Beautiful driver, cruise night car. Not a show car, but could be made one for a little investment. Was a stock 2bbl 350ci Skylark. Have over $11000.00 in receipts for work done along with DVD from shop showing work. Basically was making a Stage 1 GS350. T/A Performance power pack and cam. 3.73 gears. Upper half of engine rebuilt. Has Rochester Q-Jet instead of Holly. Covertible top in excellent condition, no stains or tears. Plastic rear window clear. Could use new seals ($200) but have driven in a Florida downpour and stayed dry! Has full Global West tubular front and rear suspension, 4 wheel slotted / drilled disc brakes. Rides and handles like a modern sedan ( Altima, etc.) Ice cold A/C converted to R-134. Aftermarket fiberglass GS Ram-Air hood with hood tach & Ram-Air air cleaner. New tires and brakes. Wheels show some minor rust. New 15x8 from Summit are $205 each. Black carpet in great shape. No visible wear. Has aftermarket stereo and speakers. Supports Sirius and MP3 players. Interior original in Pearl and although no rips in seats, some discoloration and center armrest plastic is broken. Cut in dashpad on passenger side. Frame, floors, trunk all solid. No rust. Could use higher stall coverter as new cam raised power band or better yet, drop in a 700R4 and cruise down the highway all day.

Buick Envision aces IIHS crash tests
Tue, Sep 27 2016If you had any qualms about the safety of a Chinese-built car, set them aside. At least when it comes to the Buick Envision. The Insurance Institute for Highway Safety (IIHS) has tested the new GM crossover and it passed with flying colors. The Envision is the first Chinese-built Buick sold in the States, and it's also the first Chinese-built car the organization has ever tested. In what is an impressive feat for any new automobile, it earned the IIHS TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating. This means the crossover comes equipped with a forward collision warning system and earned "Good" marks in all types of collisions, including the difficult small overlap crash test. In addition to the forward collision warning system, an automatic emergency braking system is available on the Envision. Eleven other vehicles earned the TOP SAFETY PICK+ rating, including models from Volvo, Lincoln, Acura, Audi, Mercedes-Benz, Lexus and Infiniti. That's good company, and combined with a pleasant, if not world-beating, driving experience, should make the Envision a car worth consideration. Related Video:
J.D. Power study sees new car dependability problems increase for first time since 1998
Wed, 12 Feb 2014For the first time since 1998, J.D. Power and Associates says its data shows that the average number of problems per 100 cars has increased. The finding is the result of the firm's much-touted annual Vehicle Dependability Study, which charts incidents of problems in new vehicle purchases over three years from 41,000 respondents.
Looking at first-owner cars from the 2011 model year, the study found an average of 133 problems per 100 cars (PP100, for short), up 6 percent from 126 PP100 in last year's study, which covered 2010 model-year vehicles. Disturbingly, the bulk of the increase is being attributed to engine and transmission problems, with a 6 PP100 boost.
Interestingly, JDP notes that "the decline in quality is particularly acute for vehicles with four-cylinder engines, where problem levels increase by nearly 10 PP100." Its findings also noticed that large diesel engines also tended to be more problematic than most five- and six-cylinder engines.
GM China President says automaker could export vehicles from China to US
Sat, 20 Apr 2013At a press conference on Saturday at the Shanghai Motor Show, General Motors announced plans to further expand its presence in the Chinese market. Among those commitments are plans to build four new plants by the end of 2015, giving the automaker the capacity to produce around five million vehicles a year in the country.
In order to make the most of that expansion, GM is adding 400 dealerships in China this year alone (for a total of 4,200 sales points), and it's eyeing 5,100 dealers by 2015. Yet not all of that production will stay in China - GM is planning to increase exports as well. Officials estimate the company will export somewhere between 100,000 and 130,000 Chinese-built vehicles this year - a record. And it's gunning for more.
Autoblog asked GM China president Bob Socia (above) if that means the company might eventually export new vehicles built in China to the United States, and he responded:
