Hello, up for sale is a car that has been my absolute pride and joy for the last 3 1/2 years. I'm only selling it
because I have picked up another vehicle to take its place. This is an extremely rare 2000 Z3 coupe 2.8 in Titanium
silver over Tanin red. There were only 27 made in this very desirable color combo! And only 7 exactly like this
one! 2000 is also the rarest year for the non M coupe. A total of only 98 Z3 coupes made with the tanin red! The
car has a CLEAN CARFAX.
This car has been absolutely babied its entire life. This car has a Harmon Kardon sound system with an upgraded JVC
radio with a bluetooth equipped microphone and pandora. (I also have the BMW CD43 Radio as well) the previous owner
was a good friend of mine. I have done quite a bit of extremely tasteful upgrades to this car. however, they are
easily reversible and i'm including all the OEM parts I have for it. The car has 130,xxx miles. Subject to go up
while for sale. I have upgraded the suspension to fully adjustable coilovers (Have stock suspension). Legally
tinted windows. I have upgraded the headlights to Umnitza projectors with Halo's (I have the stock Headlights).
Magnetic OEM stone guards (easily removable). A shorty antenna (I have the stock one). I took out the headliner and
pillars and had them refinished in a gorgeous black alcantara. I have changed out the orange corner lights for the
OEM euro clear ones (I have the orange ones). I bought brand new OEM M-coupe/roadster side Grilles and had them
professionally painted in titanium silver. (I have the stock grilles). I changed the shift boot and e-brake boot to
black for a more cleaner look (I have the stock red boots). Not only did I change the wood console out and had it
professionally wrapped in dry carbon fiber, I also did the 01+ console update with the OEM chrome rings, circular
On Board Computer and a brand new A/C switch. (I still have the original console and computer and the vinyl is
easily removable). I have 10mm ECS tuning rear spacers on the car as well. which includes extended black lugs. (I
have the stock lugs) I have every single receipt for anything i've ever purchased for the car. I recently installed
a weighted ZHP shift knob as well. This car also has a power tilting sunroof. I used to work at the BMW dealership
where this car was purchased and only took it to them for service.
I have the original window sticker and all books/literature for this car as pictured. It has a trunk net and cargo
cover as well as the on board computer which provides gas mileage, average speed, miles to empty, and temperature
outside. It has front and side driver and passenger side airbags. The car is mechanically excellent. The only issue
is a "5th gear lean" when the car is cold. It's very common on these cars and after it warms up, it's fine. The
engine and idle is as smooth and as quiet as any newer BMW I've driven. There are no lights or warnings on the
dash.

2015 BMW 228i Convertible
Thu, Feb 5 2015BMW history is littered with small, four-seater convertibles that offer style, spirited performance and driving flexibility. These days it's the 2 Series range, not the 1 or the 3, that carries on the droptop-driver's-car tradition, and the 2015 228i Convertible will the first flavor of it to hit US shores. With prices starting in the upper $30k range, conservative but attractive exterior styling and just enough interior comforts and amenities to feel like a true-luxury player, the 228i makes a strong initial case for itself as either a first or second vehicle. Concurrent with my First Drive of the 2015 BMW X6 M, the Germans brought along their new 2 for testing along some pretty mellow Texas driving routes outside of Austin. With roads that ranged from sweeping country lanes to small town streets, and weather changing handily from cold and misty to bright and warm, I got a good sample of what the new open-top 2 can do. Drive Notes I'll admit to getting behind the wheel of the 228i convertible with a bit of a bias: the old 1 Series line, including the droptop, was amongst my favorite BMW models in years. In terms of overall character, this 2 Series has mellowed a lot versus the chuckable, cheerful 1er. The steering response isn't quite so whip-fast, and the longer wheelbase means it's less willing to rotate overall. Of course, the 2, especially in convertible form, does feel better suited for the stereotypical small, premium convertible driver, too. Ride quality over our mostly smooth-road drive route was placid and controlled, and steering still felt steady and weighty on center and with lock added in. The car also offers really well-sorted protection from wind buffeting and noise, both with the top raised and lowered. I drove topless on the highway and on surface streets, and was impressed at how cozy I felt with the wind deflector erected and the windows up. Cold-weather convertiblers should do well with this BMW (especially when the xDrive AWD car launches, later in the year). Erect the folding soft top – a feature that's available at speeds up to 30 miles per hour – and the NVH experience is transformed. BMW says that the top-up wind noise has been reduced "by half" versus the 1 Series – a fact that I had no trouble believing after the first few seconds. Wind rush is basically eliminated with the roof raised, and the car becomes a downright conversational space thusly set up.
BMW considering North American engine plant?
Fri, 13 Dec 2013BMW may be set to expand its US operations with a new engine plant, Bloomberg reports. The Bavarian automaker already has its Spartanburg, SC factory which builds the company's X3, X5 and X6 crossovers. According to the story, Mexico is also under consideration for the BMW engine factory, with the report claiming a final decision will be made in 2014.
"Establishing local motor manufacturing abroad is more complex than assembling cars, but it's a logical step for them to eventually start making engines in markets where they're expanding vehicle production," Juergen Pieper, an analyst for Bankhaus Metzler tells Bloomberg. Building engines in the US or Mexico would save BMW from having to ship engines for some of its most popular models across the Atlantic.
BMW, for its part, hasn't said anything concrete. Spokesman Mathias Schmidt is quoted in the story saying, "As part of our long-term growth strategy, we're frequently looking at different countries for possible locations of future production facilities. No decisions have been made yet, though, for an additional plant."
10 electric cars we’re excited are coming soon
Thu, Sep 22 2022If you were considering buying an electric vehicle a couple years ago, we wouldn't fault you for thinking your options were limited, both in terms of quantity and quality. You just might not have been able to find an electric car that would suit your needs, lifestyle or budget. With the newest generation of EVs that have launched in the past year or two, your options have changed — and improved — dramatically. If you still don't see an EV you like, just wait a little while longer. It won't take long. There are a whole lot more on the horizon, and the problem may soon be in narrowing down your options. To give you an example, here are 10 electric vehicles we're excited about that you'll be able to buy very soon, from GM, from Germany, from Japan and more. Some of these will be available by the end of the year, and all are expected to launch by the end of 2023. The Chevy trio: 2024 Blazer EV, Equinox EV and Silverado EV GM is stepping into the future with strong footing. Following high-end electric launches from GMC (Hummer EV) and Cadillac (Lyriq), Chevrolet is bringing three electric vehicles with familiar nameplates. The 2024 Chevy Blazer EV (above left) will offer a number of versions, starting with the 2LT and RS trims in the summer of 2023, followed by the 557-horsepower SS in the fall and the base 1LT in early 2024. The 2024 Chevy Equinox EV (above right) will go on sale in fall 2023 as a limited-edition model, with volume sales ramping up in 2024, with a base cost of “around $30,000.” For those who prefer a bed to a liftgate, the 2024 Chevy Silverado EV is an electric pickup that looks more like the old Chevy Avalanche than the current Silverado. The WT (work truck) trim launches in fall 2023, while the 664-horsepower RST will follow in 2024.
