This has been a great vehicle that I Bought 8 years ago to restore but things change don't they. Starting with chassis motor is fine rebuilt about 3000 miles ago tuned up inc carb rebuild 6 months ago. Motor does leak oil just like any motor of this era. Radiator has been replaced for aluminum one. Trans shifts fine and clutch works fine but trans also leaks some dope out of the old enclosed drive shaft yoke. Rear end is fine. Brakes are great just put new spring kit and shoes on front when tuned up rear is fine. Car runs down the road at 50 mph fine. Charge system new battery, battery cables, regulator rebuilt gen and works fine. Starter rebuilt and vacuum start cylanoid replaced oem. Wheels and tires totally reworked New rings, caps, tires Coker radials and rims re painted 200 miles ago. Paint is probably the worst part of the car 20 foot away looks great close up every panel has a scratch or so paint is aged probably about 15 or 20 yeas old. on a scale 1 to 10 probably about a 5.Sheet metal is great does show some small old repairs. Rockers where installed badly at one time I have new oem outer and inners that go with car the trunk has a dime size hole in it that was patched but you can see from bottom. No missing trim. Steering wheel redone and center just replaced oem 6 months ago. weather strips are in about 85 percent condition most like new. Interior is all there dash and gauges look great odometer has stop turning and clock as well, door panels are in good condition, seats are aged good and faded carpet is cheap but in ok shape, radio even works. Top and power windows work great power seat cylinder is leaking but will be in car before sale. Top is in good shape no holes but both sides where it folds seam have become unstitched material its self looks great. All original except for radiator ,and fan have original fan but haven't found a radiator. Everything works except clock which I have had running but stops, odometer and right turn acts up. Buyer responsible for shipping and must be paid for before. I do have extra parts if car gets up to satisfactory amount which I will post. Oem grille, oem tail lamp lens, oem wiper towers two sets, oem fuel pump, oem head lamp assembly's all new. Rebuilt top pump about 6 molding fender sides, rear fender short mold, one door mold other replaced, front valance panel, rocker matt and other stuff I would have to look thru to see what else. |

Buick Adam a reality after all... but only in China
Mon, 03 Mar 2014General Motors may have parred down its brand portfolio, but it still has more under its umbrella than most. That's why, while a company like Ford might market the same vehicle under its own name in markets around the world, GM uses different brands in different markets. But no two are aligned quite as closely as Opel in Europe and Buick in the United States and China.
What we know here as the Buick Regal is sold overseas as the Opel Insignia. Our Encore is their Mokka. Verano? Astra sedan. But one thing we don't get here is the Opel Adam. The diminutive city car is GM's take on the Mini Cooper, Fiat 500, Citroën DS3 et al. Launched at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, the Opel Adam is named after the company's founder (like an ironic thumbing of the nose to the Ferrari Enzo). But while it's sold, like most Opels, in the UK as a Vauxhall, the prospect of it porting over to Buick seems slim to none. Right?
Sorta. While the Adam isn't likely to come Stateside, the latest reports (as yet unconfirmed by GM) suggest that The General is planning to sell the Adam in China where the Buick brand is also a strong seller. Local production could ensue, with prices targeting the Fiat 500 and engines - according to CarNewsChina.com - to include inline-fours displacing 1.2 and 1.4 liters with 69 and 100 horsepower, respectively.
Why Buick's future lies in China
Mon, Apr 10 2017Back in the last half of 2008 and into 2009, when General Motors was looking at too much capacity for too few customers, when it was running out of money and needing to go to the governments of the US and Canada and to the UAW for financial support, its management team was pretty much instructed by the feds to focus resources on what would create the best likelihood for a return on the investments and guarantees that it was getting. Things needed to be cut, and not just the corporate air fleet. This led to the elimination of Saturn, Hummer and Pontiac and the sale of Saab to Spyker. What remained of GM's North American brand portfolio was Chevrolet, Buick, Cadillac, and GMC. (Oldsmobile had been shuttered in 2004.) There were a variety of opinions regarding which brands GM should keep/lose during the midst of the Great Recession. Some thought GMC should be axed, but then it was pointed out that GMC essentially produced high-content Chevys, which resulted in fantastic transaction costs. Lots of money in the back of those pickups. Others thought Buick should be eliminated. The rationale was: Chevy was the mass-market brand, Cadillac was the luxury brand, and GMC helped leverage the company's investment in trucks. (Yes, even back then the F-Series was winning the pickup sales race, so it was always a matter of adding Silverado and Sierra sales to show that GM was solidly in the game.) So what was Buick? Better than Chevy but not as good as a Cadillac? Somehow that doesn't seem to be a particularly aspirational position to hold. But Buick's identity didn't need to be worked out in 2008-09 because there was a single compelling reason to keep it: China. According to official GM history, Pu Yi, the last emperor of China, Dr. Sun Yat-sen, the first provisional president of China, and Zhou Enlai, a Chinese premier, "Either owned, drove or were driven in Buick automobiles." What's more: "According to statistics from the Shanghai government, in 1930 one out of every six cars on the city's roads was a Buick." Which is to say that Buick got to China early and has a major presence in that market. When the Regal Sportback and Regal TourX were being unveiled at the GM Design Dome the first week of April, Duncan Aldred, vice president of Global Buick, gave a briefing of Buick's place on the automotive landscape.
Buick Cascada dies the death everyone expected
Sun, Feb 17 2019Four months ago, the Grim Reaper came for the Opel Cascada. Groupe PSA, which bought Opel from General Motors in 2017, announced the two-door convertible would be phased out. On sale here since 2016 as the Buick Cascada, GM told us it had nothing to say about PSA's announcement. On Friday, the U.S. automaker spoke up, telling Automotive News the droptop "has reached the end of its originally-planned lifecycle and 2019 will be the last model year offered. Dealers have been notified and many will have stock through the rest of this year." Buick paid big money to advertise its first convertible since the 1991 Reatta. Buick threw money at Super Bowls ads and a gaggle of celebrities two years in a row. And when sales began in 2016, Buick enlisted The Unbreakable Kimmy Schmidt star Ellie Kemper for a series of television and online spots. U.S. dealers have been instructed to file final orders this month, and production will continue at the factory in Poland until this summer. Yet the fact we're in February and dealers are predicted to have stock for the next ten months says everything necessary about the state of play. The brand sold roughly 17,000 units in three years, and both 2017 and 2018 saw sales declines of more than 25 percent. Buick didn't expect huge sales from the import, though, and the Cascada earned conquest buyers. A spokesman said, "The Cascada has played its role in the portfolio perfectly, outselling many other premium convertibles while bringing in [6 of every 10] buyers from outside GM." Last we heard, the LaCrosse ceases production next month. Unless the situation changes before the end of the year, Buick will have only the Regal on its passenger car books come 2020. GM will only have two convertibles in its portfolio worldwide, the Chevrolet Camaro and Corvette. Related Video:
