IM SELLING ONE OF MY WELL KEPT TREASURES FROM MY COLLECTION. UNFORTUNATELY WITH TWO HARLEYS, 4 OTHER CONVERTIBLES INCLUDING A 1967 MUSTANG CONVERTIBLE, A BOAT 4 KIDS, ETC.ETC. I HAVE NOT TAKEN THIS CAR OUT FOR MORE THAN AN HOUR OR SO, SINCE LAST YEAR. IM NOT USING IT ENOUGH, AND I DONT WANT ALL MY HARD WORK TO GO TO WASTE. THE 430 CID MOTOR RUNS PERFECT. SOUNDS GREAT ALSO, ESPECIALLY AFTER THE $1000 DUAL EXHAUST SYSTEM I INSTALLED TWO YEARS AGO. IT HAS A BRAND NEW TOP, INSTALLED TWO YEARS AGO WHEN I REDID THE CAR. $1500. IT WAS ALSO REPAINTED AT THE SAME TIME AT THE COST OF $5800. Next Buick Regal to inherit styling cues from Opel Monza concept
Mon, 06 Oct 2014Ever look at a concept car from a foreign auto marque like Opel and wonder what relevance it will have to you as an American consumer? Well, we'll tell you: at least as far as the Opel Monza concept goes, it could mean a lot.
Speaking with Automotive News at the Paris Motor Show, Opel chief Karl-Thomas Neumann said, "You will see the Monza when you see the next Insignia." And the Insignia, we needn't point out, is essentially ported over to American showrooms as the Buick Regal.
The relationship between the Regal and Insignia only stands to grow closer as Opel design chief Mark Adams has also been charged with tightening the bonds between the two automakers positioned on opposite shores of the Atlantic. Adams also intends to imbue the next Insignia with more "premium brand values" in order to "add polish to the brand." Which in turn means that the Regal will be designed to look more upscale, too.
GM issues four new recalls, 2.4 million cars affected
Tue, 20 May 2014General Motors has announced another set of recalls, covering some 2.42 million cars in the United States. For those keeping track, The General has now recalled over 15 million cars worldwide this year due to various issues.
Here's the breakdown for this most recent set of recalls:
1,339,355 - Buick Enclave, Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia models from the 2009 to 2014 model years; Saturn Outlook models from the 2009 to 2010 model years
Buick Verano to go turbo-only for 2014?
Sat, 22 Dec 2012If VIN tags recently posted online prove accurate, the 2014 Buick Verano may be getting a new base engine. Presently the Verano makes use of GM's 2.4-liter Ecotec four-cylinder engine in non-turbo trim; 2014 documentation appears to indicate that GM's entry-level luxury compact will instead feature a 1.6-liter turbocharged mill.
If this is the same engine seen in Europe, GM Inside News suggests it may offer 192 horsepower and 170 pound-feet of torque - useful improvements over the larger naturally aspirated mill's 180 hp and 171 lb-ft. More importantly, the downsized engine would likely improve on the Verano's current fuel mileage estimates of 21 city and 31 highway.
We like the Verano in both of its current iterations, but the 1.6 turbo engine sounds like a worthwhile upgrade if this reports turns out to be true. Plus, if more performance is your bag, baby, there's always the Verano's optional 2.0 turbo engine with an impressive 250 horsepower and 260 lb-ft from just 2.0 liters of displacement.
