1987 Buick Regal Limited Turbo T on 2040-cars

1987 Buick Regal Limited Turbo-T. 1 of 1035 made. Car is stock except
for a Hooker cat-back exhaust. Astroroof, cruise, power windows and
locks, Concert Sound II, trunk carpet kit. I've had this car for 10
years and only drive it once every couple of months to keep everything
fresh. It would make a great daily driver, garage queen, or something to
modify since it's been untouched it's whole life. Over the past year I
replaced the speedometer cable, TCC solenoid, power window motors, battery, vacuum brake
conversion, and upgraded the stereo. I put Sony speakers in the front
doors and Pioneer 6x9's in the rear deck with the correct adapters. The
JVC headunit has HD Radio and an AUX input for mp3 players. I have the
stock headunit and Powermaster system still. The Powermaster can be
shipped back to Kirban Performance for a $100 credit. I bought this car with the intentions of having something to cruise around in on Sundays once in a while and it's been great for that. Fast forward ten years and now I have kids that are getting older and a basement that needs to be finished.
Car is clean and drives well. All stock except for the exhaust. I replaced it because the original mufflers were starting to rattle inside. I rebuilt the rubber exhaust hangar at the "Y" connection and replaced the transmission mount with an HRpartsNstuff poly mount because the rubber had deteriorated. Exhaust has a nice low rumble at idle and no drone while driving. It does have the test pipe in place as the cat suffered a casualty during removal. Brakes are awesome since the Kirban conversion. I had ONE near-miss with the garage door when I still had the Powermaster. I walked inside to my computer and ordered the conversion 5 minutes later. I replaced the speedo cable at the same time because I was working right by it and the speedo used to bounce. I did the speakers and power window motors at the same time too. The stereo sounds sooo much better than stock. Nothing fancy, just better than crumbled speakers. The Regal does not smell like an ash tray because I'm a non-smoker and as far as I can tell the previous owner was not as well. Full disclosure: The Regal is very original and clean but as any older car it is not perfect. I will list any problems here: Small dent in drivers door. There is paint checking on the decklid. You do have to look close to see it but it is there. The tops of the door panels and front seats is faded compared to the rest of the interior. Rear main seal has a small leak, takes about a week to get a few drops on the ground. A/C compressor is starting to get a little noisy. That just started this year. Still has R-12. No cat. I don't have IM testing here, but if you need a cat they can be purchased from gbodyparts.com I'm located about 45 minutes north of Salt Lake International airport so if you wanted to fly here and drive back I'd be willing to meet there, or if transporting I can deliver the car to a transporter in the Ogden or Salt Lake area. How tariffs in China could cause a meltdown in the American South
Sun, Aug 25 2019While BMW is clearly a German company, the crossovers that are exceedingly important to it are actually made in Spartanburg, South Carolina. And more than that, the Spartanburg plant (physically located in the town of Greer) is where the corporate know-how and capability for those vehicles is concentrated. These are the vehicles – specifically, the BMW X3, X4, X5, X6, X7 – that drove record growth for the company in 2018, according to BMW. But whatÂ’s most notable about BMW Group Plant Spartanburg, given current events, is that according to the U.S. Department of Commerce it was the largest automotive exporter by value for the fifth year running in 2018. ThatÂ’s worth emphasizing: largest automotive exporter by value. Not GM. Not Ford. BMW. And where might one assume that more than a few of those X vehicles are shipped to? China. Some 360 miles southwest of Spartanburg is Mercedes-Benz U.S. International, Inc., in in Tuscaloosa County, Alabama. It started building vehicles in 1997. Since then, Daimler AG has invested in excess of $5.5 billion in the facility. It manufactures the crossover now known as the GLE, formerly the ML-Class. It also makes the GLE coupe and GLS. Daimler describes the Tuscaloosa facility as “the traditional home of SUV production” for those vehicles. When it reported its global 2018 sales, Daimler noted that on a global basis SUVs account “for more than a third of all Mercedes-Benz sales.” According to the Chinese finance ministry, on December 15th the Chinese government will impose a 25% tariff on automobiles (and a 5% tariff on auto parts) from the U.S. Certainly this is going to have a direct effect on the sales of vehicles that are manufactured in the U.S. and exported to China. BMW and Mercedes are going to take it on the chin for the vehicles that they make in plants that they invested in so heavily in the U.S. Which could potentially mean that people in places like Greer, South Carolina, and Vance, Alabama, are going to find themselves in the crosshairs of the combatants. Soo too could Lincoln, which produces vehicles in places like Louisville, Kentucky (Navigator), Chicago, Illinois (Aviator) and Flat Rock, Michigan (Continental). Although the Tesla Gigafactory 3 is rapidly nearing completion in Shanghai, it is worth noting that vehicles built in Fremont, California, are being sold in China in numbers that donÂ’t make Musk unhappy.
