HERE AT A VERY REASONABLE LOW RESERVE IS A LOW MILEAGE 1987 BUICK GN WITH ONLY 63,000 ORIGINAL MILES WITH SOME AFTERMARKET UPGRADES. THE INTERIOR SHOWS JUST THAT OF A LOW MILEAGE CAR, VERY CLEAN WITH ONLY A COUPLE SMALL TEARS IN DRIVERS SEAT, THE REST OF INTERIOR INCLUDING DASH AND DOOR PANELS ARE LIKE NEW. WILL NEED HEADLINER REPLACED DUE TO SAGGING AND ALSO THE SUNVISORS, CAN BUY AS A SET FOR UNDER $200. THE ENGINE COMPARTMENT IS VERY CLEAN CONSIDERING THE AGE, THE ENGINE SOUNDS HEALTHY, ACCORDING TO PREVIOUS OWNER OVER $6000 ALONE WAS INVESTED INTO THE ENGINE OVER THE YEARS WITH SOME RECEIPTS INCLUDED. THE OVERALL BODY CONDITION IS DRIVER QUALITY WITH ONE OLDER REPAINT WITH SOME CHIPS/SCRATCHES, VERY LITTLE RUST. THESE GN'S WITH LOWER MILEAGE ARE GETTING HARDER TO COME BY, WILL MAKE A GREAT FATHER / SON PROJECT FOR CRUISE NIGHTS.THE ORIGINAL WHEELS ARE BETTER THAN AVG WITH 2 BRAND NEW TIRES ON THE FRONTS. THE AFTERMARKET JENSON STEREO HAD BEEN STOLEN BUT THE 10 DISC CD CHANGER IS STILL IN THE TRUNK, THE ORIGINAL FACTORY STEREO WILL BE INCLUDED BUT NOT INSTALLED. A VIPER ALARM SECURITY SYSTEM HAS SINCE BEEN INSTALLED. THE UNDERCARRIAGE IS VERY SOLID WITH SOME SURFACE RUST BUT NOT ANYTHING THAT WILL NEED REPLACED. I WOULD RATE THIS GN AS DRIVER QUALITY AND WILL NEED TO BE REPAINTED EVENTUALLY TO BE WORTH A LOT MORE, WITH THE LOWER MILEAGE IT IS WELL WORTH THE INVESTMENT. I CAN HELP WITH TRANSPORTING ANYWHERE IN THE USA AT THE NEW OWNERS EXPENSE. PLEASE ASK QUESTIONS BEFORE PLACING BIDS, I WILL NEED TO SELL THIS AUCTION DUE TO STORAGE SPACE, OFFERS WILL BE CONSIDERED, WILL ALSO BE LISTED ELSEWHERE SO AUCTION MAY END EARLY, BID EARLY IF INTERESTED, IF RESERVE IS MET I WILL LET AUCTION RUN ITS COURSE, PLEASE ONLY SERIOUS BIDDERS. A $500 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT IS DUE AT AUCTIONS END AND THE BALANCE IN A CASHIERS CHECK OR MONEY ORDER WITHIN 10 DAYS WILL BE FINE, GOOD LUCK BIDDING!!!!

