1971 Buick GS 455 Tribute Car....built 455 engine has a TA performance camshaft, high volume oil pump, 850 Proform double pumper carb. Edelbrock aluminum intake, proform HEI distributor, MSD 6AL ignition, stainless longtube headers, 3 inch custom mandrel bent turbo dual exhaust, built turbo 400 with 3200 stall converter and shift kit, holley fuel system, 12 bolt posi rear end with 411 gears, Weld Draglite wheels with brand new 275/60/15 Mickey Thomson Drag Radials, Very powerful!!...This car has factory power disc brakes, power steering, A/C { will need compressor}, and bucket seats. All lights, blinkers, dash lights, vent controls, etc.. work properly{ perfect dash}. In the past year over $4000 has been spent on completely disassembling the car and having all body work done professionally. All body bushings have been replaced as well as the driver lower rear qtr. panel replacement, since that was the only rust on car.. { solid floors, trunk, window channels, etc}....extremely solid and straight !!{ no expense spared }. The drivetrain was built prior to me purchasing, but no expense spared!! This car is an unfinished project that I cannot finish due to a divorce. I had plans to clone it fully to a GSX... In my most honest opinion {as backed by my feedback score}... to finish the car it needs... blocking and painting, weatherstripping, an interior kit, chassis detailing, and a good tuning. The engine backfires thru carb. at WOT, I have replaced all electronics other than MSD, {which could be shorting out}, or possible carb. issues, I honestly haven't researched it any further. However it does crank, run and drive OK other than that issue. Once again this car is an unfinished project, but a very easy and cheap one to finish, since most of the major expense has been done. I have all trim, and an extra gauge cluster as well.... With that being said...in no way, form, or fashion am I representing this car to be a restored, showroom condition car, or even close. It will need finishing. I haven't cut any corners restoring my cars, and have sold many on eBay with great feedback from buyers. So I am being as straight forward and honest as I can be. If you have any questions or concerns before bidding, feel free to contact me by email or phone at 229-402-0574............In Georgia no title is required on vehicles past 1985....only insurance, bill of sale and current Ga. registration, which all other states honor as long as registration is current. I have all of these current!

2013 Buick Verano Turbo

Thu, 03 Jan 2013

Not Luxury. Not Sport. Not Buick. Not Bad.
Those of you who still think of the Buick Verano as some sort of callously badge-engineered, gussied up version of the Chevrolet Cruze ("Why would anyone spend that much money on Buick's Cruze?" you may have been heard to mutter) have got the wrong idea. Entirely. Even in its most modest form, the Verano turns out to be a sedan that is feature-rich, insulated from wind and road noise in proper luxury car fashion, pretty good to drive and not bad to look at in the new school of high-nosed pedestrian-impact-regulated fashion. In a less modest form then, one that attaches the word "Turbo" to the moniker and plops a force-fed 2.0-liter four-cylinder under the hood, the Verano is downright interesting.
Of course, "interesting" is rarely a descriptor that fills one with lust - and so it goes with this example. There are two competing forces within this near-premium subcompact sedan, and the balance struck between them must resonate with any potential customer before the Verano Turbo can become a serious purchase consideration.

2020 Buick Encore, Encore GX set for Shanghai debut

Tue, Apr 2 2019

Buick says it will debut the all-new 2020 Encore small crossover and new-for-China Encore GX compact crossover at the Buick Brand Night April 15 in Shanghai on the eve of Auto Shanghai 2019. They'll join the updated 2020 LaCrosse and LaCrosse Avenir sedans, which GM is discontinuing here in the U.S. Buick released a darkened teaser image of both vehicles in rear three-quarters view, though it's a little hard to tell which is which (we're going with the GX being the one on the right). It suggests the Encore gets more streamlined taillights that taper along the rear liftback, with some redesigned creases on the door panels and haunches. The latter don't appear to be present on the Encore GX, which Buick says is a new addition to the model series in China. Both will be offered with GM's new nine-speed Hydra-Matic and continuously variable transmissions, plus what Buick says will be "enhanced connectivity," including new technologies. They'll join the Envision and Enclave for China, which is Buick's largest market. First introduced in 2013, The Encore was last refreshed for 2017. It has been the top-selling Buick model in the U.S. for the past 3 years, with 93,073 sold last year, up 5.7% from 2017.

U.S. new-vehicle sales in 2018 rise slightly to 17.27 million [UPDATE]

Thu, Jan 3 2019

DETROIT — Sales of new vehicles in the U.S. rose slightly in 2018, defying predictions and highlighting a strong economy. Automakers reported an increase of 0.3 percent over a year ago to 17.27 million vehicles. The increase came despite rising interest rates, a volatile stock market, and rising car and truck prices that pushed some buyers out of the new-vehicle market. Industry analysts and automakers said strong economic fundamentals pushed up sales and should keep them near historic highs in 2019. "Economic conditions in the U.S. are favorable and should continue to be supportive of vehicle sales at or around their current run rate," Ford Chief Economist Emily Kolinski Morris said after the company and other automakers announced their sales numbers Thursday. That auto sales remain near the 2016 record of 17.55 million is a testimonial to the strength of the economy, said Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's Analytics. The job market, he said, has created new employment, and wage growth has accelerated. "That's fundamental to selling anything," he said. "If there are lots of jobs and people are getting bigger paychecks, they will buy more." The unemployment rate is 3.7 percent, a 49-year low. The economy is thought to have grown close to 3 percent last year, its best performance in more than a decade. Consumers, the main driver of the economy, are spending freely. The Federal Reserve raised its key interest rate four times in 2018 but is only expected to raise it twice this year. Auto sales also were helped by low gasoline prices and rising home values, Zandi said. It all means that people are likely to keep buying new vehicles this year even as they grow more expensive. The Edmunds.com auto-pricing site estimates that the average new vehicle price hit a record $35,957 in December, about 2 percent higher than the previous year. It will be harder for automakers to keep the sales pace above 17 million because they have been enticing buyers for several years now with low-interest financing and other incentives, Zandi said. He predicts more deals in the coming year as job growth slows and credit tightens for higher-risk buyers. Edmunds, which provides content, including automotive tips and reviews, for distribution by The Associated Press, predicts that sales will drop this year to 16.9 million.
