1996 Buick Lesabre Custom Sedan 4 Door, Good Condition on 2040-cars
Warren, Michigan, United States

This 1996 Buick LeSabre has been my car for over four years,
now, preceded by a Buick '88. It's because of these two vehicles that
I've decided not to leave the Buick 3800 class. I'm sad to see this car
go. I would certainly take it with me if I could. I have faith that
Buick will soon add amphibious capabilities to the LeSabres, but until
then, this one cannot follow me to Europe.
After 151,000 miles, this LeSabre still drives like a dream. It was owned by an old man who had kept it in pristine shape. I bought it from Motor City Auction whilst it was at the 88k mark. I was made aware before I bought it that the 90's LeSabres were often fitted with bum head gaskets. A quick check of the car records showed that the head gasket had already been replaced by the old man. Since, I've only had to replace a battery and the fuel pump, as well as more recently, the wheels thanks to a rough winter. I still possess the original wheels (as only one rim was cracked -- the rest were in fine condition) so if you are interested, let me know. I've provided regular oil changes and basic maintenance. In preparation for sale I've done its final oil change, replaced the brake lines, and equipped a new battery. The car is clean, though "lived in". The old man may have taken pristine care of it but I am not an old man. The upholstery on the seats is perfect, but there are a couple holes in the ceiling upholstery and a couple stains on the carpet underneath the floor covers. The driver side power window control works but is pushed a bit into the armrest. It takes two fingers to open and close any window in the car from that seat. The car is beginning to rust at the bottom exterior. You are more than welcome to visit and take a test drive. The car is in Warren; call or email for address and to make an appointment. Additional photos/information available upon request. (313) 338 8216 |

Neil Young's 1953 Buick Roadmaster Skylark brings $400,000 at auction
Mon, Dec 11 2017Singer-songwriter Neil Young's extensive collection of model trains have fetched nearly $300,000 at auction, along with classic cars and musical equipment owned by the 72-year-old folk-rock icon. Young, a model train enthusiast for decades, offered more than 230 pieces at Julien's Auctions in Los Angeles from his collection of Lionel trains, including a custom-painted Commodore Vanderbilt 4-6-4 locomotive that sold for $10,000. Several cars that Young owns were also sold. A 1953 Buick code 76X Roadmaster Skylark convertible with a steering wheel hub that says, "Customized for Neil Young," went for $400,000, the auction house said on Saturday. Young, best known for his Woodstock-era songs as well as his work with the bands Buffalo Springfield and Crosby, Stills, Nash & Young has said the vast model train layouts at his California ranch helped him connect with his son Ben, who has cerebral palsy. Other items auctioned off on Saturday included some of Young's guitars, amplifiers and microphones. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Bridge School in California, which Young's ex-wife Pegi Young co-founded in 1986 for children with severe speech and physical impairments.Reporting by Joseph AxRelated Video:
GM expanding Lansing Lambda CUV plant
Thu, 30 Oct 2014Considering that crossovers are a rapidly growing portion of the US auto market, it's not surprising to hear that General Motors is preparing to build even more of them. The company is investing $63 million to expand its Lansing Delta Township Assembly plant that builds Lambda platform CUVs like the Chevrolet Traverse, GMC Acadia and Buick Enclave.
According to GM, the expansion will add roughly 263,000 extra square feet of space to the plant. Of that, 181,000 square feet will be for an updated body shop with cutting-edge robots. There will also be 54,000 square feet of additional room in the paint shop and 28,000 square feet of more area for general assembly.
GM isn't saying as much, but there is the possibility that this extra space could allow for additional models produced at the factory. Cadillac reportedly dropped plans to build a three-row SUV on the Lambda platform earlier this year, however, dealers for the luxury brand were recently pitched the possibility of adding large and small CUVs, an ATS convertible or a sedan below the ATS.
7 major automakers to build open EV charging network
Wed, Jul 26 2023A new joint venture established by BMW, GM, Honda, Hyundai, Kia, Mercedes-Benz and Stellantis will build a new North American electric vehicle charging network on a scale designed to compete with Tesla's industry-benchmark Supercharger network. The 30,000-plus planned new chargers will accommodate both Tesla's almost-standard North American Charging System (NACS) and existing automakers' Combined Charging System (CCS) options, effectively guaranteeing compatibility with the vast majority of current and upcoming electric models — whether they're from one of the involved automakers or not. "With the generational investments in public charging being implemented on the Federal and State level, the joint venture will leverage public and private funds to accelerate the installation of high-powered charging for customers. The new charging stations will be accessible to all battery-powered electric vehicles from any automaker using Combined Charging System (CCS) or North American Charging Standard (NACS) and are expected to meet or exceed the spirit and requirements of the U.S. National Electric Vehicle Infrastructure (NEVI) program." Critically, the automakers involved will have a say in how the charging tech is implemented, guaranteeing that the hardware will play nicely with each automaker's in-house charging systems. Hyundai and Kia, for example, were hesitant to jump on board the Tesla NACS bandwagon earlier this year over concerns that the Supercharger network is insufficient for powering the two automakers' 800-volt charging systems; similar tech is used by Volkswagen and Porsche. In addition to providing much-needed capacity and high-output charging for America's growing fleet of electric cars and trucks, the new network will integrate seamlessly with each automaker's in-app and in-vehicle features, rather than forcing customers to use third-party tools and payment systems, as is the case with some existing public charging infrastructure. "The functions and services of the network will allow for seamless integration with participating automakersÂ’ in-vehicle and in-app experiences, including reservations, intelligent route planning and navigation, payment applications, transparent energy management and more. In addition, the network will leverage Plug & Charge technology to further enhance the customer experience," the announcement said.