GM recalls 740,000 vehicles over daytime running light issue
Wed, Dec 14 2022General Motors is recalling over 740,000 vehicles due to a daytime running light issue that causes all of the affected cars to run afoul of Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. Vehicles affected by this recall are spread across many of GM’s brands. Models include the 2020-2023 Cadillac CT4 and CT5, 2021-2023 Buick Envision, 2022-2023 Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV, 2022-2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, Suburban, Tahoe and 2022-2023 GMC Sierra 1500, Yukon, and Yukon XL. GM says that the daytime running lights may remain on in these cars when the headlights are activated. This is a problem, because FMVSS rules require that the daytime running lights deactivate once the headlights turn on. If the DRLs remain on, GM says that could result in additional glare, thereby increasing the risk of an accident. The cause of this failure to deactivate the DRLs comes from body control module software that “under a combination of certain pre-conditions, could fail to deactivate the DRLs,” according to GM. Other GM vehicles were tested, but due to a difference in software or hardware, they remain unaffected. If this is reminding you of another recent GM recall, youÂ’d be right, as GM recalled another 340,000 vehicles for the same issue last month. After that original issue was found within GM, the company began looking into its other cars to determine if the population was larger than originally thought. GM found the additional vehicles included in todayÂ’s recall have the problem. The fix will either be via an over-the-air update or it will require you to bring the vehicle into a dealer for a software update, depending on which vehicle you have. Owner notification letters letting folks know what is necessary are currently scheduled to go out on January 23, 2023. Related video: Cadillac Escalade Infotainment Review
The new Opel Insignia might be a great Buick, but it's a sad Holden Commodore
Thu, Dec 8 2016Since the first shots of the uncovered Opel Insignia hit our inboxes, we've been filled with excitement for the new sedan. It looks great, it should come to America with little to no visual changes as the Buick Regal, and we might even get a wagon version. Unfortunately, there's a lead lining to this silver cloud, and it comes to us from Down Under. You see, the Opel Insignia is also undergoing a re-badging job in Australia to become the new Holden Commodore. It's replacing the beloved rear-drive Commodore (with an optional V8 and ultra-high performance HSV variants) with a front-drive-based platform offering four- or six-cylinder engines. This is depressing news considering the Zeta-platform underpinning the Commodore VF spawned the Pontiac G8, Chevrolet SS, and fifth-generation Camaro. Knowing this was going to happen doesn't help much either. What makes it all worse is that the new Commodore doesn't have a shred of unique styling in the bodywork. That's not an exaggeration. A new grille with a Holden lion badge instead of an Opel lightning bolt badge is the only change. See for yourself in the Insignia gallery below. Not only did GM erase a unique Australian model, it didn't even allow the brand to give the car a distinct shape. It's sort of like when Ford planned to replace the Mustang with the Mazda-derived Probe. The Probe wasn't that bad for the time, but it was no Mustang. At least in that case the Mustang survived. View 12 Photos Before we get ourselves too down, we should mention that there are reasons to be hopeful for the future. For one thing, the new all-wheel-drive Commodore/Insignias will come with a version of the GKN-developed rear differential found in the Focus RS and Range Rover Evoque, which is pretty neat on its own. And Opel/Vauxhall have always had wild performance versions of the Insignia and its Vectra predecessor. The last one made 325-horsepower and had all-wheel-drive. A new one would likely produce much more, since one of the available V6s makes 308 horsepower. Then imagine all of that extra hypothetical horsepower hooked up to the all-wheel-drive system that introduced us to "drift mode." Not only that, but rear-drive Holdens may not be completely dead yet. A Belgian man announced his intention to buy an old Holden factory along with the tooling and rights for the car once it was discontinued. His plan is to continue producing the old model after Holden is done with it.
Buick Adam a reality after all... but only in China
Mon, 03 Mar 2014General Motors may have parred down its brand portfolio, but it still has more under its umbrella than most. That's why, while a company like Ford might market the same vehicle under its own name in markets around the world, GM uses different brands in different markets. But no two are aligned quite as closely as Opel in Europe and Buick in the United States and China.
What we know here as the Buick Regal is sold overseas as the Opel Insignia. Our Encore is their Mokka. Verano? Astra sedan. But one thing we don't get here is the Opel Adam. The diminutive city car is GM's take on the Mini Cooper, Fiat 500, Citroën DS3 et al. Launched at the 2012 Paris Motor Show, the Opel Adam is named after the company's founder (like an ironic thumbing of the nose to the Ferrari Enzo). But while it's sold, like most Opels, in the UK as a Vauxhall, the prospect of it porting over to Buick seems slim to none. Right?
Sorta. While the Adam isn't likely to come Stateside, the latest reports (as yet unconfirmed by GM) suggest that The General is planning to sell the Adam in China where the Buick brand is also a strong seller. Local production could ensue, with prices targeting the Fiat 500 and engines - according to CarNewsChina.com - to include inline-fours displacing 1.2 and 1.4 liters with 69 and 100 horsepower, respectively.
