Out-accelerates some of the world's best sports cars yet comfortable enough for urban freeways, 2007 BMW M6 is that rare vehicle that s also an exotic daily driver. Nav Sys, HUD Display, BMW Assist w/Bluetooth, Carbon Fiber Black Trim, Comfort Access Keyless Entry, Heated fr seats, Logic7 sound sys, Park Dist Control, & SIRIUS Sat Radio. This wonderful 2007 BMW M6 in amazing condition, with all the luxury features you'd expect, and more! A 5.0-liter V10 powerhouse M6 engine with 500 hp and 383 lb-ft of torque. With infinitely variable valve timing & separate throttle butterfly for each cylinder, the V10 s broad power spread gets even more aggressive rushing toward its 8,250-rpm redline via its amazing 7-speed auto Sequential Manual Gearbox (SMG). When shifted manually (via wheel-paddles or console-mounted shifter), the SMG works wonderfully, blipping the throttle in blindingly fast downshifts and upshifting rapidity that will win most stoplight races. In auto mode the SMG is suitable as a gentle daily driver. The I-Drive system has an M-Drive menu allows the driver to program preferred throttle and transmission settings to suit ANY driver! This gorgeous, near mint condition M6 goes 0- 60 mph in 4.6 seconds, quarter-mile in 12.8 seconds at 117.4 mph; a successful launch requires delicate footwork, given the massive amount of torque going to the 285/35ZR19 rear tires. This is a great previously owned, smoke-free, garage kept vehicle; NEVER left in the sun! No damage evident other than minimal routine wear & tear. The engine runs beautifully. Extra clean exterior & interior/non-smoking vehicle. No rips/tears/odors/abuse. There is approximately 95% of the tire tread remaining as we recently placed NEW FACTORY SPEC TIRES. This exotic beauty was meticulously maintained by its sole owner, a mature female, since she bought it new in 2007.There are no signs of damage on this vehicle. Smooth shifting transmission & all power equipment functioning properly. Includes custom installed BEL radar/laser detector with front & rear detection. |

Poor headlights cause 40 cars to miss IIHS Top Safety Pick rating
Mon, Aug 6 2018Over the past few months, we've noticed a number of cars and SUVs that have come incredibly close to earning one of the IIHS's highest accolades, the Top Safety Pick rating. They have great crash test scores and solid automatic emergency braking and forward collision warning systems. What trips them up is headlights. That got us wondering, how many vehicles are there that are coming up short because they don't have headlights that meet the organization's criteria for an "Acceptable" or "Good" rating. This is a revision made after 2017, a year in which headlights weren't factored in for this specific award. This is also why why some vehicles, such as the Ford F-150, might have had the award last year, but have lost it for this year. We reached out to someone at IIHS to find out. He responded with the following car models. Depending on how you count, a whopping 40 models crash well enough to receive the rating, but don't get it because their headlights are either "Poor" or "Marginal." We say depending on how you count because the IIHS actual counts truck body styles differently, and the Infiniti Q70 is a special case. Apparently the version of the Q70 that has good headlights doesn't have adequate forward collision prevention technology. And the one that has good forward collision tech doesn't have good enough headlights. We've provided the entire list of vehicles below in alphabetical order. Interestingly, it seems the Volkswagen Group is having the most difficulty providing good headlights with its otherwise safe cars. It had the most models on the list at 9 split between Audi and Volkswagen. GM is next in line with 7 models. It is worth noting again that though these vehicles have subpar headlights and don't quite earn Top Safety Pick awards, that doesn't mean they're unsafe. They all score well enough in crash testing and forward collision prevention that they would get the coveted award if the lights were better.
BMW i8 named Autoblog's 2014 Technology of the Year [w/video]
Thu, Nov 20 2014The winner of Autoblog's 2014 Technology of the Year award was given this year for not just one technology, but for how a suite of technologies worked together to make one impressive vehicle. The BMW i8 was named the winner Wednesday night at the Belasco Theater in downtown Los Angeles, just outside the Los Angeles Auto Show. Autoblog's editorial staff agreed that the i8, which drew crowds of attention during our testing days, represents a future of driving that we can't wait to see happen. "I do believe that green vehicles solve a very fundamental problem, and if a car like the i8 can get a rich man with good knees (to get in and out of the car) to drive something with a plug instead of a 12-mpg sports car, then mission accomplished," says Sebastian Blanco, editor of AutoblogGreen and one of our judges. The panel reviewed nearly 50 qualified submissions from readers, editorial staff and industry, the panel of judges named the following as finalists: Dodge's SRT Performance Pages (read more here) The Subaru Eyesight forward collision warning system (read more here) The Performance Data Recorder in the 2015 Chevy Corvette (read more here) The 1.0-liter Ecoboost engine from Ford (read more here) Chrysler's 3.0-liter EcoDiesel V6 engine (read more here) Ultimately, we picked the car that excited us the most. The BMW i8 has a throaty exhaust note when accelerating. It's got carbon fiber, and a plug-in hybrid system that uses a small 1.5-liter three-cylinder engine and an electric motor. It has through-the-road all-wheel drive, and in Europe it'll come with laser beams for headlights. All that, and it's a massive eye catcher. People stop and stare when they see this car, for good reason. It's simply gorgeous. For a more in-depth look at our testing of the car, click here.
BMW intros Concept M4 GTS ahead of Pebble Beach debut
Fri, Aug 14 2015Meet the BMW Concept M4 GTS. Coming to this weekend's Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance, the new high-performance coupe gets both performance and aesthetic upgrades as it previews a higher-performance version of BMW's two-door darling. The headlining item is the new water-injection system. As previously reported, the setup draws from a 1.3-gallon water tank and was pioneered by the M4 Safety Car used in the MotoGP series. The new system injects water directly into the plenums of the intake manifold, where it is vaporized. The result is a lower compression temperature in the combustion chamber, which according to BMW means more horsepower and torque. You can get a broader explanation in the attached press release. Beyond the water-injection system, the M4 GTS will get OLED taillights. Their function sounds very German – "producing full-surface and homogenous illumination" – but we simply prefer the impact they've had on the look of the rear lights. It's markedly different than anything else in the BMW suite. There is a mix of aesthetic and performance upgrades to the normal M4 exterior, too. BMW has fitted manually adjustable aerodynamic aids, with a new chin splitter and a prominent rear spoiler. Both items are, unsurprisingly, made from exposed carbon fiber. BMW also turned to composites for the hood, opting for carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic. We're particularly fond of the M4 GTS' wheels. They're absolutely stunning staggered hoops, with 19-inchers in front and 20s in back. The 666M style, as BMW calls them, feature Acid Orange accents that really play well with the Frozen Dark Grey paint (although they clash quite badly with the yellow calipers on the carbon-ceramic brakes). Stay tuned for more on the new Concept M4 GTS, including live images from its debut in sunny California. Until then, scroll down for the official press release from BMW.
