3.0-liter six-cylinder engine
Manual transmission
Rear-wheel drive
Reportedly one of 30 made in October 1995
One of 13 2-doors and only one with manualThe BMW M3 has started a legacy that has yet to end over the past 30 years. When the E30 M3 was launched in 1985 it
was done so to keep BMW current and competitive with Mercedes-Benz who had just released the 190E 2.3-16 Cosworth.
As it made its way on the track in Touring Car Championships around the globe, it soon became a real contender and
the benchmark for BMW Performance. The M3 has won at world-renowned races such as the 24 Hours of Nurburgring,
World Touring Car Championship Driver’s Title in 1987, and countless wins across the globe on both tarmac
circuits and rally settings.
By 1988 BMW finally started delivering “U.S. spec” examples of the M3 to North America, both factory and
privateer teams immediately put them to work on the track. A small enthusiast’s base was quickly growing for the
new M Car, and would ultimately prove to be a love affair with the brand and the basis for BMW to keep making more
units and further improving their technology.
This 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine is an elegant work of machinery. It is meshed with a manual transmission, and is
also equipped with power steering and brakes. This vehicle also has power windows, air conditioning, radio and a
sunroof. This stunning M3 is reportedly one of only 30 total M3s that were made in October 1995. Of those, the M
Owners' Registry shows only 13 had two doors and only one with five-speed manual transmission the owner reports.
The interior is unique to the cars made that month and the interior on this example is in very fine condition.
Research shows that this was the last year of the non-governed speed limiters, and only 500 were made in 1995.
The driving experience of this M 3 is exhilarating The car has monster power and loves to just keep going. It
shifts through the 5 speeds flawlessly. New tires were just installed on factory 17 ' BMW Motorsport wheels. Cross
drilled rotors make the car stop on a dime. Red calipers finish off the look of this amazing Coupe.
This BMW is painted in Avus Blue and is in Excellent condition and shines very well. its contrasted with a Light
grey interior, both of which are in excellent condition.A new headliner was just installed to complete the
interiors beauty. The engine compartment and floors are toothbrush clean, a clear indication of its pampered
ownership. Included with the car is the original radio , tools .
The auto check shows mileage issues from being handled by several dealers and the mileage was put in wrong at time
of transfer. The car shows 43 k miles and looks it . But i have no way to verify. I am selling the car as miles
exempt. Its a very nice and straight car and very clean top to bottom

Acura TLX Type S vs. BMW M340i xDrive | Sport sedan comparison test
Mon, Dec 27 2021Luxury sport sedans are still turning up on the market, and the Acura TLX Type S is one of the freshest cuts of meat in the window. It’s AcuraÂ’s big return to Type S performance models. Benchmarked against the proverbial best performance sedans of the segment, Acura is aiming to not just to compete, but to win dogfights like these. To see if the return of Type S is all itÂ’s cracked up to be, we decided to pin it up against the historical king of sport sedan shootouts: a BMW 3 Series. Specifically, the Type S is taking on the M340i xDrive, which is this AcuraÂ’s most natural competitor from Munich. Should the diehard BMW driver make the switch to Japanese performance? Does Type S do enough to lift this Acura up to best GermanyÂ’s finest? There are a lot of variables at play here, and they all make it complicated to choose a winner. The similarities between these two begin from the top of the spec sheet and go down. Both have 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder engines — BMW arranges its cylinders inline, while Acura chooses a V configuration. Quick-shifting automatic transmissions are standard. BMW uses an eight-speed unit, while Acura uses a 10-speed. Both get electronically-controlled dampers, big brakes and sticky summer rubber. They each offer up usable backseat space and reasonably-sized trunks. WeÂ’d feel just as confident showing up to an important business meeting in either one as we would at a track day. ThatÂ’s the beauty of this mid-tier performance segment. After looking at their specs, it shouldn't be surprising that the M340i is the quicker of the two here. Its 382 horsepower and 368 pound-feet of torque hit noticeably harder from any speed than AcuraÂ’s 355 horses and 354 pound-feet of torque. The Acura is also carrying an extra 232 pounds of curb weight over the Bimmer, which makes the M340iÂ’s 1-second advantage in the 0-60 mph sprint make perfect sense. For the record, BMW quotes a 4.1-second time, and Acura only offers an approximate time of 5 seconds. Both estimates feel accurate. Beyond sheer acceleration, both engines offer up their own version of tingly feel-goods. BMWÂ’s inline-six is as smooth as ever as it plays its sonorous note all the way to the 7,000 rpm redline. There are few sounds in the automotive universe that surpass the glee we feel when listening to a BMW inline-six at full-chat, and that rule still applies to the M340i.
Watch BMW 3 Series drift in Scotland
Sat, Sep 5 2015Drifting is inherently connected with Japan largely because the sport originally hails from there. That's why many of the traditionally popular drifting machines are from Toyota, Nissan, and Mazda. However, as long as the rear wheels can spin, you can slide it, no matter where a vehicle is from. For a new video, Xcar discovers a grassroots contingent in Scotland that specializes in smoking the tires of the BMW 3 Series. These guys aren't running the hugely expensive machines that you see in top events, but they definitely don't lack for passion to get a car sideways. One guy in the video runs an absolutely insane-looking Nissan-powered E36 3 Series convertible. Another competes in an E30 station wagon with a Toyota engine. Watching these unconventional drifters out on the track is a cool experience. Clearly, these folks are using what's around them to fulfill their need for speed, and they look like they're having a ton of fun doing it. BMW 7 Series could get M variant alongside Alpina B7
Tue, Jun 23 2015BMW is launching the new 7 Series with a limited engine lineup, but according to Car and Driver, there are more powerful versions on the way – including a potential M Performance model. The new 7 Series is initially being offered with a 320-horsepower turbo six and a 445-hp twin-turbo V8. European customers will also be able to spec a 261-hp diesel or a 320-hp hybrid. There's an M Sport package available as well with enhanced visual cues, but that won't be the extent of the performance choices when all is said and done. Expect a new 760i that will pack BMW's twin-turbo V12, and a new Alpina B7 to feature a more powerful twin-turbo V8 with around 600 horsepower. In parallel to the Alpina, however, C/D reports that an M Performance model could finally be in the works, which would ostensibly offer BMW the opportunity to go after the likes of the Audi S8, Jaguar XJR, and Mercedes S63 AMG, without changing tacks too drastically over the resolute position it's taken in the past against creating a full-on M7. C/D reports that there are more powerful diesels joining the lineup in the future, but those aren't likely to make their way to US showrooms anytime soon.
