This X5 is not like most you see on the road that are the from the same year model, in that it's in immaculate condition and has extremely low mileage.  It has been meticulously maintained, garaged most of its life, and has been taken care of sparing no expense.  It also has had most of the wear parts that could potentially cause issues throughout the last year, such as: water pump, radiator flush and fan blade replaced, AC recharged, spark plugs and wires replaced, window regulators replaced, and has had the oil changed every 3,000-3,500 miles with synthetic, and tires all around are new/balanced/aligned.   I have it washed at least once a week, kept it vacuumed and free of debris at all times, keep the leather clean/conditioned, fill it with premium Shell every time I fill it up, and have it hand waxed every year.

I just had it detailed to sell it, and aside from the engine bay being a little dirty ($40 if you want to have it done somewhere), it is in showroom condition and will remain that way until it is sold.  Why am I selling this car if I love it so much?  I'm getting a new Audi, and don't want to trade it in.  Their offer is pretty fair, so if it is not sold by the end of Memorial Day weekend it's going to them most likely.  KBB has the car listed at $11,847 for Excellent, $11,472 for Very Good, $11,222 for Good, and $10,222 for Fair Condition.  The vehicle has four very minor known issues (has been thoroughly inspected/serviced regularly--and recently by both Midtown BMW Houston and a Euro Specialty Shop): rear driver's side door power lock is not functioning properly (will unlock/open from the inside, but power lock is not working)--   <$200 repair, driver's-side side-mirror  clicks when you push the button to reset it's positions (just slightly annoying, but not worth fixing in my opinion),  and there are two minor oil leaks, but not even enough to leave a single drop on the pavement I park under  <$400 repair (optional).  The suspension bushings could stand to be replaced in the next 20,000 to 30,000--but this is something that is a comfort preference...recommended for premium ride ability, but totally optional.  That's why I'm selling it for $9,850, well below book value because  I'd rather not haggle over a few hundred dollars.

Other than that it is in near-perfect condition. I am the second owner and don't drive it 100% of the time because I have a Ducati and another car. The tail lights and badges are after market as I preferred the Black/Silver over the stock, but I have one of the badges and the OEM (stock) tail lights and will install them before sale at the buyers request (takes about 5 minutes).  The LEDs flicker slightly (but barely noticeable) and could maybe use a resistor, but it hasn't bothered me and I have yet to be pulled over driving in and around Houston every day.  It has hasn't had kids in it and is pretty much stain free throughout the interior.  Also comes with roof rails ($300 value).

Will ship to wherever I'm allowed to through eBay, and will require payment to be verified in full before it is loaded up to be shipped.  Buyer assumes all shipping costs, and once payment is received/verified it will be shipped out immediately in the same condition it is shown in the pictures (taken 5/21/2013 after being detailed and waxed).

Recharge Wrap-up: E15 could help smog woes, MPG average at all-time high

Fri, Sep 5 2014

A new study shows that using an E15 blend instead of regular gasoline would reduce smog in Chicago. Increasing the availability of the 15-percent ethanol blend could help reduce carcinogenic air pollution and improve air quality, particularly on the city's South Side. The study found that E15 reduces the risk of cancer by 6.6 percent. It also reduces greenhouse gas emissions 1.5 percent compared to a 10-percent ethanol blend. Read more at Domestic Fuel. Trump calls Germans 'very bad,' vows to stop their car sales in US

Fri, May 26 2017

TAORMINA, Italy -Talks between President Trump and other leaders of the world's rich nations at the G7 summit on Friday were expected to be "robust" and "challenging" after he had lambasted NATO allies and condemned Germans as "very bad" for their trade policies. Trump's confrontational remarks in Brussels, on the eve of the two-day summit in the Mediterranean resort town of Taormina, cast a pall over a meeting at which America's partners had hoped to coax him into softening his stances on trade and climate change. According to German media reports, Trump condemned Germany as "very bad" for its trade policies in a meeting with European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker, signaling he might take steps to limit sales of German cars in the United States. "The Germans are bad, very bad," he reportedly told Juncker. "Look at the millions of cars that they're selling in the USA. Horrible. We're gonna stop that." White House economic adviser Gary Cohn on Friday confirmed the reports. "He said they're very bad on trade, but he doesn't have a problem with Germany." Cohn said Trump had pointed out during the meeting that his father had German roots in order to underscore the message that he had nothing against the German people. Trump's spokesman Sean Spicer said Trump had "tremendous respect" for Germany and had only complained about unfair trade practices in the meeting. Juncker called the reports in Spiegel Online and Sueddeutsche Zeitung exaggerated. The reports translated "bad" with the German word "boese," which can also mean "evil," leading to confusion when English-language media translated the German reports back into English. "The record has to be set straight," Juncker said, noting that the translation issue had exaggerated the seriousness of what Trump had said. "It's not true that the president took an aggressive approach when it came to the German trade surplus." "He said, like others have, that (the United States) has a problem with the German surplus. So he was not aggressive at all," Juncker added. In January, Trump threatened to slap a 35 percent tax on German auto imports. "If you want to build cars in the world, then I wish you all the best. You can build cars for the United States, but for every car that comes to the USA, you will pay 35 percent tax," he said. "I would tell BMW that if you are building a factory in Mexico and plan to sell cars to the USA, without a 35 percent tax, then you can forget that." Last year, the U.S.

BMW M5 gets a facial for next generation

Mon, Jul 25 2016

There's no mistaking a car designed by BMW's M Division. Every vehicle has a distinct set of characteristics that sets it apart from plebeian Bimmers. That's why even through all of the camouflage, we know these are photos of the company's next-generation M5 testing in southern Spain. The current car has been around since 2011, so it's no surprise that BMW is working on a replacement. Although these photos are new, prototype M5s have been running around for a while now. We even have video of a car testing at the Nurburgring. The car is probably close to production ready at this point. All of the M Division trademarks are there. Four exhaust tips, flared fenders, beefy brakes with fixed calipers, lots of tire, etc. A few things differ from the previous spy shots we've seen. The front bumper looks to be slightly reworked, with larger air intakes than before. The design of the headlights appears to be slightly different and more in line with the new 7 Series. Other than that, there's not much here that we haven't already seen. We expect the new M5 to be powered by a twin-turbocharged V8. The Nurburgring tester sounds like it has a V8, and the M Division previously said it's not giving up on eight cylinders yet. There are also rumors floating around that the next generation of M cars will send power to all four wheels. Audi has put Quattro in its cars for years, while Mercedes-AMG is moving most of its models to all-wheel drive. Although BMW has said that it's sticking with rear-wheel power, don't discount optional AWD for next-gen M cars. Related Video:
