I'm finally selling my e36 m3. I love this car but I've had my fun with it and it time for someone else to enjoy this beauty. here's what you get: engine; mostly original s52 engine. New starter, New spark plugs, New valve cover gasket, k&n intake. ( also had active autowerkes cat back exhaust.) engine starts up and runs perfectly. Car was dyno'd about 6 months ago, it made 218 hp and 222lb/ft of torque at the rear wheels which is awesome considering they were rated at 240hp and tq from the factory at the flywheel! drive train; the drive train is all original except for a new clutch master cylinder. transmission shift good into all gears. feels kinda clunky but they all do. the diff and everything else work perfectly chassis; suspension was completely re done with bilstein shocks and tein s tech springs and polyurithane bushings on the front control arms.ride is firm but not uncomfortable. the brakes are Turner motorsports drilled rotors and stoptech pads and we're done in June. exterior; paint is in relatively good considering the age. had the normal chips you'd except from being driven. there is no rust anywhere, I bought the car in Orlando 2 years ago so no rust from road salt. interior; this is the cool part. this car has the 2 tone blue swade /black leather Vader seats. this interior package in a 4 door with a manual transmission is a very rare trim package. there are very few with this combo. the driver seat is a little worn out from all the miles but all the electronics in the seat work. now for the cons: the front power windows don't work but the rears and sunroof still do. there is also a power steering fluid leak. it still works it just means out fluid slowly. the rear tires are bald ( result of offset tire sizes that can't be rotated) I replaced the front tires less than a year ago. also the are stereo doesn't work. the Kenwood head into does but it isn't connected tho the speakers. there was an amplifier in the trunk that powered them but it was stolen. aside from that the car is in great shape. if you have any question feel free to ask away. if you would like more i can still e-mail more detailed pics of any part of the car you would like to see. |

BMW and Mini shuffle NA management, McDowell to retire
Wed, 04 Dec 2013BMW and Mini recently shuffled top personnel in their design departments, and now BMW of North America will reorganize its management to improve customer relations. Peter Miles (pictured), currently the executive vice president of operations, will take a newly created position, vice president of sales channel development and customer relations, while Jim McDowell, vice president of Mini of the Americas, will retire.
Chris Koenders, president of BMW Group Netherlands, will move take Miles' spot as executive vice president of operations. David Duncan, western region vice president, will take McDowell's job as vice president of Mini of the Americas. Finishing off the management switcharoo is Peter Witt, who will move from his current position as Managing Director of BMW Sweden to take Duncan's job as western region vice president.
"We are intensifying our customer-driven focus and these changes will influence the entire organization to continue improving all phases of the customer journey from prospect to purchase and throughout the ownership cycle," says Ludwig Willisch, president and CEO of BMW NA. For more information on the management reorganization, check out the press release below.
Alpina bringing new B4 Bi-Turbo Cabrio to Geneva
Mon, 24 Feb 2014Interested in picking up a new BMW 4 Series with a turbo six? You've got options: you can get the 435i with 300 horsepower or spring for the M4 with 425 hp. But if it's the convertible model you want, we're afraid you'll be limited to the latter as the M division can't help you (at least not for the time being). But that's where Alpina comes in.
The aftermarket tuner closely associated with BMW offers the B4 Bi-Turbo (at least in Europe) with that same 3.0-liter twin-turbo inline-six massaged up to 410 horsepower that starts to pose a threat to the M4. What's more is that the Alpina's 442 pound-feet of torque eclipses the M4's 406 lb-ft, to say nothing of the 435i's 300.
Best of all, Alpina just confirmed via Facebook that it'll offer the B4 in convertible form, bringing the resulting BMW Alpina B4 Bi-Turbo Cabrio to the Geneva Motor Show. We'd expect the weight penalty to knock it slightly off the coupe's quoted 4.1-second 0-60 time, but not by much. If only BMW were to bring this one Stateside like it does with the B7 sedan.
Defying Trump, major automakers finalize California emissions deal
Tue, Aug 18 2020WASHINGTON — The California Air Resources Board (CARB) and major automakers on Monday confirmed they had finalized binding agreements to cut vehicle emissions in the state, defying the Trump administration's push for weaker curbs on tailpipe pollution. The agreements with carmakers Ford Motor Co, Volkswagen AG, Honda Motor Co and BMW AG were first announced in July 2019 as voluntary measures prompting anger from U.S. President Donald Trump. A month later, the Justice Department opened an antitrust probe into the agreements. The government ended the investigation without action. The Trump administration in March finalized a rollback of U.S. vehicle emissions standards to require 1.5% annual increases in efficiency through 2026. That is far weaker than the 5% annual increases in the discarded rules adopted under President Barack Obama. The 50-page California agreements, which extend through 2026, are less onerous than the standards finalized by the Obama administration but tougher than the Trump administration standards. The automakers have also agreed to electric vehicle commitments. Volvo Cars, owned by China's Geely Holdings, said in March it planned to join the automakers agreeing to the California requirements. It has also finalized its agreement. The settlement agreements say California and automakers agreed to resolve "potential legal disputes concerning the authority of CARB" and other states that have adopted California's standards. In May, a group of 23 U.S. states led by California and some major cities, challenged the Trump vehicle emissions rule. Other major automakers like General Motors Co, Fiat Chrysler Automobiles NV and Toyota Motor Corp did not join the California agreement. Those companies also sided with the Trump administration in a separate lawsuit over whether the federal government can strip California of the right to set zero emission vehicle requirements. Ford said the "final agreement will reduce emissions in our vehicles at a more stringent rate, support and incentivize the production of electrified products, and create regulatory certainty." BMW said "by setting these long-term, predictable, and achievable standards, we have the regulatory certainty that is necessary for long-term planning that will not only reduce greenhouse gas emissions but ultimately benefit consumers as well."Â
