1996 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon Collector's Edition-Very Nice Condition - Low Mileage One-family
owned, beautiful condition 1996 Buick Roadmaster Estate Wagon Collector's
Edition. This is the last of the full-sized, rear wheel drive, station
wagons, and Buick did it up right with the 1996 Collector Edition which is
today highly regarded and becoming quite rare to find in nice condition with
low mileage. There is a lot of
information online about this special car and all the features it has – so I will touch on what I think are the
important things for you to know. This vehicle has been well cared for, always garaged and recently serviced. Everything works (i.e.: AC, windows, original Concert Sound radio & power antenna, and power seats, ETC). It is in excellent condition inside and out. The interior, including the leather seats, is just about perfect. The only exterior blemishes are a small dent in the hood (hard to photograph) and some minor “Di-noc” wood grain issues (see photos). The paint is shiny and new looking and there is absolutely no rust. All side moldings are in great shape and firmly attached. All chrome is very nice. The front and rear bumpers have minimal scratches in the paint. The doors have no (that I can see) parking lot dings. The undercarriage is clean with no rust. The vehicle has the Corvette LT 1, 5.7-liter engine with dual exhaust and gives excellent mileage (18 city-27 hwy). The
Roadmaster is fully loaded with all the Collector Edition factory options—from
automatic driving lights, leather covered steering wheel, PosiTraction, power everything,
down to the wire wheels. All tires are in excellent condition including the
full size spare tire. This car drives great, is very quiet, has great power and
acceleration, and is super comfortable. With a trailer hitch, this car is rated to tow 7000lbs. The Roadmaster has recently passed the Connecticut State Emission Test. You are
welcome to inspect this Roadmaster or call to ask any questions. Please give me
a call to arrange a time to view this car – you can also use the eBay Message
System – I am usually quite prompt with replies. The winning bidder will receive a clean Connecticut Title and Bill of Sale. This car is for local pickup, or I can assist with loading onto a commercial car carrier. Thanks, Bob (Phone 860-535-0242) Note: The reserve price is very very low based what similar cars have sold for on eBay. (Call I'll be glad to discuss it)

Buick Avista concept is 'buildable', but not a priority
Tue, Mar 22 2016Buick could build the striking Avista concept that debuted at the Detroit Auto Show, though it's not a top priority, the brand's top executive said Tuesday in New York. "The reaction's been so great, we'll try to run the numbers and see if there's a business case," said Duncan Aldred, Buick vice president of sales, service, and marketing. Buick will show the Avista in red this week at the New York Auto Show as a followup to its Detroit debut. Buick actually built two prototypes, which are being used to promote the brand's performance potential at auto shows around the world this year. "It's very buildable," Aldred told reporters after the reveal of the reveal of the 2017 Encore small crossover before the New York Auto Show. "Ultimately, it comes down to priorities." He added, "We'd love to do it. We could do it, but [there's] lots of things we'd love to do... Nothing to confirm or deny." The Avista concept suggests a sports car with a twin-turbo V6 with 400 horsepower put to the rear wheels. The two-door followed another impressive Buick concept, the Avenir, which was four-door styling exercise from the 2015 Detroit show. Though the Avista remains on the minds of enthusiasts – helped in part by Buick – the priorities for the brand are crossovers. The Avista offers style, but the freshened Encore is the substance for Buick in New York, which along with the Envision, launches this year into the red-hot utility segment. The new Cascada convertible and redesigned LaCrosse also are joining Buick's lineup this year. While the Avista is doable, the brand clearly has other priorities ahead of it. Related Video:
GM won't really kill off the Chevy Volt and Cadillac CT6, will it?
Fri, Jul 21 2017General Motors is apparently considering killing off six slow-selling models by 2020, according to Reuters. But is that really likely? The news is mentioned in a story where UAW president Dennis Williams notes that slumping US car sales could threaten jobs at low-volume factories. Still, we're skeptical that GM is really serious about killing those cars. Reuters specifically calls out the Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CT6, Cadillac XTS, Chevrolet Impala, Chevrolet Sonic, and the Chevrolet Volt. Most of these have been redesigned or refreshed within the past few model years. Four - the LaCrosse, Impala, CT6, and Volt - are built in the Hamtramck factory in Detroit. That plant has made only 35,000 cars this year - down 32 percent from 2016. A typical GM plant builds 200,000-300,000 vehicles a year. Of all the cars Williams listed, killing the XTS, Impala, and Sonic make the most sense. They're older and don't sell particularly well. On the other hand, axing the other three seems like an odd move. It would leave Buick and Cadillac without flagship sedans, at least until the rumored Cadillac CT8 arrives. The CT6 was a big investment for GM and backing out after just a few years would be a huge loss. It also uses GM's latest and best materials and technology, making us even more skeptical. The Volt is a hugely important car for Chevrolet, and supplementing it with a crossover makes more sense than replacing it with one. Offering one model with a range of powertrain variants like the Hyundai Ioniq and Toyota Prius might be another route GM could take. All six of these vehicles are sedans, Yes, crossover sales are booming, but there's still a huge market for cars. Backing away from these would be essentially giving up sales to competitors from around the globe. The UAW might simply be publicly pushing GM to move crossover production to Hamtramck to avoid closing the plant and laying off workers. Sales of passenger cars are down across both GM and the industry. Consolidating production in other plants and closing Hamtramck rather than having a single facility focus on sedans might make more sense from a business perspective. GM is also trying to reduce its unsold inventory, meaning current production may be slowed or halted while current cars move into customer hands. There's a lot of politics that goes into building a car. GM wants to do what makes the most sense from a business perspective, while the UAW doesn't workers to lose their jobs when a factory closes.
GM expands headlight recall to 180k Buicks and Pontiacs
Thu, Aug 20 2015General Motors is issuing an expanded headlight module recall to include 180,504 examples in North America of the 2005 Buick LaCrosse (2008 model year pictured above) and 2007 Pontiac Grand Prix. Specifically, the campaign affects 159,584 of them in the US and 20,920 in Canada. When the part fails, the vehicles' low beams can stop working either intermittently or permanently. "GM is unable to confirm any crashes, injuries or fatalities related to this condition," the company said in a statement, and there's currently no permanent repair for the problem. For now, dealers will replace the headlamp module with a new example of the same part. The automaker first announced this campaign in November 2014 when it affected 316,357 examples globally of the 2006-09 Buick LaCrosse; 2006-2007 Chevy TrailBlazer and TrailBlazer EXT; 2006-2007 GMC Envoy and 2006 GMC Envoy XL; 2006-2007 Buick Rainier; 2006-2008 Saab 9-7X; and 2006-08 Isuzu Ascender.
