2005 Bmw M3 Zcp - Interlagos Blue - 6mt - 50k - Perfect on 2040-cars
Miami, Florida, United States
2005 BMW M3 Interlagos Blue Metallic Black Leather with M cloth inserts 50,600 miles * Location: Miami (33133) 6 Speed Manual Transmission ZCP - Competition Package (14.5:1 steering rack, M track mode, special interior trim, larger cross-drilled brake rotors) Manual Seats Heated Seats Xenon Headlights Harmon Kardon Sunroof There is very little to say about this car: You will be buying a car that is perfect externally, perfect internally, perfect mechanically, has low mileage for its age, and will provide years of driving enjoyment without any stress. Due to my free time to tinker and desire to deliver a perfect car, I replaced just about everything rubber underneath the car just in case their 9-year old age might cause issues despite the low mileage. This includes the engine mounts, front control arm bushings, guibo, transmission mounts, driveshaft center mount/bearing, and RTAB. The dust cap had fallen off of the belt tensioner pulley so I replaced the tensioner, bolt, caps, and idler pulleys as well as the belt as a precaution. The car has new air filter, cabin air filter, fluids (all OE except for Motul 600 brake fluid), front tires, lower center dash trim, plastic center console (with an extra armrest), interior bulbs, clean throttle bodies and idle control valve, and new battery within the last few weeks. Other notes: Inspection II with Valve adjustment at 42000; re-inspected valve clearances and VANOS at 50500 Rear tires at 42000 No subframe cracks Rear bumper re-sprayed from small marks made above diffuser during shipping New front brake rotors Curbed front wheel replaced, nicked rear wheel repaired Alignment Never smoked in The car is currently 100% stock with the exception of Koni shocks/H&R springs (which provide a very slight drop and in my opinion ride better than stock), Rogue RSMs, and Powerflex RTAB. If desired, I can return either or both of these to stock. If paid to do so, I can do other work such as subframe reinforcement and/or Beisan VANOS bulletproofing. [Additionally, because I own two other E46 M3s, I have a garage full of parts at my disposal, any of which may be used to sort of build this car to order, if that is desired. I'm speaking mainly of minor visual things like smoked corners, black kidneys and side grilles, matte trunk emblem, but as you can see in a few photos, I've had the car out with my 18x9.5et22 Apex ARC-8 custom gunmetal powdercoated setup while repairing the rear wheel; If you prefer the darker look, we can certainly make that happen. (I personally prefer the contrast of the OE chrome on blue, but this color looks so good it works both ways.) There could be other suspension and exhaust options as well. If you want AKG poly everything or Vibra Technics engine/trans mounts, etc, that can all be done. Just ask.] This car has had three prior owners: Two in the NY/NJ area and one near St. Louis who purchased the car in mid 2012 at 42k miles. It has a clean carfax (I can provide this to you as of February 2014) and no accident history. I purchased the car from him with the intention of driving it to Chicago to replace the 2004 Mystic Blue M3 pictured in my signature, which is about to hit 100k miles (and to take that car's 4.10 differential and a few other things as my "commission.") The buyer for that car didn't pan out, which was a risk that fortunately I was financially able to take. Since then I've kept the car here with me in Miami and gradually combed over every inch of the car taking it from purchase-worthy to collector-worthy. I firmly believe that it fits that description, and I won't sell you anything but the exact car that you expect and demand. I fully intend to own 3 uniquely purposed E46 M3s in the intermediate future, and let me tell you I'm tempted to keep this one every single day, but my plan is very specific, so I'm keeping my Alpine White/LSB 2005 M3 coupe instead. Included below are links to the only two other cars I've ever sold; Since purchasing my first car in August 2000 I have owned nothing but E46s, selling these two only to graduate in 2011 to a 2005 E46 M3 ZCP (this is all detailed in my M3F journal). I know this car inside and out and I link these to illustrate the fact that I have absolutely nothing whatsoever to hide, and I favor honesty, transparency, and an easy sale to a few extra dollars. (Or in the case of the 330Ci, which was later sold dishonestly on eBay for over a $3k profit, many extra dollars.) If you want to know anything about this car's story, my own 14-year E46 history of obsession, or anything else for that matter, just ask. http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=842315 http://forum.e46fanatics.com/showthread.php?t=700791 As described, in stock form: $28,500 Anything else, we can discuss and arrange. Want a euro tray in the center console? A cinnamon interior? Different wheels? TCK coilovers? Exhaust stuff? Multifunction Steering Wheel Retrofit? Just ask. * - (rising as I drive) |

BMW X4 M probably not in the cards
Thu, 26 Sep 2013BMW is preparing to exploit its latest market niche - those that find themselves unable to choose between the 3 Series, 4 Series and X3 - with the X4. If you're looking for an M product, though, you'll remain limited to the 3 and 4 Series. BMW's Bernhard Ederer, at the Australian launch of the X5, told Car Advice he wouldn't "bet on it," when asked about a hotter X4.
