FOR SALE: BEAUTIFUL 1965 BUICK RIVIERA WITH CORRECT DUAL QUADS.

2 OWNER CAR. I PURCHASED IT IN 1997 FROM THE ORIGINAL OWNERS WIFE WITH 24k MILES.

BODY: REPAINTED IN 2004. THE CAR WAS STRIPPED TO BARE METAL. ALL PANELS & GLASS WERE REMOVED. VERY MINOR BODY WORK WAS NEEDED (DINGS & MINOR SURFACE RUST). PPG BASE COAT CLEAR COAT WAS USED. WET SANDED & BUFFED. THE BODY IS LASER STRAIGHT! THE PAINT STILL LOOKS AMAZING!

INTERIOR: THE INTERIOR SHOWS WELL. BUT IS AGED. SEATS ARE IN VERY GOOD SHAPE. CARPET IS FADED & WORN. COULD USE REPLACING. HEADLINER WAS REPLACE BEFORE I BOUGHT IT. IT IS NOT THE ORIGINAL STYLE. WOODGRAIN INSERTS ARE SHOWING AGE. ALL IN ALL THE INTERIOR IS CLEAN & VERY PRESENTABLE BUT SHOWING AGE.

ENGINE & TRANS: ENGINE RUNS VERY STRONG! NO KNOCKING, TICKING OR SMOKING. IT DOES NOT BURN ANY OIL. BUT HAS DEVELOPED A MINOR OIL PAN SEEPAGE. IT'S NOT BAD. BUT I THOUGHT I SHOULD MENTION IT. I ADDED THE DUAL QUAD SET UP IN 2008. I WAS PLANNING ON CLONING IT AS A GRAN SPORT. BUT NEVER GOT AROUND TO IT. THE ELECTRONIC IGNITION/DISTRIBUTOR WAS ALSO ADDED AT THAT TIME. TRANS WAS REBUILT WITH A SHIFT KIT IN 2009. IT CHIRPS THE TIRES NICELY INTO 2ND GEAR WITH LITTLE EFFORT. IT DRIVES & BRAKES NICELY.

THE FLOORS & FRAME ARE VERY SOLID. THERE IS SOME MINOR SURFACE RUST THAT CAN EASILY BE CLEANED & SPRAYED OVER. NEW SHOCKS & COIL SPRINGS ON THE REAR.

ALL MOLDINGS & CHROME ARE IN VERY GOOD CONDITION. NOT SHOW QUALITY. BUT VERY NICE DRIVER QUALITY.

ISSUES:
HEADLAMP MOTOR IS WEAK. WILL NEED A REBUILD ($250).
GAS GAUGE IS NOT WORKING. NEEDS SENDING UNIT($65).
A/C & HEATER BLOWER FAN STOPPED WORKING LAST SPRING.
A/C LAST WORKED IN 2010. IT HAS NOT BEEN CONVERTED TO R-134.
POWER SEAT IS SLUGGISH.
RIGHT REAR WINDOW IS VERY SLOW.
SCRATCH ON RIGHT FENDER (SEEN IN PICS).
CHIP TOUCHED UP ON DECK LID (SEEN IN PIC).
I MAY BE NIT PICKING WITH THIS STUFF. BUT I DON'T WANT ANY SURPRISES FOR THE BUYER.

THESE CARS ARE STEADILY INCREASING IN VALUE. NADA GUIDES VALUE FOR THIS ONE RANGES BETWEEN $20,360 & $42,910. SO I BELIEVE IT'S PRICED QUITE FAIRLY. I'VE SEEN OTHERS NOT AS NICE SELL FOR MORE. PLUS MINE HAS THE VERY DESIRABLE DUAL QUADS.

THIS IS A GREAT CAR THAT I ABSOLUTELY HATE TO SELL. BUT AT 45 I DECIDED TO GET MARRIED AGAIN. WE'VE BOUGHT A NEW HOUSE, I HAVE TOO MANY CARS, NOT ENOUGH SPACE & I NEED THE CASH.

MORE PHOTOS ARE AVAILABLE TO SERIOUS BUYERS.
PLEASE ASK ALL QUESTIONS & HAVE FUNDS AVAILABLE BEFORE MAKING AN OFFER. ALL REASONABLE/SERIOUS OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED.
THE CAR IS FOR SALE LOCALLY. SO I MAY END THE LISTING EARLY.

THANK YOU FOR VIEWING MY LISTING.

