1 of 2000 made. It was stripped and painted with a base/clear. Fiberglass bumper fillers, new marker lights, headlight bezels, 87 grill, and all new gaskets/seals. The floor pans have been POR'd and there is zero rust in the body. All original panels, doors, etc. It has GTA wheels, wide off-set in the back, normal off-set up front. It has 5/16 spacers up front with 2" studs. The rims were blasted, powered coated, and cleared and it has GNX center caps with the correct GM lugs with caps. The rims are wrapped in brand new Firestone tires. The interior is the Lier Ziegler (leather) with new front and rear seats. All plastic panels were cleaned and painted with the correct Sandstone Gray flex paint for plastic. The interior looks new but does have tiny imperfections but nothing of concern. It has a dual gauge piller with boost and knock gauge. The center console has oil and temp gauges. All gauges except for the knock gauge are Auto Meter. The speedometer and tach are off but I use the Scanmaster for those indicators. The car has 101,000 miles. I put an 1986 engine in it and it still retains the 84 tranny. I replaced the valve body and servo with one from an 86 (BRF). Tranny was rebuilt 2k miles ago and has the D5 converter. A 3200 stall will come with it. The engine has a new starter, alternator, AC compressor, 59mm turbo, 60lb inj., billet fuel regulator, 160 thermo, front mount intercooler, poly motor mounts, and 3" down pipe. I converted it to vacuum brakes and put aluminum drums on the back. I have the original engine, wiring harness, brackets, etc. It does have flaws as I have owned the car for 12 yrs and originally bought it in GA. Its spent most of the time in SC and OK and I dont drive it in the rain. The AC blows cool, not cold. Everything works even the cruise control. The vehicle is sold "as is".

Buick Velite 6 MAV is the brand's first all-electric vehicle
Mon, Apr 15 2019Buick is making a big splash at the 2019 Shanghai Motor Show. It just debuted the brand's first all-electric vehicle, dubbed the Velite 6 MAV, which is a production version of the concept we saw a year ago. The vehicle is reportedly built on a new platform GM developed with China's SAIC and will be sold in China. This platform uses a "new-generation pure electric drive system," but it's not based on the new electric vehicle platform GM said is going to underpin new electric cars in the U.S. starting in 2021. Consumers may not want it here anyways. The electric motor makes 114 horsepower and 188 pound-feet of torque. It has a "city" electric driving range of 187 miles, but Buick doesn't quote any numbers as they would pertain to our EPA rating system. That's plenty of range for most folks, but the lack of power would be a tough sell here. Buick calls this thing an MAV, which stands for multi-activity vehicle. It's tough to put a car type on it, because it borrows elements from several different styles. We'll just distill it to a mash-up between a wagon and a crossover, sort of like the Subaru Outback. At least it appears utilitarian. Buick says that it costs about $25,000 after all the Chinese government subsidies for an electric vehicle have been applied. The goal here is to give the Buick-hungry Chinese market an electric option, and this doesn't look half bad. GM is even entering into a car-sharing venture to deploy 5,000 Velite 6s with EVCARD (car sharing company) into strategic areas. Those will reportedly be put into operation on April 28 this year.
MotorWeek remembers the nearly forgotten Buick Reatta
Thu, Feb 18 2016The Reatta was Buick's failed experiment to take on European competitors with its own two-seat luxury coupe and convertible. The model only lasted a few years, and US customers didn't see another droptop from the brand until the Cascada. The latest MotorWeek Retro Review takes a look back at the short-lived roadster and remembers it quite fondly. Host John Davis calls the 1990 Reatta droptop "one of the best looking convertibles ever." His sentiment seems a little hyperbolic, but the roadster is definitely an attractive machine by the standards of the time. The smooth front end and pop-up headlights are reminiscent of Japanese sports cars of era, and the profile with the top down is elegant. There are weaknesses, though. The manual roof mechanism appears cumbersome to operate, and the crude digital instruments, which simulate physical dials, make the cabin look too dated. Other than a complaint about over-boosted power steering, MotorWeek enjoys how the Reatta drives, too. Buick's roadster is largely forgotten today, but such glowing praise suggests it deserves to be better remembered. Check out this Retro Review to look back on this interesting experiment from the early '90s. Related Video:
GM’s Charlie Wilson was right: Stronger regulations can help U.S. automakers
Fri, Oct 26 2018Charlie Wilson had been the president and CEO of General Motors before being nominated to become secretary of defense by Dwight Eisenhower. During his Senate confirmation hearings, he controversially said, "For years I thought what was good for our country was good for General Motors, and vice versa." And he was right. While car companies aren't necessarily the most progressive when it comes to things that might have the slightest possibility of political blowback, General Motors should be credited for doing something absolutely forthright in this regard with its announcement that it wants the federal U.S. government not to squash the California Air Resources Board's emissions requirements but to actually create a 50-state "National Zero Emissions Vehicle" program that, in the words of Mark Reuss, executive vice president and president, Global Product Group and Cadillac, "will drive the scale and infrastructure investments needed to allow the U.S. to lead the way to a zero emission future." Filing comments to the Safer Affordable Fuel-Efficient Vehicles Rule for Model Years 2021-2026 Passenger Cars and Light Trucks is one thing. But a graphic the company developed for this announcement — shown above — is something else entirely, something that is absolutely credible, creative and clever. There is a photo of a Chevrolet Bolt EV driving along a highway, which seems to be in Marin County (based on the blurred San Francisco skyline in the background). Text on the photo states: "It's Time for American Leadership in Zero Emissions Vehicles." It seems to say, in effect, "If we want to make America great again, then we're going to do it by leading in technology, not by retreating behind weakened regulations." General Motors understands that the auto market is globally competitive, and if U.S.-based companies are going to be in the game, then they'd better be able to out-innovate the companies based elsewhere, where emissions and economy standards are not being weakened. What's good for our country ... Related Video:
