2003 Bmw M3 Base Convertible 2-door 3.2l on 2040-cars
Lincolnwood, Illinois, United States
Here it is folks. This is the one you've been waiting for. I have put over $8000 in this car in the past 19 months bringing it up to snuff. The previous owner didn't do anything to it (I was unaware of that) so I spent a lot of time and money getting it all done right. The car is midnight blue with gray leather. It has the 19" wheel package and is an SMG car. It is simply gorgeous. This car came to me from Tennessee. Since I have owned it in Illinois this has been a SUMMER ONLY car for me. It is stored in my heated garage from October until April-May (depending on weather). You might think that the mileage is high on this car and I would likely be inclined to agree with you. However, what you have to know is that you can buy one with less than 100k miles for more money and you will end up putting $8-9K in it. Most of these have a lot of deferred maintenance because anything that has an "M" in front of it is double the price for parts and labor. EVERYTHING has been done on this car. Purchase price plus all the work I am in this car probably around $21,000. My loss is your gain. The ONLY reason I am selling this car is because I got a divorce, bought a house, and just got laid off so I need the money. However, I don't need it bad enough to let this car go for a dirt cheap low-ball price. My reserve is VERY low given the condition of this car and the work that has been done. If you don't know what an M3 is, what SMG means, etc., you shouldn't be bidding on this car. Period. Work completed on the car:
My loss is your gain. I have receipts for ALL work done, both keys plus a valet key. If you have any questions please feel free to email me. Thanks for looking! |

BMW 3 Series wagon configurator up, priced from $41,450
Mon, 25 Mar 2013If you're still smarting from the shock of the BMW 3 Series Gran Turismo, we have good news for you. BMW has just fired up the configurator for the 2014 3 Series wagon. Prices start at $41,450, excluding an $895 destination and handling fee. The price tag will buy you a 328i xDrive Sports Wagon with a 2.0-liter inline four-cylinder engine boasting 241 horsepower paired with an eight-speed automatic transmission as standard equipment. The automaker's xDrive intelligent all-wheel drive is also standard, as is a fuel-saving auto start/stop function and 17-inch alloy wheels wrapped in all-season run flat rubber.
Buyers can step up to Sport Line trim for $2,600, and doing so graces the 3 Wagon with 18-inch wheels, high-gloss black accents outdoors as well as a sport leather steering wheel, high-gloss or aluminum interior trim and a black signature key fob. Luxury Line trim will set you back $2,300 abd features chrome trim accents outdoors and wood trim inside along with other goodies. Buyers can also opt for Modern Line trim at $2,300, complete with a turbine-design 18-inch alloy wheel, matte chrome trim bits outdoors and a range of interior trim options.
Our favorite of the bunch? That would be M Sport trim. While the tweaks are largely aesthetic, we dig the notion of 8-way power adjustable sport seats indoors and exclusive M Estoril Blue paint outside. Expect to pay $3,950 for the pleasure. Head over to the BMW site to build your own.
BMW M2 to pack 365 hp
Fri, May 8 2015The BMW M2 was spied testing several times last summer, but there has been little news about the upcoming entry to the M family as of late. More info is finally leaking out though, and it potentially confirms some past reports, while giving a better idea of what the coupe looks like. We have to take any of these leaks with a grain of salt, but according to a user on the 2addicts forum citing insider sources at BMW headquarters, M2 production begins in November. This person also reiterates that the coupe uses BMW's N55 turbocharged 3.0-liter inline-six. In this tune, it would reportedly make 365 horsepower and 343 pound-feet of torque. Plus, an over-boost system would allegedly push twist by about 25 lb-ft at low revs. At launch, this rumor also suggests that BMW might keep the M2's color palette limited to just four choices: Alpine White, Black Sapphire Metallic, Long Beach Blue Metallic and Mineral Grey Metallic. Inside, there're purportedly even fewer hues with the only one being black with blue stitching. Assuming these numbers are accurate, the M2 seems to represent a decent upgrade over the already capable M235i. It also uses a version of the N55 but a version making 320 hp and 330 lb-ft. In addition to the extra grunt, previous spy shots show the M with a front fascia akin to the M3/M4.
These are the cars with the best and worst depreciation after 5 years
Thu, Nov 19 2020The average new vehicle sold in America loses nearly half of its initial value after five years of ownership. No surprise there; we all expect that shiny new car to start depreciating as soon as we drive it off the lot. But some vehicles lose value a lot faster than others. According to data provided by iSeeCars.com, trucks and truck-based sport utility vehicles generally hold their value better than other vehicle types, with the Jeep Wrangler — in both four-door Unlimited and standard two-door styles — and Toyota Tacoma sitting at the head of the pack. The Jeep Wrangler Unlimited's average five-year depreciation of 30.9% equals a loss in value of $12,168. That makes Jeep's four-door off-roader the best overall pick for buyers looking to minimize depreciation. The Toyota Tacoma's 32.4% loss in initial value means it loses just $10,496. The smaller dollar amount — the least amount of money lost after five years — indicates that Tacoma buyers pay less than Wrangler Unlimited buyers, on average, when they initially buy the vehicle. The standard two-door Jeep Wrangler is third on the list, depreciating 32.8% after five years and losing $10,824. On the other side of the depreciation coin, luxury sedans tend to plummet in value at a much faster rate than other vehicle types. The BMW 7 Series leads the losers with a 72.6% drop in value after five years, which equals an alarming $73,686. BMW's slightly smaller 5 Series is next, depreciating 70.1%, or $47,038, over the same period. Number three on the biggest losers list is the Nissan Leaf, the only electric vehicle to appear in the bottom 10. The electric hatchback matches the 5 Series with a 70.1% drop in value, but since it's a much cheaper vehicle, that percentage equals a much smaller $23,470 loss.