2022 Buick Envision Plus three-row crossover is like an Envision, plus

Wed, Apr 7 2021

Buick exited the sedan segment when it axed the Regal, but it's going all-in on crossovers and SUVs. It released a dark preview image that gives us an early look at a three-row family-hauler named Envision Plus. Announced only for the Chinese market as of writing, the Envision Plus is — as its name implies — positioned above the Envision in the company's range, though it's smaller than the Enclave. It's mechanically related to the crossover it shares its nameplate with, but it appears to receive a specific design with a new-look front bumper and a more upright grille. It also wears a boxier silhouette that allowed Buick to add a third row of seats. Extra seating aside, we expect the Plus will offer an interior close to the standard Envision's, which we described as "a scaled-down take on the Enclave's interior" in February 2021. Similarly, Buick will likely offer the Envision Plus with the same turbocharged, 2.0-liter four-cylinder as the smaller model. It produces 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and it spins the front or the four wheels via a nine-speed automatic transmission. Buick will release more details about the 2022 Envision Plus in the coming weeks, and it will unveil the model at the 2021 edition of the Shanghai auto show opening its doors on April 21. While the company hasn't confirmed plans to sell its latest crossover in its home market, we wouldn't be surprised if it arrives here before the end of 2021. Auto shows were put on hiatus in 2020, at the height of the on-going coronavirus pandemic, and the upcoming Shanghai show is the first major industry event in over a year. In addition to the Buick people-mover, we'll discover Toyota's first global electric car. It will arrive as a near-production concept close in size to the hot-selling RAV4. Chevy Traverse, Hyundai Santa Fe revealed; Buick Envista, BMW M4 CSL driven | Autoblog Podcast #790

Fri, Jul 21 2023

In this episode of the Autoblog Podcast, Editor-in-Chief Greg Migliore is joined by Senior Editor John Beltz Snyder. After some banter, including the discussion of an excellent tomato sauce recipe, they get into car reviews. Greg has been driving the Mercedes-AMG GLE 53, while John has been testing the BMW M4 CSL and Buick's new Envista crossover. There's lots of interesting news this week. Chevy revealed the 2024 Traverse with new looks, a new engine and on off-road(ish) trim. Hyundai gave us a glimpse at the wild styling of the next Santa Fe. Dodge might bring back the Stealth nameplate as an SUV, and that has implications for the Durango as well. Ford, after repeatedly raising prices, has turned around and significantly discounted the F-150 Lightning across all trims. The first Tesla Cybertruck has rolled off the line as a pre-production prototype. Finally, we reach in to the mailbag and help a listener decide what to do with cars for himself and his kids in this week's Spend My Money segment. Junkyard Gem: 1990 Buick Reatta Coupe

Sun, Nov 6 2022

During the 1980s, General Motors worked hard to woo back American car shoppers who had defected to European luxury brands. Swanky interiors, futuristic electronics and Europe-influenced styling found their way into quite a few GM models during the second half of the decade. Pontiac had the 6000 STE, Oldsmobile offered the Toronado Trofeo, Cadillac sold the Turin-Hamtramck-built Allante, and Buick produced the sporty Reatta two-seater. Just under 22,000 Reattas were built during the 1988 through 1991 model years, and today's Junkyard Find is the fifth example I've found during my junkyard travels. The Reatta was the most expensive 1990 Buick, priced at $28,335 for the coupe and $34,995 for the convertible (or about $65,895 and $81,380 in inflation-adjusted 2022 dollars).  For that kind of money, American car shoppers in 1990 could get a BMW 325i in coupe or convertible form for $24,650 or $33,850. They could get a Saab 900 Turbo convertible for $32,995 or an Audi Coupe Quattro for $29,750. Each of those European competitors had sophisticated overhead-cam engines and grippy suspensions, but the Reatta was built on a shortened version of the chassis that went under the Barcalounger-esque Buick Riviera and its engine was the old-timey pushrod Buick V6. The 3.8-liter Buick V6 had been made quite reliable and acceptably smooth by the time this car was built, and it made 165 horsepower (just three fewer than the BMW 325i), but Buick salesmen didn't have much to brag about when showing this engine compartment to a 35-year-old youngster who had just driven a Saab 900 Turbo. The antiquated engine was problem enough, but the lack of a manual transmission served to chase off additional potential buyers. A four-speed automatic was mandatory in every Reatta. Just in case some traditional (i.e. Greatest Generation members) Buick customers might consider this glamorous two-seater, Buick scared them off with the Reatta's video-game-style digital dash and its way-ahead-of-its-time Graphics Control Center touchscreen interface. You can't win! The Graphics Control Center hardware has been grabbed from this dash (the components also fit optioned-up Rivieras and Trofeos of the same era, so junkyard shoppers pull them for resale). Naturally, a Reatta owner would want a hardwired car phone. If you really wanted to be cool in the early 1990s, you bought a Chrysler product with the amazing VisorPhone.
