***It was just brought to my attention.  The accident that comes up on Autocheck does not come up on CARFax.  It is just a scratch (less than 2mph impact on the rear bumper) that is still there.  Rear bumper still has original paint on it.  Regarding the "possible odometer rollback"... I bought the car with 91,000 miles not 9,100 miles.  I just looked at my title, and sure enough there is a typo.  The local DMV mistyped 9,100 instead of 91,000 and it got sent to autocheck.  THERE IS NO ROLLBACK ON THIS X5.  Got screwed by the system!***

Im selling my 2005 BMW X5 black on black with 4.4i engine. The car is in mint condition, without any rips or tears, and without any errors or service lights on. It drives great and everything is in working order. We're downsizing our car stable, so the X5 has to go. It doesn't get driven often.

Has following options installed (all options available at the time):
-navigation
-cold weather package
-rear heated seats
-premium package
-sports package (19" wheels)
-sports interior (bucket seats)
-panoramic roof
-PDC front/back
-6 CD changer
-side privacy curtains
-cargo area cover

Recent maintenance includes (all performed at BMW dealers):

-oil and filter change at 63,000 miles
 -wheel alignment at 63,000 miles
-all belts replaced at 63,000 miles
-water pump and thermostat replaced at 64,000 miles
 -transmission replaced at 68,000 miles
-rear brakes replaced at 74,000 miles
-brake fluid replaced at 74,000 miles
-oil and filter change at 91,000 miles
-navigation display replaced at 91,500 miles
 -wheel alignment at 92,000 miles
-ac compressor replaced at 92,000 miles
-vacuum pump replaced at 92,000 miles
-front brakes replaced at 92,000 miles
-coolant expansion tank replaced at 94,000 miles
-oil and filter change at 95,000 miles
-passenger door window regulator replaced at 95,000 miles

I've been a car enthusiast and BMWCCA member for over 15 years. I've always over maintained the cars I've had and took really good care of them. The X5 is in overall great condition. The paint in great shape. Has 4 matching tires with at least 60-75% thread life left. Engine runs smooth, transmission shifts effortlessly.

ROEV lets you use multiple charging networks with one account

Thu, Nov 19 2015

It may be a textbook case of a first-world problem, but any EV driver who doesn't want to carry two or three plug-in vehicle charging station cards when one would do is about to get a little smile on their face. This morning at the LA Auto Show, the new ROEV Association was announced that will let EV drivers carry just the one card. While you would think the all-caps ROEV stands for something, none of the pre-announcement materials nor the website explain it that way. Instead, it seems to just be a play on rove, which makes a lot of sense. There are three charging networks involved in ROEV: Blink, ChargePoint, and EVgo. Conveniently, these are the three largest in the US and have a combined 17,500 public chargers across the country. If you've got an account with one of these three networks, once ROEV goes into effect (expected in the spring of 2016), you'll be able to use that card at any participating charger without signing up for another account. Your personal details are kept private, ROEV says, and the companies coordinate behind the scenes to make it work. Pricing details were not disclosed. Besides the three main charging networks, two automakers are also founding members of ROEV: BMW and Nissan. ROEV says that Audi and Honda have also have already joined the Association and the organization wants to pull in all EV stakeholders to make electric vehicle charging easy. Fans of EV technology will note that ROEV has nothing to do with promoting either the CHAdeMO or the SAE Combo (CCS) fast charging standard. The Leaf is a CHAdeMO car while the i3 uses CCS, for example. The charging networks, of course, provide both kinds of plugs and don't promote one over the other. Tesla and its Supercharger network are not involved in ROEV, but Tesla drivers can, of course, participate in ROEV.

2015 BMW i8 offers you a fast ride to the future for $135,700* [w/video]

Tue, 10 Sep 2013

BMW's long-form teasing and rollout of its incredibly cool i8 has put us in a unique position to report from its world debut here in Frankfurt. Typically, an auto show debut marks just the start of the information dump about a new vehicle. The i8, however, is a car that we've already driven and reviewed, so perhaps the biggest news from the show floor is the official price of the thing, as well as getting to see it live and in person, of course.
Arriving in US showrooms in the spring of 2014, the i8 performance plug-in hybrid will carry a price tag of $135,700 (*not including $925 for destination and handling charges). That kind of cash puts the i8 near the very top of the BMW range (slotting just under the top-trim 7-Series models), and will buy a massive amount of new technology.
The four-seat i8 has the look of a true supercar, and its new-tech drivetrain will offer up the performance of a stirring sports car, at least. A TwinPower Turbo, three-cylinder, 1.5-liter engine will make 231 horsepower and 236 pound-feet of torque that's gets sent to the rear wheels, while a 96-kilowatt electric motor doles out 131 hp and 184 lb-ft of maximum torque to the fronts. Total system output of 362 hp and 420 lb-ft allows the i8 to sprint to 62 miles per hour in 4.4 seconds with all-wheels-driven handling, and it still returns an astonishing 94 miles per gallon US.

Next-gen BMW 5 Series sedan spotted with production body, possible PHEV

Fri, Dec 12 2014

The current BMW 5 Series is just a few years old since its 2009 debut, but the Bavarians are already preparing to put the model out to pasture. Here's our first glimpse at the production bodywork for the next-gen sedan after spotting the wagon version during testing – twice. While the cladding and swirling camouflage make specific details difficult to discern, it doesn't look like we should expect any massive changes in design language from the new model. The nose appears to dip a bit more at the tip of the front end, but otherwise there's no way to mistake this as anything other than a 5 Series. Squint hard enough at the front left fender and you can notice what seems to be a small door. Our spies think that this might be hiding the charging port for a plug-in hybrid version. While the styling doesn't appear to be changing much, the next 5er reportedly has a new platform underneath the skin that supposedly will help it shed around 220 pounds. The debut for this lighter but likely similar looking BMW is expected sometime in 2016.
