Up for bids is a pretty rare color combo, I have been told for M3 Convertibles; bought it from a guy that was strapped for cash; this was his baby and after looking at all the high def pics that I have put up for your viewing it appears that it very well was. As far as service, I know that he had most all of his work done at BMW in Fort Walton Beach, Florida, Orr BMW in Shreveport, LA or at Hixon BMW in Monroe, La. (pics of some of the serviced tickets provided.), LA. When I took possession of this car it was in need of some maintenance issues and I have taken care of all of them. The oil change was done with that expensive Castrol 10-90 and there is about 13k left before it will need it again; the tires on the rear of these cars, I am told, wear out first and I have put new Bridgestone Potenzas on the back; the front ones are Yokahama and the dealer said that they had about 5k more left before replacement; (he said about Christmas time.) The brakes were in need of replacement and I have replaced the front pads and rotors; the rear pads were replaced last year and had well over 3/4 life left in them; the rear rotors, which function as only assistance with braking were inspected by the mechanic and are in very good shape. On the history of this vehicle, he bought it at 31k and drove it the balance of the 69k. 80% of the miles are road miles on I-20 and I-10; I knew that this car was pristine when I bought it due to his attention to maintaining it, caring for the finish and treating the leather. (he said that he used Surf City Garage leather conditioner every 2-3 weeks.). This vehicle may have a warranty in place due to a recall situation thru BMW; that is something that I have been informed of but have no time to research. As far as I am concerned it is sold as is by me. I have not driven this vehicle extensively but I cannot tell you how well that this car handles and performs. It will set you back in the seat on acceleration and stop on a dime and hand you 9 cents back in change. The ride is not smooth but I was told that this is the norm for these vehicles. It is a 6-speed car and not that SMG type that has been giving all the trouble that I have read about. It shifts perfectly and seamlessly and the clutch engages well; a testament to highway driving I guess. There are no service or warning lights on the dash and it has fewer than average front facia road debris chips. The paint, as you can see is a very high gloss finish and it has a set of high end Lorenzo rims that he had a custom paint job done to match the car. This car is a real performer and head turner. I have taken a pic of the new brakes before and after install but none of the rear ones. In the way of add-ons, there are BMW M style pedals installed on the brake, clutch and footrest he put in new BMW M3 floormats and it does have a BMW trunk mat and there are BMW rubber mats with the car for the front only;. It has a high end Alpine stereo along with a Sirrius receiver that has been inactivated; there is an I-Pod cable in the glove box and he had MB Quart speakers put in the doors; I am not a stereo guy but they sound awesome. I may be able to get my hands on the factory one but am unsure if it is in working order; I understand that the Alpine unit is head and shoulders above the BMW one. All interior accessories are in working order and the interior is beautiful with no wear spots or stains; there is some wear on the bolster where you get in and out but I am told this is normal; I did try the sport button, and it turns this car into a rocket; I just can't describe it and you would have to drive it to appreciate it. It comes with a full set of BMW trunk tools, and extra key but I could not locate the service manuals. They are available on E-Bay for about 60.00 if you want them. If you want a well serviced rocket to drive that will turn heads at every corner, this is it; I have a friend of mine that checked the wholesale auction scene on these cars and they are going under the hammer for 13 to 14k wholesale. All I can tell you is bid according to the condition and the info I have provided you. Ask questions if genuinely interested; I am on the road a lot and will try to answer them as best as I can or attempt to find out from the previous owner. Thanks for looking and let the bidding start.

Project CARS vs reality at Laguna Seca shows amazing potential
Mon, 28 Apr 2014Project CARS is aiming to be the next great racing sim. Offering a mix of modern and classic cars on famous tracks, developer Slightly Mad Studios is trying to inject a fresh energy into the genre, and at the moment its game looks ready to take on Forza and Gran Turismo.
The game is still about six months from release, and the graphics already look practically photorealistic. The video below shows side-by-side laps of Laguna Seca in a BMW - real life on the left and the game on the right. It's absolutely astounding. Other than some changes to the sponsorship around the track, they are almost identical.
Of course anyone with quality seat time in a racing sim knows that graphics are just one factor. How the game feels is even more important, and without getting hands on, it's impossible to judge yet. However, consider our interest piqued. Project CARS is scheduled to launch in November on the Sony PlayStation 4, Microsoft Xbox One, Nintendo WiiU, Windows PC and Steam OS. Scroll down to check out the video.
Ken Block and friends race light in silly-beautiful Castrol commercial
Wed, 28 May 2014How does one make fast, loud, drifting cars better? Well, you can add more fast, loud, drifting cars or you can add lasers. Either or, really. In this case, Castrol did the right thing and added both, creating a highly stylized commercial for its Edge Titanium motor oil starring South African racer Adrian Zaugg, BMW factory driver Augusto Farfus, Audi DTM and Le Mans staple Mike Rockenfeller and some bloke named Ken Block.
Their cars? No surprise, but Block is in his Ford Fiesta GRC, while Zaugg samples a Lamborghini Aventador and Farfus and Rockenfeller drive along party lines, with a BMW M4 and an Audi R8, respectively. And those cars look good, too, thanks to the creative light and laser work on display.
Take a look below for the video from Castrol.
Alex Zanardi talks new challenge at 24 Hours of Spa with BMW
Wed, Jul 22 2015"I have overcome greater things in my life than driving at night." When considering Alex Zanardi's tumultuous life and racing career, the notion that he might be worried about racing for the first time at night seems patently absurd the moment I pose the question. But as I've discovered previously, ask Zanardi a question and his reply - even a brief one - will offer analysis. "I'm really looking forward to it," he says, before adding: "Also, it will be much cooler." Zanardi is talking about the latest installment in his racing career - the 24 Hours of Spa - where he will race a BMW Z4 GT3 alongside fellow ex-Formula 1 driver Timo Glock and DTM driver Bruno Spengler. For the second year, Zanardi is running with ROAL Motorsport, and the team has the full weight of BMW behind it as it prepares to go up against 57 other cars on the historic Belgian circuit this weekend. I first met Zanardi last year at Brands Hatch on a hot May afternoon after his one-hour Blancpain Sprint Series race. He was exhausted and downing can after can of cola but still happy to chat to fans as he cooled off. I ask why, if that was such a tough experience, he is prepared to do it for 24 hours. "It's a good question, why would I?" he ponders aloud before quickly adding: "I am confident I am as well-equipped as I can be to face such an enormous commitment." That confidence comes from three developments that have allowed him to be the first disabled driver to race the Spa 24H. Firstly, his athleticism; since Zanardi lost both his legs in the horrific CART accident at the Lausitzring in 2001, he has drawn admiration for his subsequent achievements as a racing driver and paracyclist; the Italian won two golds and a silver at the 2012 London Paralympics in handcycling. The man is seriously fit. The next major change is inside the Z4 cockpit, where he has worked with BMW engineers to adapt the braking system without hindering his able-bodied teammates; having two others sharing the car with him is a new challenge for both Zanardi and BMW. New controls, particularly the brake pedal, were designed with impressive results. "[The engineers] made my life easier quite dramatically via ergonomics, pushing the brake pedal and the footrest where I put my prosthetic feet to the side of the space that was available. "This makes everything better for me. The ratio of the brake pedal is changed.
