NO RESERVE auction absolute sale sold to highest bidder 2002 Buick Rendezvous showing 181,300 on odometer with mileage subject to vary with test drives and inspections. This a very good running SUV that achieves outstanding gas mileage for its size and capacity. This small SUV packs a punch with its 3rd row of seating allowing you to fit 7 people in the vehicle. I am 6' 200 lbs and while it isn't the best of comforts I am able to get in and sit in the 3rd row. It's more designed for smaller people but I could make a short trip in the 3rd row. I have driven this vehicle and it drives very well. The ac blows cold the heat blows hot. It drives straight down the road and the cruise control works. During our inspections we have replaced the brakes on all 4 wheels. So you have new rotors and pads all the way around! No brake worries for a long time. Through my driving I did notice a few minor things that were not bothersome to me and would be very minor repairs should they be an issue to you. The drivers side rear window is not functioning. Power locks not functioning, doors do lock manually. The rear seat is a 50/50 split, the pass side doesn't lock into the upright position it's is either folded flat or it is in a reclined position while sitting in that spot. This side also has a paint stain as you can see in the photo. As with any used car it has its scratches and surface blemishes,mi ask that you refer to the pictures for those. Mechanically the vehicle seems to be very sound and operational. Tires are in good shape I'd say around 60%. Brakes are 100% brand new. Engine runs very strong and transmission drives and shifts smoothly throughout all of its gears. At highway speeds 70 mph set the cruise and relax. It doesn't have any abnormal shakes or vibrations. I am offering this at absolutely no reserve and I will sell to the highest bidder so please bid early and don't miss out! If you would like to test drive or inspect please do so before the auction ends as if you are the high bidder you will be the Proud new owner. My name is Breeze and I can be reached at 262-721-8191 with any questions or to meet you for an inspection or test drive. If you are going to have this truck shipped, I would be happy to work with your auto carrier company, I would also be happy to give you a quote on auto shipping if needed just let me know. ATTENTION WI RESIDENTS: you are buying from a licensed WI dealer, upon arrival you will have the opportunity to look the car over and determine that it was as described. This is a no reserve auction, your bid is your agreement to buy plus tax, title and registration fees. ATTENTION Non WI RESIDENTS: you are buying from a licensed WI dealer, upon arrival you will have the opportunity to look the car over and determine it was as described. I will NOT collect any sales tax or registration fees for your state. You will be provided with a complete used motor vehicle purchase contract (bill of sale) and the original title will be handed to you upon exchange for payment. A temporary tag is your option it is $50 extra at your option. A wisconsin temp tag is valid for 30 days. This will allow you to legally operate this vehicle to drive home. A valid drivers license and proof of insurance MUST be provided in order to obtain a temporary tag. This is a no reserve auction, your bid is your agreement to buy. If you have questions or would like to see the truck in person and test drive it please contact me, my name is Breeze 262-721-8191 A couple other things regarding some questions that may come up about the pictures: The photo of the dash shows battery light and check engine.....the key is off that is why those lights are on. If you see rpm gauge you can see it is not running. I just turned on key to get photo of mileage. The last 2 pictures of air comp and jack. The covers are there I just took covers off so you could view that the jack was in place and that there was an air compressor and power outlet behind the other one. Again if you have any questions call me Breeze 262-721-8191 thanks |

Junkyard Gem: 1957 Buick Special Riviera Sedan
Sat, Oct 23 2021While I find plenty of 1950s Detroit cars in quick-inventory-turnover self-service wrecking yards during my travels, they tend to be the ordinary post sedans that were built by the millions during the heyday of the three-on-the-tree manual transmission and nuclear-attack symbols on car radios. The more sought-after convertibles, coupes, and four-door hardtops are tougher to find in such yards, which makes today's 1957 Buick Special Riviera in a yard in northeastern Colorado an A-List Junkyard Gem. During the late 1950s, the Special ranked at the bottom of the Buick prestige hierarchy just below the more upscale Super and Century. Of course, this was the era of Alfred Sloan's "Ladder of Success" and the lowliest Special outranked even the nicest Olds Ninety-Eight on the Swank-O-Meter. If you were the Buick-driving Joneses and your neighbors had proletarian Chevrolets, aspirational Pontiacs, or petit-bourgeois Oldsmobiles, they were failing to keep up with you… but then you'd see a new Cadillac and feel intense envy for your victorious rival. The Ladder of Success collapsed later on, when the top-trim-level Chevy Caprices began to compete against their Cadillac Calais big brother, but it was still standing tall in 1957. The Riviera name ended up being used for its own distinct model starting in 1963 and continuing nearly into our current century, but in 1957 it was a trim level designation, used to indicate a Century or Special sedan with the then-radical pillarless hardtop design. This car listed at $2,780, which comes to a cool $27,630 in 2021 dollars. That price included the 364-cubic-inch (6.0-liter) Buick Nailhead V8 engine, rated at 250 horsepower and enough torque to peel 1957's rock-hard bias-ply tires right off their rims. The Special had a three-on-the-tree column-shift manual as standard equipment, but the original buyer of this car sprang for the extra $220 ($2,185 today) to get the Dynaflow transmission. While the shift indicator looks just like the ones on GM cars equipped with the two-speed Powerglide, the Dynaflow was an odd beast used only in Buicks; while it had gears for two forward speeds, the driver had to select low gear manually. Otherwise, a complex torque converter rig provided an experience something like today's CVTs (though with better smoothness and much more wasted power), in which the car stayed in high gear all the time and used the torque converter to multiply as needed.