Oddly, Ederer's reasoning, according to the Aussies, is out of concern for the X6 M, whose sales the X4 M would apparently cannibalize. That's like saying the M3 doesn't make sense because it will cannibalize M5 sales - the logic just doesn't really hold up. "The question is what customers are we talking to? And are we talking to someone that is willing and able to afford [an X6 M]?" Ederer told Car Advice.
Car Advice seems to feel the same way, claiming the X3-based X4 will share its powertrains with its donor platform, and will eventually spawn an M variant, albeit a few years down the line.
Lexus back in luxury sales race after three-year absence
Sun, 08 Jun 2014Think the only challengers for the title of best-selling luxury brand hail from der Vaterland? Wrong. Lexus outsold the likes of Mercedes-Benz for the second time in 2014 last month. In fact, the Japanese luxury marque's total sales this year are a mere 12,000 units behind BMW.
Lexus was able to move 26,921 vehicles last month, a year-over-year increase of 21.1 percent, respectively. Mercedes, meanwhile, was just barely beaten, moving 26,617 units in April. The difference, though, is that Lexus has made far bigger year-over-year gains than Mercedes, which recorded a YOY increase of just 4.13 percent.
This is particularly troubling for the Germans, as it marks a return to form for Lexus that we haven't seen since before the March 2011 earthquake and tsunami that decimated Japan. Prior to that natural disaster, Lexus enjoyed nearly a dozen years at the top of the luxury heap.
BMW adds on-street parking to DriveNow carsharing in SF
Sat, May 10 2014BMW is putting a new spin on the concept of the San Francisco treat. The German automaker cut a deal to clear out 80 street-parking spaces for its DriveNow car-sharing program in the notoriously parking-constrained City by the Bay. Bimmer is also more than doubling its all-electric ActiveE car-sharing fleet in San Francisco to 150 vehicles from 70. Starting later this month, customers will be able to access the DriveNow website or app to find, reserve and park the electric Bimmers on certain streets in San Francisco's Mission district. Once the car is ready to be turned back in, the vehicle's in-car screen will also indicate what "drop-off" zones the driver can use to end the reservation. It's all very high-tech, and BMW is looking to expand the program to other San Francisco neighborhoods like Bernal Heights, the Haight, Noe Valley and Potrero Hill. There's also a contest for users to name the 80 new vehicles, but it involves a really complicated lettering system. "New" here means new to DriveNow, since these ActiveE electric vehicles are really those that were, until recently, used by the Electronauts in BMW's EV leasing program. Since those leases are ending, the cars need to go somewhere. We think carsharing is a great home for them. BMW, which also runs DriveNow in the German cities of Berlin, Hamburg, Cologne, Munich and Dusseldorf, said in March that it was looking to add the service to as many as 15 more cities in Europe as well as another 10 in the US. BMW debuted DriveNow in San Francisco in August 2012, though parking the cars has always been an issue. Check out BMW's press release below. BMW Group's DriveNow Car-Sharing Service Expands to Street Parking in San Francisco. San Francisco Mayor Ed Lee and BMW Group board member Dr. Ian Robertson provided details about DriveNow at a news conference on ... Eighty All-Electric BMW ActiveE Vehicles Added to the DriveNow Fleet to Increase the Convenience of Finding and Parking Emission-Free Cars. San Francisco, CA – May 8, 2014... BMW Group subsidiary DriveNow, a flexible, premium car-sharing program, will expand to offer street parking in multiple neighborhoods in San Francisco, beginning in select areas of the Mission District and will add 80 electric BMW ActiveE vehicles to the existing fleet, increasing the total number of ActiveE vehicles in the San Francisco Bay Area to 150. DriveNow members will have the opportunity to name the 80 electric vehicles in a two-week social media challenge.
