2003 - Bmw 745li on 2040-cars
Tolleson, Arizona, United States
This is a truly one-of-a-kind BMW, you won't find another in this condition with this many upgrades, with this low of miles. You are looking at a 2003 745 Li with a fully AUTHENTIC Hamann body kit. That includes front bumper, side skirts and rear pumper. This kit itself retails for close to $10,000. This 745 is also equipped with a Hamann dual tip exhaust. The exhaust note has a deep growl that grabs attention, but is not loud on the inside. This car also has 22" Vossen wheels, front tires are at 80% and the rear tires are brand new. The wheels and tires would set you back another $3k. The interior is a beautiful tan leather with wood accents. It also has every available option except the ski option. The car has never been smoked in, and the condition of the leather is excellent. The backseats were rarely used so they look like showroom quality. As this is written the car has 59,8XX original miles, and it will not be driven anymore. That is about half as many miles as the average. This car has been pampered since I purchased it from a professional baseball player back in 2007. It has been used as my datenight car for my wife and I since then. This car was only really driven on weekends. I am selling this car because I need the garage space, that is it. I honestly do not want to sell this car as I know I will never get another car that is this special. This car has been featured in countless magazines and is truly one-of-a-kind. This car has just been serviced so whoever buys it will get to enjoy it worry free for a long time. This car gets more looks than a Rolls Royce but is priced at 3 series. Get it before it is gone.

BMW denies collaborating on Apple Car
Mon, Mar 9 2015BMW and Apple already have a few possible partnerships coming in the future. For example, the Bavarian brand is likely using CarPlay at some point, and there may be an Apple Watch app for the i3 and i8 eventually, too. However, there is absolutely no plan for the German company to collaborate on the oft-rumored Apple car, the automaker says. The rumor of this shared development first cropped up in the German magazine Auto Motor und Sport, according to Reuters. The report claimed that the Apple cars could be sold from Apple Stores but serviced at BMW dealers. "We are in regular talks with companies from the IT and telecommunications sector, including Apple, concerning topics like connected vehicles. Developing or building a car is not a topic of these discussions," said a BMW spokesperson responding to the allegations to Reuters. The Apple car has been a scorching hot topic as of late. The tech giant reportedly has assigned around 200 people to the project, including former employees from Tesla and A123 Systems. The EV model could be ready as soon as 2020, according to some stories. This latest collaboration rumor seems especially dubious when you consider BMW's investments to develop the i3 and i8, though. With more models possibly on the way, it doesn't seem to make much sense to take on a development partner so late in the game. Last year, there were similar stories about a deal between the automaker and Tesla, which were also dismissed.
Recharge Wrap-up: EV charging at IKEA, Tesla Model M just rendering
Sat, Jul 18 2015Despite rumors, Tesla will not be producing a "Model M" electric motorcycle. After a rendering of a Tesla motorcycle concept by a designer named Jans Slapins began circulating online, some folks mistakenly thought it was something Tesla intends to build. Slapins, though, has no relationship with Tesla, nor has he claimed to. As cool as it could be, Tesla hasn't stated an interest in producing an electric two-wheeler, and, as Green Car Reports explains, Tesla's batteries don't lend themselves to the size and shape of a motorcycle the way, say, Zero's do. Read more at Green Car Reports. Piaggio and KTM are partnering to develop an affordable electric commuter vehicle. The EU is funding the project in the hopes that commuters would choose such a vehicle over polluting, traditionally powered vehicles for their daily drives. The initial plan is to create two four-wheeled tilting vehicles for demonstration purposes. The two manufacturers will also receive support from Bosch and several universities. Read more at Visor Down. Total has opened a hydrogen filling station in Munich, Germany with both standard compressed and BMW cryo-compressed hydrogen (CCH2) technology. CCH2 involves storing the fuel on board at low temperatures and just 350 bar pressure. It allows for up to 50 percent more storage than standard 700 bar systems (and, subsequently, a greater driving range). Having CCH2 hydrogen available at a public station allows BMW to further its fuel cell research and development with real-world testing. Read more at Green Car Congress. IKEA will install free EV charging stations at all of its Canadian stores. Each of the 12 stores will offer, initially, two 60-amp chargers available on a first-come-first-served basis. Sun Country Highway will install the chargers by the end of this summer (that's right, you don't have to assemble them yourself). IKEA sees itself as a prime location for EV charging as most of its stores are located near major highways. All of Canada's IKEA stores get their energy from renewable sources. "Electric vehicle charging stations are an important step on IKEA Canada's continuing journey towards sustainability," says IKEA's sustainability manager, Brendan Seale. BMW 2 Series Active Tourer corners surprisingly flat on 'Ring
Mon, 07 Jul 2014With seven seats and front-wheel drive, you might not expect the upcoming long-wheelbase version of the BMW 2 Series Active Tourer to live up to the Ultimate Driving Machine reputation that BMW has fostered over the years. But the latest spy clip from the Nürburgring suggests otherwise.
The Bavarian automaker has apparently been testing its new people mover on the Nordschleife, getting it ready to join the growing 2 Series family. And though it's wearing heavy camouflage, we can clearly see from the video below that it's cornering impressively flat - which bodes well for those who'll need to transport their expanding family but aren't prepared to give up on handling.