Is Buick America's most daring mainstream car brand?
Wed, Jan 21 2015Considering Buick as an adventurous automaker seems a little odd at first thought. But with little fanfare over the last several years, the marque is transforming itself from a brand often associated with elderly drivers to a nameplate willing to take chances in niche segments. The gamble is already paying off with 2014 sales up 11.4 percent in the US to 228,963 cars. Given recent product launches, this experimentation is only likely to continue. The key to the transformation at Buick is its willingness to explore the so-called white space, according to Automotive News; the term refers to niches in the market without rivals as a challenge. In addition, the brand's position in the near-luxury space means that its products are cross-shopped by a large swath of customers. Without having a specific competitor, Buick has more room to experiment within its segment. "Designers love designing Buicks because it's not a paint-by-numbers brand," said Andrew Smith, director of design at Buick and Cadillac, to Automotive News. The company's strategy of going where others haven't is best exemplified by the Encore. The subcompact, luxury crossover came to market early, and Buick found serious success with it. The tiny CUV was the automaker's fastest growing model last year with a 53 percent gain and 48,892 units sold. With the test a triumph, the Encore recently got a sibling in the US in the form of the Chevrolet Trax. The upcoming Cascada is taking a similar approach. The non-sporty convertible segment is practically empty in the US, and this slightly redesigned product from Opel has the opportunity to become a leader in its niche. Of course, Buick's biggest recent surprise was the Avenir concept at the 2015 Detroit Auto Show. The car's swooping shape and use of materials earned it two EyesOn Design Awards against some tough competition. While the company's intentions for this flagship sedan aren't entirely clear yet, the vehicle does "test some of the future design language that will come on the next generation of Buicks," according to brand boss Duncan Aldred to Automotive News, which is definitely something to look forward to. 2018 Buick Enclave spied looking slim in Death Valley
Thu, Sep 8 2016The nine-year-old Buick Enclave is well past its prime, but this set of spy photos reveals that GM won't put the vehicle out of its misery, but will give the vehicle a large update instead. Our photographers managed to catch Buick testing a heavily-camouflaged 2018 Enclave testing below sea level near Death Valley. Buick was testing the prototype in Nevada earlier this year, but slapped a trailer onto the back of the SUV. Thanks to the camouflage that covers the badging, headlights, taillights, and hood, there's no way to confirm if the prototype is really a Buick or something from Chevrolet. But the circular outline on the grille has us leaning towards it being a Buick. Five LED running lights shine through the heavy camouflage, while Buick's iconic waterfall grille is prominently uncovered. The Enclave, which came out in 2008, shares the same platform as the GMC Acadia and Chevrolet Traverse. With the new Acadia slimming down and ditching the old Lambda platform in favor of the Chi platform, the Enclave will surely follow suit. The Enclave, though, is expected to get a stretched version of the Chi platform with three rows. While the entire body is concealed, the prototype's side profile looks to be slimmer than the current Enclave. With the addition of the new, lighter platform, the Enclave is expected to get GM's new 3.6-liter V6 with a nine-speed automatic transmission added later down the road. The new Enclave is expected to make its debut early next year as a 2018 model, which will be followed by the reveal of the Traverse shortly after.
