Hello,

This is my wife's car.
We bought brand new in March/April 2012.
Essentially babied, all highway miles.
We are selling this car because we now work from home and don't
need a second vehicle.

It has 4 more years of bumper to bumper warranty and full maintenance paid for
by BMW to 50,000 miles. After 50K miles you can extend the warranty & maintenance
with BMW for very reasonable prices. I have also owned Mercedes Bluetec SUV,
VW Touareg V10 twin turbo-diesel, and the X5 35d is better than them all, especially when
considering the price. I think the X5 35d is priced very well when comparing mid sized SUVs.
It simply drives better than the rest. The Porsche Cayanne Diesel does not perform this well,
it feels like a slug in comparison to this 35d.

The 35d turbo-diesel was the only option for me when considering the
X5, the mileage is incredible compared to any of the gas versions.
The diesel will have better resale value, get better MPG, and the engine
will last longer. I haven't bought a gas car in over 10 years and have
always been thrilled to own diesels because they're more efficient and powerful,
yet have better MPG.

This X5 has no issues whatsoever, and needs to work, it has been in no accidents
or received any paint or body work.

It has sport package, technology package (keyless entry and exit, navigation),
upgraded sound package, rear A/C.

The sport package to me is the most necessary to take full
advantage of this car, that was an absolutely necessary upgrade.
I personally didn't like the way the non-sport
versions felt. I really like the feel of the bigger wheels and tires,
the suspension and steering, etc., much more solid, and better performing.
These are very wide tires, and make a huge difference vs. the non-sport version
of the X5. It unquestionably handles better and is more solid.

Keyless entry and exit system means never having to take your key out of your pocket,
and once you get used to that, it'll be hard to ever be without it again.
Lock, unlock, and start the car w/out using the key.

High definition rearview camera, navigation, black leather interior.
Fantastic voice activated GPS/NAV system, BMW assist, internet access,
bluetooth phone & audio, loads of great technology in this car.

We added BMW wheel & tire insurance which has already paid for itself twice over and then some.
I believe at the time of purchase the insurance was about $500-600.
Any flat tire or wheel issue is replaced no questions asked, a great product.
Have used it twice for flat tires. The tires are $700-800 each,
so the fact that this car has that insurance attached to it for 4 more
years is a really good thing!

Had $500.00 3M scotch guard protectant at time of purchase for interior and exterior.

Has been garaged it's whole life.

Has very high quality tint $500.00, done by a high end shop in Los Angeles.

I have sold quite a few cars on ebay since 1999 (NOT a dealer) and will
gladly help with your test drive, shipping, or airport pickup if you're coming in front out of state.

Private Party blue book is $50,360, then factor in tinting and wheel/tire insurance,
and a $500.00 paint/leather protectant.

Please email with any questions, thanks.

BMW M4 vs. Lexus RC F in Head 2 Head sports coupe showdown

Wed, 29 Oct 2014

It's the showdown everyone's been looking forward to, the East versus West grudge match of the year. We're talking, of course, about the BMW M4 versus the Lexus RC F.
Although BMW uses a twin-turbo straight-six and the Lexus uses a free-breathing V8, the two are pretty closely matched on paper: a luxury coupe with over 400 horsepower channeled to the rear wheels.
The BMW has been doing these cars for longer, and the M4 boasts a higher power-to-weight ratio. But then the RC F has more power - and without forced induction to break up the rev range. So which is the better luxury muscle coupe? Watch the latest episode of Motor Trend Head 2 Head to find out.

Best electric sedans of 2024

Wed, Jan 31 2024

While the American automotive trends tend to lean toward SUVs and trucks, and sedans seem to be dying out, there are some great four-doors out there in the EV market. They may not have the bulk, the high vantage point, or the storage capacity of the utes, but some folks still want a car that’s, well, a car. A sedan might not always have as much room to cram in a big battery pack, either, but they also donÂ’t weigh as much. They tend to be more lithe, sexy and agile. And theyÂ’re generally cheaper than their bigger brethren, too, though some of the full-size luxury sedans can still get well into six-figure pricing. If thatÂ’s not your thing, you can check out the best electric SUVs, but if youÂ’ve read this far, you probably enjoy sedans as much as us. WeÂ’ve tested quite a few, and these are the best electric sedans of 2024.   Best electric sedans below $60,000 Tesla Model 3 — $40,380 The Tesla Model 3 is one of just two sedans (along with the Hyundai Ioniq 6) to make it onto our list of best EVs under $50,000. ItÂ’s quite the value, too, with a starting price of just $40,380. ItÂ’s also fun to drive. Yes, it has some quirks, including too many vehicle functions residing exclusively in infotainment menus, but the Model 3's idiosyncrasies are easy to forgive based on its price and range, and they're things you can quickly get used to or possibly even appreciate. No wonder this EV is so popular.   Hyundai Ioniq 6 — $43,565 Of the sedans on this list, the Ioniq 6 is one of the most affordable (starting at $43,565), and one of the best. ItÂ’s quite efficient, with long driving range — up to 361 miles. Its cabin is creative in its design while being practical and comfortable. Interestingly, the Hyundai Ioniq 6 is the sportiest version of Hyundai and KiaÂ’s E-GMP cars, apart from the high-performance Kia EV6 GT. Its design, value, range, fast charging and other useful tech easily make it one of best electric sedans you can buy.   BMW i4 — $53,195 Though the BMW i4 is essentially an electric version of the 4 Series Gran Coupe, this EV sedan is something special. ItÂ’s packed with power and great driving dynamics in true BMW style. The rear-drive i4 eDrive40 is one quick car, but the i4 M50 is ridiculously fast. If you can get past the questionable nose and the iDrive 8 infotainment system, the i4 is an electric sleeper, and a performance bargain.

Porsche 911 Turbo and Nissan GT-R Nismo star in World's Greatest Drag Race 4

Fri, 26 Sep 2014

We love Motor Trend's annual World's Greatest Drag Race video. Now back for its fourth appearance, the idea of lining some of the world's fastest cars up for a ten-wide, straight-line, full-throttle run is, well... it's pretty freaking badass.
The lineup this year boasts some impressively fast cars to be sure. The group of ten includes the following darlings: Alfa Romeo 4C, BMW i8, BMW M4, Chevrolet Camaro Z/28, Ford Fiesta ST, Jaguar F-Type R Coupe, Nissan GT-R Nismo, Porsche 911 Turbo S, Subaru WRX STI and, last but not least, the Volkswagen GTI. Give us any one of those for the weekend, and we're happy to take the keys.
It must be said though, that for a publication that draws as much water as Motor Trend does, there are some big cars that we might expect to be here instead. The Lamborghini Huracán or Ferrari 458 Speciale would have added some exotic flare to the list, and the omissions of the Chevy Corvette Stingray (for the second year in a row) and the Dodge Challenger Hellcat are real head-scratchers.
