Cpo'd Z4 3.0si, 6spd, M Leath Htd Sport Seats, Bluetooth, Sport Pkg, Premium Pkg on 2040-cars
Spring, Texas, United States
Selling my 2008 Z4 roadster. I
did a lot of homework on this car before buying it and was planning on keeping it much longer but I am moving from The Woodlands, TX to NYC and will
need a car I can drive all year round in that environment. The SI model has the more powerful 255hp HO motor, is very
light, and handles very well. I chose this car as I have a 94mi round trip commute and
wanted a fun, reliable car that got good gas mileage. This car has delivered: a very reliable vehicle
that gets 28+mpg on the highway (this car replaced an Audi S4 that averaged mid-teen
mpg). The Good: ·
Certified Pre-Owned BMW (transferrable) with
warranty that expires at the earlier of 100,000mi or 4/8/2014 = piece of mind ·
Car spent the first half of its life in Alabama
and is now in Texas. Has been a southern
car its entire life. ·
Difficult to find combination: o
M heated black leather sport seats o
Premium Package (power top, power seats, rain sensing wipers, BMW
Assist, Bluetooth, Speech recognition, Auto-dimming mirrors, Auto climate
control, Xenon lights w/ auto leveling) o
Sport Package (Sport suspension, two piece alloy
wheels, Dynamic Driving Control) o
6 speed manual transmission ·
Other options: o
Remote entry o
Cruise control o
Power mirrors o
Leather sport multi-function steering wheel o
THX sound system w/ Auxiliary input o Fog lights · High end ceramic window tint · The last model year of the naturally aspirated
in-line 6 engine in the Z4 that has been a reliable BMW workhorse for years ·
Good gas mileage (great gas mileage when you
consider performance of the car). ·
45 yr old, professional, non-smoker, parent that
has meticulously maintained the car · Oil changed with synthetic every 7,000 miles. Original battery replaced this spring. ·
Car is generally in great condition, looks and
feels very solid all around. ·
Convertible top is only two years old (see
below). Issues: ·
In March of this year, a newly minted driver
(just got his license) backed into the left rear of the car in downtown
Houston. o
No structural damage underneath, only scratched
and dented the rear quarter. o
Damaged part was replaced by a new BMW brand OEM
panel. No filler or fixing was done on
the quarter…just bolted a new one on and painted to match. Work was performed at the best shop in the
area & I have all receipts. ·
Typical rock chips/wear on the front of the car
consistent with the mileage on the car – paintwork on the rest of the car is
excellent. ·
Right front wheel has a small stain on the lip of the
wheel. No curb rash on any of the wheels. ·
Convertible top was replaced under warranty soon
after I bought the car. The top was
wearing in one spot when retracted. Was
not a significant issue (other than an aesthetic rub mark) but it was under
warranty and the dealer offered to install a brand new top so I took them up on it. Top has performed flawlessly since then. · Cup holder also replaced under warranty shortly after I bought the car. Warranty work was largely me being very particular about the car. |

BMW and Roland Sands show off Concept 101 custom bagger
Tue, May 26 2015Though BMW may not be the first motorcycle manufacturer that comes to mind when you think of cruisers, that's precisely what the German marque has unveiled – in concept form at least – at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este this year. Appearing alongside the 3.0 CSL Hommage concept, the BMW Concept 101 is a custom "bagger" created in California through a collaboration between BMW Motorrad, BMW Designworks, and legendary bike builder Roland Sands. Better suited towards cruising down the highway than carving up a racetrack or a dirt trail, the Concept 101 strikes a rather stunning (if uncharacteristic) form. The elongated shape is rendered in materials like brushed aluminum, carbon fiber, and wood trim, tapering towards the rear that encompasses two hard saddle bags characteristic of this style of cruiser. The top half of the bike is done up in lighter shades than the dark bottom, capped by a saddle crafted in fine-grain black leather, perforated black leather and a strip of brown leather. Power comes commandingly from an inline-six displacing 1.6 liters – or about 101 cubic inches, which along with Highway 101, gives the concept bike its name. The engine breaths out through a pair of tailpipes, each with three outlets to emphasize the six-cylinder and envision what it would look like if Munich opted to take on the Honda Gold Wing F6C Valkyrie. Of course this isn't the first time BMW has done a bike with Roland Sands, nor the first time it's displaying a bike concept at Villa d'Este. Last year the German marque displayed the Concept Roadster at the same show, and did the Concept Ninety with the same custom shop at the previous year's concours. BMW Motorrad "Concept 101" - The Spirit of the Open Road. Munich/Cernobbio. Every year, the most impressive representatives of the mobile past and future on both two and four wheels assemble at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este for a very special get-together on the shores of Lake Como. Amid this extraordinary blend of the traditional and the contemporary, BMW Motorrad once again presents a breathtaking concept study: the BMW Motorrad "Concept 101". "The Concept 101 opens up a new chapter in the history of our concept bikes. It is the BMW Motorrad interpretation of endless highways and the dream of freedom and independence - the perfect embodiment of "American touring". Designing this big touring bike study was amazingly exciting for us because we haven't been involved with a motorcycle concept like this before.
BMW 5 Series GT spied in the snow
Sat, Dec 19 2015Tuesday, December 22 might be the official start of winter, but as the northern hemisphere hunkers down for the darkest and coldest days of the year, the automotive testing community is beginning its annual migration to the snow-covered roads of Sweden. For BMW, that means heading north with the new 5 Series Gran Turismo. This isn't the first time we've seen the hunchbacked five-door, as our spies captured it about six weeks ago testing in Germany. This new round of images doesn't reveal a great deal more about the 5GT, but it's further evidence that BMW is moving into the next stage of testing. This still looks like it'll be a more stylish evolution of the original 5GT idea. And as our spies report, we can still expect a significant weight savings, too. We're still expecting the the second-gen 5GT to arrive in late 2016. Check out the full gallery of snowy spy shots up top.
Watch BMW 3 Series drift in Scotland
Sat, Sep 5 2015Drifting is inherently connected with Japan largely because the sport originally hails from there. That's why many of the traditionally popular drifting machines are from Toyota, Nissan, and Mazda. However, as long as the rear wheels can spin, you can slide it, no matter where a vehicle is from. For a new video, Xcar discovers a grassroots contingent in Scotland that specializes in smoking the tires of the BMW 3 Series. These guys aren't running the hugely expensive machines that you see in top events, but they definitely don't lack for passion to get a car sideways. One guy in the video runs an absolutely insane-looking Nissan-powered E36 3 Series convertible. Another competes in an E30 station wagon with a Toyota engine. Watching these unconventional drifters out on the track is a cool experience. Clearly, these folks are using what's around them to fulfill their need for speed, and they look like they're having a ton of fun doing it.
