1986 Buick Grand National, Original, 55k Miles on 2040-cars
Moultonborough, New Hampshire, United States
(GARAGED CAR: SOME PICTURES WERE TAKEN AFTER THE CAR WAS PULLED OUT OF A HEATED GARAGE FOR BETTER LIGHTING)
1986 Buick Grand National Just under 55,000 original miles Documented history: Owned from 89-2009 by a Maine police officer, sold to a collector in 2009 in the same Maine town, sold to me in 2013 (NH) This is a garaged car, that has not been exposed to the elements. Not molested and mostly original with the exception of the radio, and power antenna, and brakes were recently done, from what I can see. I do not see evidence of repaint and the car was sold me as having 'original paint' and familiarity back to 1989 with the local ownership history. As you can see by the pictures the car is very straight and beautiful. If you look at the roof line at the right angle you will see a few dings (I believe a dent doctor can remove this and the former owner said something fell from garage racks some year back). There are a few paint chips and several minor blemishes around the car that I would characterize as normal wear for a 55k mile car that is 28 years old. There is one 'nickel sized' chip that has moisturized into the beginning of surface rust that I am monitoring (see picture) in rear quarter panel. I've debated having this fixed. Headliner is excellent but is starting to sag in some places. Interior is exceptional: Very clean, no stains, wear, or evidence of smoking/food. Dash is near perfect. The car runs and drives as it should. 1986 is my personal favorite of the Grand Nationals due to the rarity and equal performance to the fastest of the cars. There is file of receipts, magazine with a road test from the 80's, and a car cover that comes with car. CARS IN THE STATE OF NH ARE NOT TITLED OVER 15 YEARS OF AGE, YOU WILL RECEIVE A BILL OF SALE + REGISTRATION (YOUR STATE SHOULD ACKNOWLEDGE THIS AND PROVIDE YOU WITH A TITLE IF YOU TITLE CARS IN YOUR STATE) SOLD 'AS-IS' If you have any questions: 603-715-7519 I PRODUCE THOSE MATS THAT THE CAR SITS ON IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN PERSONALIZING A BLUEPRINTED MAT FOR YOUR COLLECTIBLE! |

Buick Envision cabin detailed ahead of reveal later this month
Sun, 17 Aug 2014Buick teased the arrival of the China-market Envision last month and gave us a few specs, now it's teasing the midsize crossover's interior and features. Having said it will "set a new benchmark in terms of space, safety, performance and specifications," we're told that equipment like the heated leather steering wheel and Bose-sourced active noise cancellation are market firsts in the segment.
Elsewhere, light will shine on occupants through the panoramic roof during the day and via ice blue ambient lighting at night, and seating surfaces are being shown off with dual-stitched leather. Lane departure warning and parking assist help keep the bodywork in order, stop/start ignition fitted to the 2.0-liter turbo four-cylinder with 256 horsepower and 260 pound-feet will help keep fuel economy up. One more convenience for the model's core buyers: a tailgate that can be partially opened.
The Normal, Tour, Sport and Off-Road driving modes come courtesy of FlexRide, that last one - meant for extra-light-duty dirt work, naturally - appearing on a Buick for the first time.
Spy photos of the upcoming Buick Regal wagon, via the Opel Insignia
Fri, Nov 11 2016We're pretty sure Buick is working on a Regal wagon. And because the Regal is the Opel Insignia on the other side of the pond, these spy photos show us what's in store when it eventually turns into a Buick. The rakish wagon was lightly camouflaged, giving us our best look at the upcoming vehicle. The wagon shares a lot of the same design cues as the Insignia sedan that we spotted earlier. The bottom of the front end is covered in heavy camouflage, masking the wagon's grille. It's unsure to tell whether the black nostril-like pieces sitting above the grille are vents or just tape. The prototype still shares the same upright nose as the model we spotted earlier, giving the wagon a wider stance than its predecessor. The side profile of the wagon is sleeker, thanks to the extra four inches between the axles, than the current model is, with the design mimicking that of a shooting brake instead of a traditional wagon. The rear end of the wagon is also more upright with the taillights and bottom part of the fender jutting out beyond the glass. The boxy design sitting atop of the rear end doesn't match the rest of the vehicle and appears to be a part of the car's camouflage. With the tunnel-like design at the top gone, the rear end would have a more streamlined design. With the next Regal expected to continue on as a rebadged Insignia, the likelihood of a Regal Wagon in the US look good, but aren't set in stone. Late last year, Buick filed two trademarks for "Tourx" and "Regal Tourx," pointing towards a high-riding wagon with all-wheel drive. Imagine these spy shots with a taller suspension and some crossover-inspired trim pieces and you have a wagon that could take on the likes of the Subaru Outback and Audi Allroad. Buick Riviera Concept debuts in China
Fri, 19 Apr 2013It's nighttime in China, and Buick has just concluded an evening event the day before the first - and only - press day of the Shanghai Motor Show. The star of this evening's party was the Buick Riviera concept vehicle, a plug-in electric hybrid coupe that the automaker says gives a glimpse at its future design direction, not to mention resurrecting some nomenclature from the brand's history that includes a similarly named concept from 2007.
The shape of the Riviera is said to be inspired by water. While the traditional Buick "waterfall" grille is present, the front end gains a more aggressive note thanks to what appear to be vertical air inlets below each headlight.
As for the concept's drivetrain, Buick says it uses General Motors' new dual-mode wireless plug-in hybrid electric vehicle propulsion system, or W-PHEV for short. The keyword there is 'wireless,' as the Riviera can charge its onboard battery packs with a traditional cable or wirelessly via a "sensory recharge panel" underneath the car.
