Purchased this car not long ago in hopes of slowly restoring the car as I enjoy it, but I have another project in mind and selling this will help fund it(another ///M car and my first motorcycle!) If you have questions don't hesitate to ask, happy to take more photos as well. I will try to represent the car as openly as possible, but its often easy to forget a few details.

The car has been maintained well by every owner and it shows(a thick booklet of receipts...), seems like everything has been gone over once, some things multiple times. Overall its a great running example that has a few blemishes here and there, but still looks great even from 5 feet away. Over the summer I took the car on a 1700 mile road trip, as well as a few cabin trips and it had no problem doing so. If you are in the market for an E28 M5 you will have found that a $5000 car can easily be a $20,000 car, this one is a car you can enjoy right away and change it as it suits. The car is also very clean, including frequent washings, treating of all rubber seals, interior detailing and never bringing food into the car. My immediate plans were to re-cover the aging interior parts, have the light rust treated over the winter, and order custom coilover suspension to improve ride and handling.

Recent Maintenance(last 1000 miles):
Motul 15w50 engine oil
New OEM air filter
Motul 75w80 Transmission fluid
Motul 75/90 Rear Differential fluid
Spark Plugs
Fan clutch

Notes:
Tires are nearly new Hankook Ventus V12
Most electronics work: Seat adjusments, windows, sunroof, check panel, on board computer are the most notable that often aren't working.
AC needs to be recharged.
Do not know the code for the radio, but after entering 5 characters it beeps, and the antenna raises and lowers when its turned on, presumably it works.
Most of the front suspension replaced with new Lemforder parts by previous owner, still in great shape.
From what I can tell non-smoker, no smell and the ash trays look new.
Central locking only works from trunk.
The engine was replaced, currently it has 87,000 miles.
At some point someone got carried away with an orbital polisher, on edges the paint has been slightly worn off revealing the primer.
Rust has started under the two front jack points, and slightly on the adjacent panels, its minor at this point. I was quoted $1100 to fix. Other than this its very clean, with no rust under the doors, in the trunk, or the damper mounts.
There are several small door dings around the car.
All panels have VIN sticker suggesting no serious accidents.
Front drivers side bumper cover is slightly cracked.
Dash is cracked, as has some of the leather has as well.
Trunk spring needs replacing.

Things changed from stock:
Turner Motorsports Conforti Chip
Koala LSD rear rebuild (3.91:1)
UUC motorsports shifter
Paul Grey Thrust Arm bushes
E34 Rear brakes
Stainless Brakes lines
Front brake ducts

For the buy it now price I will complete the following(had parts already as I was planning on keeping the car):
New front rotors and pads(currently slightly warped and I don't like the pads, loud when cold)
Flex disk
Powerflex front sway bar bushings
Lemforder front end links
Powerflex rear sway bar bushings
Valve adjustment(due in 3000 miles)

BMW restores classic Mini as it revives production in Netherlands

Wed, 13 Nov 2013

Mini will be kicking off production in the Netherlands, a country that hasn't built a Mini-badged machine since 1966. In honor of this event, BMW Group Classic, the team responsible for all the cars in the BMW Museum, as well as being a spare parts and restoration company in its own right, revived a classic 1959 Austin Seven. That particular car, number 983, was one of the first Minis to be built in the Netherlands.
The Netherlands' JJ Molenaar's Car Companies built 4,000 Austin Sevens and Morris Mini-Minors between 1959 and 1966, although we imagine Dutch Mini production will be much bigger when it starts up again in summer 2014. A five-person team from VDL Nedcar, the group handling production of new Minis, took to the job of restoring the diminutive British car from nose to tail.
The 34-horsepower engine and the transmission were both completely rebuilt, while the door panels were redone by hand. Help from the Mini community aided the VDL Nedcar team in finding authentic replicas or original parts where possible. All told, the new classic Mini is a striking example of what a good restoration can do to a car. The Seven was repainted in its original Farina Gray, adding to the car's sense of authenticity.

BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage evokes classic 1970s Bimmer design

Fri, May 22 2015

BMW enjoys taking advantage of the annual Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este as an opportunity to re-imagine some of company's vintage shapes in modern ways with concepts like the M1 Hommage, 328 Hommage, Concept 90 motorcycle, and even last year's Mini Superleggera. This year's event on the shores of Lake Como is no different, and the Bavarian brand is celebrating one of its great sports coupes from the 1970s with the BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage. Bathed in a shade called Golf Yellow that perfectly evokes the era of the original, the Hommage's design seems to incorporate a few cues from the current 6 Series into the classic look of the 3.0 CSL. However, the front end is actually a little ungainly to our eyes due to the massive grille, and the fenders that fold up over the hood. The laser headlights are a great touch because their X-shaped centers are inspired by old racecars. The design improves significantly in profile and really starts to show the inspiration from the original 3.0 CSL. This concept has some beautiful rear haunches, and the big, creased fenders lead the eye to the massive rear wing. The back end also maintains much of the vintage design, including the roof spoiler, but the shape gets modern touches. So while the source of this inspiration was a bit angular, the lines have been gently curved for the Hommage. Of course, a CSL must be lightweight, as signified by the last letter in its name. Where the original uses aluminum and Plexiglas to shed pounds, the Hommage uses carbon-fiber-reinforced plastic parts throughout the body. The interior is also made from CFRP, and occupants sit in quilted racing buckets. An especially cool touch is the V-shaped cross-member at the back that evokes the look of a roll cage, while being a bit more artistic. The only indication that BMW is giving about the 3.0 CSL Hommage's powertrain is that it uses an inline six with eBoost, but as a concept the engine doesn't really matter, anyway. Get a good look at the whole design in the gallery above. BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage. Racing flair with a touch of class. Munich/Cernobbio. Amid the audacious design studies and automotive beauties from a bygone era gathered at the Concorso d'Eleganza Villa d'Este, the BMW Group presents its new BMW 3.0 CSL Hommage – and in the process makes a pretty formidable statement of its own. This model is the BMW Design Team's tribute to the 3.0 CSL, a timeless classic and iconic BMW Coupe from the 1970s.
