1968 Buick Riviera Hardtop 2-door 7.0l, 360hp, Classic on 2040-cars

This car is beautiful for it's age. 1968 Buick Riviera with a little over 20,000 miles (no way to know for certain, but I assume it has turned at least once) as far as I can tell with the documentation I received. It has a 430-4, V8 "Big Block" engine that pushes 360hp. I have the stock rims and whitewall tires on hand if the future owner requests them, but opted to upgrade them to their current look. The car has been detailed extensively and the craftsmanship has to be seen in person to be truly appreciated. The paint is original, but has been repaired over the years. The body is free of rust holes and is in remarkable shape. The engine has a new radiator, new brake drums, all hoses flushed, new battery (starts every time), new shocks, new wheel cylinders, new hoses and spark plug wires, just to name a few. I am not interested in dealing with anyone not willing to travel to my location or willing to ensure full payment is made before shipping the car. Clean title in hand to a serious bidder. She runs strong with minor cosmetic issues only. The interior is in awesome condition. The 1968 Buick Riviera was luxury American Muscle in it's day.
Do your own research on these. There are ones online that are in an unrestored-state for under $10,000 from time-to-time, but with those, you would still have to put up the money to get the mechanical condition of the car up to par as cars this old are prone mechanical problems. The car is 46 years and this one has a fully functioning mechanical system that has been professionally inspected and repaired. If you want an American Muscle Car that gets heads to turn, then this is the car for you. Call Jeff if interested. **Also, I have all the repair manuals for all Buick models in 1968. I purchased this disc that has the 1968 Body By Fisher repair manual as well as the services manual. This is all a person would need to attain part numbers and to make minor to large fixes by yourself. This can save tons of money on repairs for these older cars and makes it a challenge to track down replacement parts; kind of like a treasure hunt! New parts: *New Tires w/ Rims *New Brake Drums (all 4) *Replaced Shocks (Rides like a muscle car, not a boat) *New Radiator (with new hoses) *Replaced Power Steering Pump *Newly painted hood (no dents or rust) *New Spark Plugs and Custom Wiring *New Kicker 6x9 speakers (rear), and dual 2.5 speakers (front) installed *(Radio is an older cassette deck but has an adapter for hooking to any MP3 device so the sound is good quality) *All leather interior has been treated *New interior carpet installed (I am an amateur, so this is not a professional job, it still looks good) *All chrome has been treated and polished *Engine growls like American Muscle should *New air filter *All interior vinyl has been treated *New headlight air hydraulic lines installed (These headlights flip up and into the body when not in use and are in perfect working order which is rare due to the age) *All wiring has been verified and all lights work properly *New starter and ignition system *New battery and new connections *The trunk has been stripped to bare metal and sealed |

2024 Buick Encore GX refresh adds Wildcat looks, Avenir trim
Thu, Feb 16 2023Buick made it clear with the Wildcat EV concept that styling cues from it would start appearing on future products. It turns out the first of them is the refreshed 2024 Encore GX subcompact crossover. And that may seem a little odd to start a revamp of the lineup with the entry-level model, but there is some logic to it. According to Buick representatives, the Encore GX made sense for a few reasons. It was due for a refresh regardless, but also it's the brand's best seller, one that's growing and attracting younger buyers. And as far as refreshes go, the Encore GX's is pretty substantial. The front end is completely redone with the low, frowning grille of the Wildcat and the glaring LED daytime running lights high up. The rear has been updated with new LED taillights and rear bumper design, too, plus the new Buick logo and word mark placed prominently in the middle of the hatch. There are unique features for two new trim levels. The ST, which has been promoted to a full trim instead of just an add-on appearance package, gets gloss black body cladding and other trim such as on the mirrors. It gets unique wheels, ST badges in the grille, and a flat-bottom steering wheel inside. The Avenir, a first for the model and an addition that makes the Avenir trim available on every Buick, features bright grille inserts, body color trim, clear taillight lenses and unique interior upholstery. All Encore GXs benefit from interior updates. Almost the entire dash has been redesigned, mainly in service of the new instruments and infotainment. Every trim gets an 8-inch digital instrument cluster and 11-inch infotainment touch screen. Other details such as the climate control buttons and dials have been revamped as well. The screen can be used to access wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto. The Avenir trim sweetens the interior with unique leather upholstery, power adjustable front seats (10-way for the driver, 8-way for the passenger), a heated steering wheel, air ionizer and auto-dimming rear mirror. Things are mostly the same under the skin, though. The base engine is a turbocharged 1.2-liter three-cylinder making 137 horsepower and 162 pound-feet of torque. The optional turbo 1.3-liter three-cylinder makes 155 horsepower and 174 pound-feet. They're basically carry-over, as are the drivetrain combinations. Front-wheel-drive Encore GXs get a CVT, and the all-wheel-drive ones get a nine-speed automatic. Pricing is quite reasonable. The base model starts at $26,895.
Next Buick Regal coming in 2017, could be imported from Germany
Sun, 03 Aug 2014The Buick Regal is based on the Opel/Vauxhall Insignia, a pair of sedans from General Motors' European and British outfits. In fact, over 46,000 Regals from model years 2010 and 2011 were screwed together on the same lines as the Insignia twins, before GM's Oshawa, Ontario factory took over production fully. Considering this closeness, rumors that claim the next-generation Regal - due for 2017 - could move back to Europe aren't terribly surprising. Here's why, according to Automotive News.
Oshawa is home to three other vehicles, aside from the Regal - the Chevrolet Camaro, Impala rental queen and the Cadillac XTS. We already know next-gen Camaro production is headed to Lansing, MI, and that the fleet-only Impala will (finally!) die in 2016. As for the XTS, as AN explains it, sales are so slow that GM will either kill it or just shuffle its production volume elsewhere.
Taken along with the fact that Unifor, the Canadian labor union repping workers at the Oshawa factory, claim GM hasn't made any guarantees about future production at the nearly 60-year-old factory, it seems fairly clear that the Regal's current factory is going to be put out to pasture.
GM finds steering flaw, decides it doesn't warrant a recall
Tue, Apr 14 2015Guess what? General Motors is back in the spotlight for not recalling something. This time, though, not only does the company have an argument against a recall campaign, but its position is supported by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration. According to The New York Times, over 50 owners of GM vehicles have reported instances of stuck or seized steering after driving long distances without moving the wheel. One owner complained to NHTSA that the "locked" steering of their 2013 Buick Verano caused a collision with a concrete barrier in a construction zone. Along with the 2013 to 2014 model year Verano sedans, Chevrolet Cruze and Malibu sedans are also affected. Considering the popularity of those models, GM needs to have a reason for not issuing a recall, right? "Based on a very low rate of occurrence – ranging from less than one half to less than two incidents per thousand vehicles – and the fact that the condition is remedied when the wheel is turned, GM determined this was not a safety issue," spokesman Alan Adler told The Times. The company has, however, issued a technical service bulletin for owners that complain of the problem. The fix is nothing more than a software update that is covered for 10 years or 150,000 miles from new. NHTSA cited GM's actions, along with descriptions of the problems from customers, in its decision not to issue a recall, with spokeswoman Catherine Howden saying, "the symptoms described would be a brief, perceptible change in steering feel that has little to no effect on the driver's ability to safely steer the vehicle." "When terms like 'notchy,' 'stick,' 'slip' or 'feel' are used, it does not indicate a meaningful increase in steering effort," Howden told The Times via email. What do you think? Is GM in the wrong here? Should there be a recall, or is the issue so limited as to not warrant one? Have your say in Comments.