Next-generation Buick Enclave spotted with Wildcat looks
Fri, Sep 15 2023The rollout of GM's next-generation three-row large SUVs is well under way with the reveals of the 2024 Chevy Traverse and GMC Acadia. Another vehicle on the platform is also getting a redesign soon, according to these spy photos: the Buick Enclave. It's still going to be big, and it will now receive the same sort of Wildcat concept-inspired styling as smaller Buicks such as the Envista and Encore GX. The Enclave's front is where the Wildcat connection is the most clear. It has the pointy shark nose and wide, frowning grille. It's hard to say whether it will get a mesh grille like some of the production SUVs, or a slatted grille like the concept. High up are slender daytime running lights with the actual illuminating headlights hidden lower in the outboard air intakes. We're not totally sure if this look will work on such a large, tall vehicle, but we'll reserve final judgment when we can see the car with all its paint and trim on display. The sides of the Enclave still have a fair bit of the Coke bottle curves that have appeared on every Enclave, if a bit more toned down. The greenhouse seems to take after the GMC Acadia more than the Traverse, as it seems it has a relatively thin C-pillar. The D-pillar looks quite thick, which will probably be toned down with judicious application of gloss black plastic. Details of the rear are difficult to make out. It seems to have slim, wide and curvy rear taillights. The rectangular exhaust tips are nicely fitted to the rear bumper. But that's about all that stands out. We're expecting the Enclave to have basically the same powertrain as the GMC Acadia, with the one engine offering being a turbocharged 2.5-liter four-cylinder with 328 horsepower and 326 pound-feet of torque. It should be paired with an eight-speed automatic and either front- or all-wheel drive. Odds are it will not get an off-road variant like the Acadia AT4 or Traverse Z71. But it might get a sportier road-going version that could take advantage of the torque-vectoring dual-clutch rear differential from those aforementioned off-roaders. It should also be revealed sometime next year with deliveries likely in the same year. Related video:
Buick Enclave gets continental makeover with Tuscan trim
Fri, Mar 27 2015Buick is trying to lend an air of Italian elegance to the Enclave with its newly announced Tuscan Edition that's available on the crossover for the 2016 model year. Named after the famously hilly and fertile region of Italy, the package brings some bronze accents to the CUV. As the very specific trademark filing for the Tuscan suggests, the special edition adds bronze trim to the uprights in the grille, and the metallic color finds its way into the embellishments on the 20-inch chrome wheels, too. Buyers also get to choose from three shades when ordering the package: White Frost Tricoat, Dark Chocolate Metallic and Ebony Twilight Metallic. Beyond those trim upgrades, the Tuscan Edition is just like any other Enclave. The package can only be ordered on the Leather and Premium trims, and all of their features are still available including a power moonroof, park assist, HID headlights and many luxury features inside. As with the rest of the range, power comes from a 3.6-liter V6 with 288 horsepower and 270 pound-feet of torque that routes through a six-speed automatic. There's also a choice of front- or all-wheel drive. The Italian-inspired CUV makes its debut at the New York Auto Show in just a few days and brings its bronzer to dealers this summer. Buick Introduces 2016 Enclave Tuscan Edition Bronze accents distinguish crossover that ignited brand's renaissance 2015-03-26 DETROIT – Buick today introduced the 2016 Enclave Tuscan Edition – a more distinctive expression of the popular crossover, highlighted by a bronze-tone grille and 20-inch chrome-clad wheels with bronze accents. The Enclave sparked Buick's renaissance eight years ago and continues to fuel its momentum, with 2015 sales building on record sales of 62,300 in 2014. "Buick's quality, refinement and style continues to attract more customers and this modern resurgence started with Enclave," said Duncan Aldred, vice president of Buick. "It was a pioneer for three-row luxury crossovers and remains one of the segment's most popular. The new Tuscan Edition celebrates Enclave's achievement and rewards owners with a higher level of distinction." The 2016 Buick Enclave Tuscan will be on display at the New York International Auto Show and goes on sale this summer on the Leather (1SL) and Premium (1SN) trims. It is offered in three premium exterior colors: White Frost Tricoat, Dark Chocolate Metallic and Ebony Twilight Metallic.
