2003 BMW E46 ///M3- Alpine White/Black Nappa Leather
Rare Example of a clean super low mileage E46 ///M3. Only 47K Miles! Southern Car! No Accidents! 1 Owner! BMWCCA
Member. Clean Car-fax! Hard to Find Rare Combo! Alpine White Over Black Nappa Leather! Well-Maintained M3! Fluids
Regularly Flushed! Inspection I Completed. Subframe Inspection Completed. Rod Bearing Recall Performed. Always
Garage Kept. Non Smoker Owned.
This is a turn key E46 M3. I have been collecting cars for years and it is tough to find another one like this one.
I have most service records, books, and (2) keys. You will be hard pressed to find another E46 M3 like this one. I
would rate the Interior a 9.0/10 the Front seats are in good condition, the side bolsters do not have any wear on
them, all functions work and operate on the M seats as they should. The Front dash is very clean no cracks, the
Rear seats are excellent, and Rear deck-lid has no sun damage. The Exterior of the car is a solid 9.0/10 the front
bumper cover as minor stone marks from driving. Front bumper has not been drilled for license plate, the lip
spoiler on the back is all factory and original. The rare color combination looks very sharp with the 19"
Competition Package ZCP Style wheels. The wheels are curb and rash free, tires have only 5K miles on them.
Under the hood the car features the revolutionary S54 Power Plant (3.2L 333HP). These engines have been noted to be
one of the best M engines produced by BMW M GmbH. The E46 ///M3 in the early 2000's was known to be the car out
performing every car in its class and is one of the most recognized M cars in the market place today. Whether you
are buying this for yourself or your son/daughter, this ///M3 is a real head turner. This car is all stock. It has
never been modified. Tasteful cosmetic upgrades include 19" Competition Package ZCP Style Wheels, AC Schnitzer Roof
Spoiler, IND Painted Bumper Reflectors and 3M Tinted Windows. Recent Oil Service has been performed at BMW.
No expense has been spared to properly store, maintain and address preventative maintenance on this M3. I do not
need to sell this car and would prefer to keep it, but if this M3 goes to the right home I will be happy. This is a
true collectable as these cars age it is very difficult to find another one in with low mileage.

BMW to offer carbon fiber wheels in a year or two
Sun, 23 Feb 2014The Citroën SM sat on the first set of production glass fiber and resin wheels in 1972 when parent company Michelin developed the exotic hoops in order to take the SM rallying. It wasn't until 2008 that we got the first all-carbon-fiber wheel for passenger cars in the form of a prototype model from Weds Sports in Japan that remained a prototype. Australian company Carbon Revolution followed that a year later with its CR-9 all-CF wheel, first introduced on the Shelby Ultimate Aero and now available for independent purchase for about $15,000 per set. BMW could be the first OEM to offer entire wheels in carbon fiber reinforced plastic in two years.
The wheels - either all-CFRP or using a CFRP rim and alloy spokes - were shown off during BMW's Innovation Days in Munich and are products of the development work done on its i-branded cars. The full-CFRP wheel is 35-percent lighter than a forged alloy wheel, the hybrid alloy and CFRP wheel is 25-percent lighter, making for a decent drop in unsprung rotating weight. As demonstrators during a tech day the wheels aren't yet in the pipeline for production and EU approval, but an article in Auto Express claims that they could be on the market as soon as two years from now.
Other possible parts include a full carbon fiber steering wheel and propeller shaft, the latter of which is coming as a single-piece component on the new M3 and M4. BMW is also talking up its use of secondary carbon fiber - waste material from i3 and i8 production - that can be used for items like IP support structures, seat frames and spare wheels in place of traditional metals like aluminum and magnesium. There's an excerpt of the Innovation Day press release below with more details.
BMW plans range-topping M760i
Thu, Dec 24 2015The rumors have come from several different places throughout the year and they all point to the same thing: we can expect a BMW M760i in 2016 to sit at the top of the 7 Series range. One of the latest scraps of evidence comes from a forum member at Bimmerpost last month who wrote that an M760i would arrive for model year 2017, and it would be the only regular-wheelbase version with a 12-cylinder engine even if a 760i model joins the lineup. The long-wheelbase 760Li, however, would also get a 12-cylinder motor. This week, BMW Blog published what it says is an accidentally leaked image from the German BMW configurator (pictured) that shows an M760i badge. The actual model doesn't appear, but the configurator places the badge over the 7 Series model you choose to configure. This will be the second 7 series to wear an M badge, and whenever we see it, we're told it will get the M Sport Package and Ferric Grey accents. The first M-badged 7 Series was a limited edition for the Middle East sold two years ago. Both the M760Li and 760Li are tipped to use the 6.6-liter V12 found in the Rolls-Royce Ghost and Wraith - that engine being an evolution of the V12 that powered the last-generation 760Li - but their outputs will vary. The long-wheelbase 7 is expected to get 600 horsepower. The M760i is said to get 624 hp, matching the output of the Wraith, and maybe some handling refinements to make it a proper competitor for counterparts from Mercedes-AMG, Audi, and Jaguar. On top of all that there will still be an Alpina B7, rumored to have 600 horses of its own. Introduction of the range could take place at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. New BMW i3-like Visio.M EV concept uses lightweight resin
Tue, Oct 21 2014It's not a new version of the BMW i3, but an updated version of a lightweight concept car from SABIC, BMW, the Technical University of Munich, Daimler and others does bear a certain resemblance to the well-designed plug-in city car. From the black "glass" in the hatch to the angled line tail lights to the up-and-down window line, you can see a sort of family resemblance (see an i3 comparison photo here). And, of course, they both have an electric powertrain. But the changes made to the new lightweight urban electric concept vehicle is more of an exercise in what's possible rather than a way to evolve the i3 and i8 into a broader i family of vehicles. Even so, what we see here is interesting, since SABIC found all sorts of new ways to take weight out of the car as part of the Visio.M (Visionary Mobility) project, which was first announced in 2012. Let's start with the window material, which as you might guess from the quotation marks above, is not made of glass but is instead SABIC's Lexan polycarbonate (PC) resin plastic. The lower weight (the PC helps shed about 29 pounds) adds two miles of range while the PC resin has better thermal conductivity compared to glass and so does even more because the HVAC system can be more efficient. According to SABIC's computational fluid dynamics analysis, an extra 9-10 miles of range, in fact. Without the battery, this concept weighs just 992 pounds. Remember, BMW already made a lot of weight-reduction measures in the i3 thanks to carbon fiber reinforced plastic, so to make the "glass" lighter would only help boost efficiencies on a production vehicle that uses a resin like this. Read more below. SABIC's LEXAN™ resin delivers weight savings and thermal efficiency for new ultra-lightweight electric car concept developed by BMW-led Visio.M Consortium Munich, October 20, 2014 Today, at the Technical University of Munich (TUM), BMW, Daimler, TUM scientists and a consortium of industry participants showcased a lightweight urban electric concept vehicle with various advances, including an all-plastic design of the car's windows. The windows are made of LEXAN resin, a polycarbonate (PC) material, and coating technologies from SABIC, a leading developer of PC glazing for automotive windows and many other thermoplastic solutions for the automotive industry.
