1986 Buick Grand National on 2040-cars
Aston, Pennsylvania, United States

Someone is going to get a great deal on my personal 1986 Buick Grand National. In my family 23 years. Was bought before I had children in1991. Loved it but needed a mini van for 3 kids so it didn't get used much as the 2nd car. Now the kids are grown and have moved on and so must I. A non-refundable deposit of $250 at end of auction will hold the car for 7 days. Cash or Paypal when picking it up is the only option. $50 per day storage after 7 days. The new parts installed years ago include new Hurst stainless exhaust, new headliner, new tires, new brake booster, new stereo, new amp, new speakers, remote start This Grand National is a diamond in the rough. It has been sitting in my driveway for 7+ years with good intention for my oldest son but he wants a Jeep. Perfect for a car buff looking to refurbish and bring her back to life.
It needs the usual from sitting so long. Had Mobil 1 oil changes every 3,000 miles. It does run and drive but the paint is faded, rust at the bottom of the doors, a ding in the left rear, a ding on the right front, bumper plastic is bad, grill is chipped, tires dry rotted, rear view mirror fell off, seats are worn, Etc. It's far from perfect but the new owner will get a Grand National that has a clear carfax & has good bones with low miles to start with. Check my feedback. I described it exactly as it is. Bid with confidence! Email me any questions. Thanks! Lisa RESERVE IS LOW & WILL REMAIN ANONYMOUS SO DON"T ASK. IF YOU HAVE THE FUNDS THEN BID. NO DREAMERS :) & YOU WON'T BE DISAPPOINTED. I TRIED TO LIST ALL THE FAULTS. SO IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS FEEL FREE TO SHOOT ME AN E MAIL. ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE YOU BID PLEASE. ANYONE WITH A FEEDBACK RATING OF 10 OR BELOW, JUST TOUCH BASE BEFORE BIDDING...IF NOT I WILL CANCEL YOUR BID. THE DEPOSIT AFTER AUCTION IS NONREFUNDABLE. IT NEEDS A THOROUGH GOING THROUGH TO BE STREETABLE AGAIN SO TOWING IS A MUST. AGAIN PLEASE ONLY BID IF YOUR SERIOUS. THANKS FOR LOOKING! |

Updated Buick LaCrosse, Regal to debut at New York Auto Show
Tue, 26 Feb 2013Judging by the spy shots we saw last week for the 2014 Buick LaCrosse and 2014 Buick Regal, we knew it wouldn't be much longer until we saw both sedans receive a grand debut. Today, Buick confirmed to Autoblog both cars will be introduced at the New York Auto Show next month, but no further information has yet been released about either model.
Having been on the market for an extra couple years, the changes to the LaCrosse appear to be more significant than those coming for the Regal, but both will be getting refreshed exterior designs as well as updated interiors. The Regal's new face brings it more in line with the all-new Encore and the restyled Enclave, while the LaCrosse should get a more distinctive, upscale appearance.
Both cars will be introduced exactly a month from today, and we'll be there to bring you all the coverage.
GM reportedly developing 2.5-liter turbo four-cylinder
Mon, May 15 2023General Motors is allocating a massive amount of resources to developing electric technology, but it's not forgetting about the gasoline-powered cars that make up the bulk of its sales. It's reportedly designing a new 2.5-liter turbocharged four-cylinder engine based on its 2.7. Citing "sources familiar with the matter," enthusiast website GM Authority wrote that the 2.5-liter four is "in [the] final stages of development," meaning it should be announced sooner rather than later (assuming the report is accurate). Technical details are few and far between as of writing. The publication learned that the 2.5 will be part of the Cylinder Set Strategy (CSS) family of engines and that it will be mechanically related to the 2.7-liter currently found in the Chevrolet Silverado 1500, among several other models. It will feature dual overhead camshafts. It's too early to tell which models the 2.5-liter four-cylinder will end up in, or how much power it will generate. The output will likely depend on the application. For context, the 2.7 delivers 310 horsepower at 5,600 rpm and 348 pound-feet of torque between 1,500 and 4,000 rpm in the Silverado. In the smaller Colorado, it provides anywhere between 237 and 310 horsepower depending on the trim level selected. While this is pure speculation, our crystal ball tells us the engine will end up powering crossovers. It's an easy deduction to make. We can't imagine it will be offered in the Silverado, and seeing it in the Colorado is unlikely because its entry-level engine develops 237 horsepower; there's likely not much of a market for a midsize truck with 200 or so horsepower. Putting it in the Corvette wouldn't make sense and the Camaro has nearly reached the end of its life cycle without a successor planned. This leaves us with Chevrolet's range of crossovers, like the Equinox, as well as their GMC-, Buick-, and Cadillac-branded counterparts. We're not discounting the possibility that the cars set to receive the 2.5 haven't been unveiled, but those are likely crossovers, too; the odds of seeing another big Chevy sedan are very, very low. General Motors hasn't commented on the report, and it hasn't publicly announced plans to expand its CSS family of engines. If the report is accurate, we should learn more about the new turbocharged, 2.5-liter four-cylinder engine in the not-too-distant future. Buick's Velite 5 is a rebadged Chevy Volt for China
Mon, Mar 27 2017There's nary a mention of the famous Chevy Bowtie badge in Buick's press release for its new Velite 5. No shoutouts to the extended-range Volt, with which the Chinese-market Velite clearly borrows its hybrid gasoline/electric technology. But that's okay; to borrow an adage, if it looks like a duck, swims like a duck, and quacks like a duck, it's probably a duck. And, as you can see from the image above, the Buick Velite 5 is a duck Volt with a Tri-Shield badge. The Velite 5's 1.5-liter engine and lithium ion battery pack provide up to 466 miles of range, with the first 62 miles or so coming on battery power alone. That's more range than Chevy quotes for the Volt, so we're not sure what methodology Buick is using to calculate mileage. Still, even if it's more like the Volt's estimated range of 53 real-world miles, it would be enough for many Chinese drivers to avoid the gas station altogether. Buick showed off a Velite Concept late last year that doesn't appear to share much at all with this new Volt-based production model. But since the brand is promising more plug-ins and EVs in the coming years, we wouldn't be surprised to see further models carrying the Velite moniker, perhaps one based on the all-electric Chevy Bolt EV.
