobile buyers to stomach. Last year, GM sold 1,024 ELRs, down 22 percent from 2014's totals. By comparison, the Chevy Volt moved more than 15,000 units, and that itself was still down 18 percent from year-earlier figures. The merciful end to the ELR shouldn't be much of a surprise, as Cadillac Chief Marketing Officer Uwe Ellinghaus went on the record in December of essentially calling the model a dud. It's a far cry from the excitement, though, that the concept model of what was then called the Converj was unveiled to the public at the Detroit Auto Show in 2009. For those feeling misty-eyed or nostalgic, though, check here for Autoblog's First Drive impressions of the extended-range plug-in.
