2005 Bmw X3 Sport Utility 4-door 3.0l on 2040-cars
Sunnyvale, California, United States
We are selling our X3. It's been a
super car for us. Black on black with privacy glass in the rear windows,
heated front seats, panoramic sunroof. No reliability issues and has only
ever required regular maintenance from us. Drives super, we've
just decided on a different car. We bought this from Weatherford BMW and are
the 2nd owner. We've had it for just over 5 years and it has 38k miles when we
purchased it. Always got synthetic oil and changed approximately every 10k
miles. Just a few minor items; one is
cosmetic, which is the rear driver's side door has a small scratch less
dent; other is the passenger side rear window doesn't function smoothly and
needs the window regulator to be replaced. Can be a DIY for
the enthusiastic, but it's a bit tricky. The car has never been in any
accidents. The only issue we had was somebody hitting the drivers door at a
Bart station when the door was being opened (the other driver was pulling in
too fast). We had the door repaired at Diablo Auto Body Inc, in Pleasanton and
all was covered by our insurance (since the other driver was not insured : (
There have been no issues whatsoever with the door. There's paperwork included
regarding this. We have both keys, fully functional,
and the original books that came with the car. We're motivated to sell and are
therefore using no reserve pricing. It just passed its smog test, we
have the title, registered through July; it's ready to drive you home. Please let me know of any questions
at all, thanks. Drew |

2014 BMW M6 Gran Coupe is ready for your favorite roads
Mon, 14 Jan 2013We've known about the ins and outs of the lovely BMW M6 Gran Coupe for a while now, but that doesn't mean we weren't happy to see the thing in the metal for the first time, here in Detroit.
The M-tuned Gran Coupe utilizes the same 4.4-liter forced-induction V8 that powers both the BMW M6 and the M5, with an output of 560 horsepower and 500 pound-feet of torque. The fast four-door brings up 60 miles per hour in just 4.1-seconds - the same sprint time as the M6 coupe and a few tenths quicker than the M5 - and up to a limited top speed of 155 mph.
We love those performance figures - this is one new Bimmer that we're amped to get some seat time in - though we're not super crazy about the selection of chrome wheels on this particular show car. Tells us what you think about the hotted up Gran Coupe in comments, below.
How to charge up your BMW i3 with a Honda
Sat, Sep 13 2014Behold a cheaper version of BMW's range extender for its i3 plug-in. And it's brought to you by ... Honda? Sort of, if you take the approach that Gadget Review took when it looked for an alternative to ponying up the $4,000 or so for the gas-powered i3 range extender that comes from the factory. What was procured was a Honda portable generator for Home Depot for the experiment, which involved gassing the generator up in a parking lot, plugging in the i3 and going out for a cup of coffee. The result was that, after about a half-hour of charging, the i3 picked up about four miles of driving range. Not exactly revolutionary but it least a bit instructive. And given that Honda generators start at about $800, the idea, while clunky, is potentially cash-saving. Gadget Review briefly took the experiment one-step further by trying to run the generator inside the back of the car and plugging in, complete with a rigged-up ventilation system, but the host thought better of it once he realized that there'd be suffocation involved. Why this was never tried on the Nissan Leaf, we'll never know. Check out Gadget Review's five-minute video below.
2014 BMW X5 configurator goes live
Sun, 28 Jul 2013BMW won't begin selling the 2014 X5 for another few months, but the German manufacturer has brought the third-generation SAV's configurator online, allowing interested customers to poke around and look at the X5's optional goodies.
Like the 3 Series, the X5 is available in a number of lines that load up extras automatically. There's also a do-it-yourself truck that allows owners to pick and choose if they're not enamored with the styling or trim of one of the dedicated packages. As usual, the options list is quite vast, regardless of which line is chosen. We were able to easily take the new, rear-drive X5 sDrive35i, which started at $52,800, and bring the total price up past $80,000.
The new X5 carries over its 4.4-liter, twin-turbo V8 from the current model, as well as BMW's excellent 3.0-liter, turbocharged inline-six. The X5 xDrive35d, with the 3.0-liter turbodiesel will also be available on the third-generation SUV, but won't hit dealers until early 2014. BMW is stepping outside of the X5's usual bounds, offering a dedicated rear-drive model, available with all the same trimmings as the xDrive vehicles. Head over to BMW's US consumer page and have a go.
