A LITTLE HISTORY ABOUT THE CAR THROUGH OUR DETECTIVE WORK....
THE 1ST OWNER OF THE CAR RESIDED IN CALIFORNIA... SUBSEQUNTLY THE CAR MADE ITS WAY TO DELAWARE- WHERE IT SPENT MOST OF ITS LIFE CAMPAIGNING QUITE A SUCCEESSFULLY ON THE LOCAL DRAG SCENE.... THE INFO WE RECEIVED FROM ITS MOST RECENT OWNER WAS THAT THE ORIGINAL MOTOR WAS LONG GONE AND IN IT'S PLACE WAS AN OVER THE COUNTER STAGE 1 MOTOR - THAT PUT THIS CAR IN THE HIGH 11'S FOR SEVERAL YEARS... UNFORTUNATELY THE LOCAL DEALER WHO RACED THE CAR HURT THE MOTOR BEYOND REPAIR AND THE CAR SAT IN THE GARAGE TILL AROUND 1980 WHEN THE CURRENT OWNER BROUGHT THE CAR BACK TO LIFE. CURRENTLY THE CAR RETAINS A 1970 BUICK 350hp 455 MATED TO A NON-ORIGINAL MUNCIE TRANSMISSION....
THE POWERTRAIN RUNS, SHIFTS, AND SOUNDS AS THE ORIGINAL DRIVETRAIN SHOULD... MAYBE BETTER !!!!

THE CAR RETAINS THE ORIGINAL REAREND LIMITED SLIP WITH 3.64 GEARS...
THE TRUNK IS NICELY DETAILED AND DOES STILL RETAIN ONE OF THE ORIGINAL TIRES AS A SPARE !!!
AS YOU CAN SEE IN THE PICS- THE CARS MOST RECENT OWNER WAS ABLE TO SALVAGE THE ORIGINAL STAGE 1 DECALS OFF OF THE AIR CLEANER THAT HE FOUND IN THE TRUCK WHEN HE ACQUIRED CAR....
IT ALSO HAD ORIGINAL SATGE 1 EMBLEMS ON THE CAR THAT WERE REPLACED DURING THE RESTORATION - WHICH FURTHER SUBSTANTIATES ITS DRAG STRIP HERITAGE...
THE CAR RETAINS ITS FACTORY TACH ( WORKS) AND GAUGES...
THE FACTORY RALLY WHEELS ARE IN BEAUTIFUL SHAPE AS WELL AS THE CORRECT CENTER CAPS...
WITH THE EXCEPTION OF NEW FRONT SEAT COVERS- THE REST OF THE INTERIOR IS ORIGINAL ... INCLUDING THE CARPET !!!!
THE BUMPERS HAVE BEEN RE-CHROMED AND LOOK FANTASTIC.... THE CHROME AROUND THE WINDOWS, ROCKER TRIM, AND WHEEL WELLS ARE JUST AS BEAUTIFUL !!!!
THIS CAR SCREAMS QUALITY !!!!
TO THE BEST OF OUR KNOWLEDGE THE ONLY STAGE 1 PARTS THAT IT STILL POSSESSES ARE THE STAGE 1 AIR CLEANER, AND STAGE 1 INTAKE.....

2021 Buick Envision First Drive | A successful sequel
Wed, Feb 24 2021The 2021 Buick Envision inaugurates the second generation of what GM's premium division hopes will become the staple of its all-crossover lineup. The original Envision, while reasonably competent, suffered from ungainly styling and struggled to separate itself from its reputation as the built-in-China Buick. Bundle that with a brand that has (at best) an on-again, off-again relationship with being interesting and you have a recipe for “Who cares?” No longer, says Buick. While itÂ’s still assembled in China, the 2021 Envision gets a new platform, a new powertrain, and a complete styling overhaul. Feeling a little deja vu? ThatÂ’s reasonable. Buick gave us a promising first look at the new Envision last summer, but thanks to, well, you know, 2020, weÂ’re only now getting our hands on the final product, and if we were intrigued in June, weÂ’re impressed in February. BuickÂ’s first attempt at a compact CUV was not particularly impressive, especially when it came to design. The Equinox-in-a-dinner-jacket thing never really worked and weÂ’re happy to say that the second effort is a huge improvement. The new look is genuinely attractive. Like the Enclave, the Envision borrows cues from the Avenir concept whose name BuickÂ’s product planners appropriated to denote the brandÂ’s top-trim variants. It works. Power comes from a 2.0-liter, turbocharged inline-four producing 228 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque as its only available engine. Front-wheel drive is standard; a twin-clutch all-wheel-drive system is optional. Both setups utilize a nine-speed automatic transmission. Your author managed an average of 23 mpg over the course of a 60-mile test loop against EPA estimates of 22 mpg city, 29 mpg highway and 25 mpg combined. FWD models are rated at 24/31/26, respectively. Size-wise, the Envision is a bit of an odd duck. One could teach an undergrad course on GMÂ’s two-row crossover ecosystem, but suffice it to say that itÂ’s a bit more closely related to the Chevrolet Blazer than it is to the Equinox this time around, despite being closer in size to the latter. Within the luxury realm, its length and wheelbase are a few inches shorter than those of larger compact models like the Volvo XC60, Acura RDX and BMW X3, but its rear legroom is greater than them all. It's actually closer in that measurement to the midsize Lincoln Nautilus.
2021 Buick Envision is a vision of Buick's future that's shockingly stylish
Fri, May 29 2020Allow us to introduce you to the new and much improved 2021 Buick Envision. Don’t let the handsome shape and sharp design fool you. This compact crossover is a Buick. The Envision has been a frumpy and rather boring looking crossover since its launch for the 2017 model, and now GM has remedied that sticking point. This new made-in-China (the first Buick sold in America that was assembled there) crossover is full of sharp edges, muscular lines arcing through the body and crisp lighting fixtures. ItÂ’s verging on European in nature. If this is a hint of things to come at Buick, we are quite optimistic for the future of its crossover designs now that the cars are dead. “The 2021 Envision will be lower and wider, with premium proportions and striking styling designed to combine the expressiveness of a car with the practicality of an SUV,” said Helen Emsley, executive director, Global Buick and GMC Design. Perhaps youÂ’re hoping for additional details? We only have a few. Buick says it will be powered by a 2.0-liter turbocharged four-cylinder, and shifting duties will be handled by a nine-speed automatic transmission. ItÂ’s likely the same 2.0-turbo that makes 252 horsepower and 295 pound-feet of torque in the outgoing Envision. ThereÂ’s no word on the 2.5-liter naturally aspirated four-cylinder model, but itÂ’s likely being dropped from the lineup. There are no interior photos, but itÂ’ll have a 10-inch infotainment screen in the center that comes with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto functionality as standard equipment. There will also be a number of safety and driver assistance features tacked on as standard including lane-keeping assist, forward collision warning with automatic emergency braking and pedestrian detection, rear parking sensors and GMÂ’s safety alert seat that pulses directionally for alerts. Some options include a 360-degree camera, front parking sensors, rear cross-traffic alert, blind-spot warning, head-up display and GMÂ’s rearview camera mirror. Buick also says the Envision will be available in their top-tier Avenir trim. Other details will have to wait for later in the year, as Buick says all will be revealed at some point down the road. Consider this a preview with a few tasty bites of info about whatÂ’s to come. For now, weÂ’re liking the direction that Buick is taking this crossover. Related video:
GM mulling Chevy Cruze hatchback for US, Buick 'Panamera' among other new models
Fri, 08 Nov 2013We've spoken at length previously about the fallacy of poor hatchback sales in the US, and with the runaway success of its Chevrolet Cruze sedan, it's somewhat unsurprising to hear that General Motors is rethinking its decision not to sell an overseas five-door variant in North America as it looks to plug a number of holes in its lineup. GM North American President Mark Reuss admitted during a media luncheon this week that not offering the model "... was a pre-bankruptcy planning mistake," says Forbes. With the next-generation model already well-along in development, it's likely that the current Cruze hatch (shown above) won't see US dealers.
Reuss admits not offering the model "was a pre-bankruptcy planning mistake"
In what must have been a far-reaching conversation, Reuss hinted at a number of new products for many GM brands, including "a much more beautiful Panamera" range-topper for Buick (which sounds a bit like the line of reasoning the TriShield brand has been pursuing with its Riviera concepts) and a "Ford Transit Connect-fighter" to supplant the recently announced badge-engineered Chevy City Express from Nissan.
