Just in time for summer...
You are bidding on a 2002 BMW M3 Convertible. Experience open air, sports car performance in a four-passenger car you can drive every day. The 3.2L inline six-cylinder engine generates 333 hp, has an 8000 RPM redline and a 0-60 time of 5.4 seconds! Combine this with phenomenal handling and braking and you have the complete package for a true driver's car.
You are purchasing this car from its original owner, who ordered it to his specifications from BMW Seattle in 2002. It has been garaged since new in a smoke-free environment and has never been smoked in or even driven by a smoker. No pets have ever ridden in this car. The fully-automatic power top works excellently and has never leaked. This car is all original and can be enjoyed as is or customized to suit your tastes.
This car is equipped with a Formula One-derived Sequential Manual Gearbox (SMG). SMG is a real manual transmission with a hydraulically-actuated clutch in place of the clutch pedal. It gives you lightning-fast shifts from steering wheel-mounted paddles or the console-mounted shifter, while being easy to drive around town or in stop-and-go traffic.
This car is finished in a rare and stunning color combination of a Titanium Silver exterior and Black roof with an Imola Red and Black interior that is a constant source of compliments. It comes with a full complement of standard features including BMW M suspension and rear differential, automatic climate control, and rollover protection. It is well optioned, including Harmon-Kardon premium sound, xenon headlights with light sensor, rain-sensing wipers, rear parking sensors, and rear side airbags. In addition to the factory options, the car has a 3M Clear Bra that was installed when the car was new and comes with a genuine BMW wind blocker ($500 if purchased new). iPod connectivity was added in late 2011, though the iPod plug is currently damaged and needs to be repaired. The standard 18" wheels are wearing Michelin Pilot Sport A/S Plus ultra-high performance all-season tires; the rear tires have less than 14K miles on them and the front tires have 10K miles.
The car has been serviced regularly since new only at authorized BMW dealers and an independent shop that specializes in BMWs. Detailed service records are available upon request.
The car comes with its original keys and full set of manuals, the original Monroney (window) sticker, and even the original brochures. You will not find a nicer specimen of this model!
I love this car and still drive it regularly, but have to make room in my garage for a new car that's on the way.
Please contact me if you have other questions or would like to see additional photos of the car and its documentation. Serious inquiries only please.

BMW reminds us what made the original M3 so great
Mon, Dec 21 2015Just because many are slavering for the global debut of the 2016 BMW M2 at the Detroit Motor Show doesn't mean BMW will let us forget the coupe that gave the letter "M" its global moxie: the M3. The Roundel has posted the first in a five-part series devoted to that seminal M, the 1987-1991 E30. Built as a homologation requirement for the race car BMW needed to beat Mercedes 190E 2.3/16V in the German Touring Car Championship, it was 1.5 times more expensive than the 325i of the time and company sales heads had doubts about being able to sell all 5,000 of them. As we know, that story had a happy ending. The first models came with a 2.3-liter four-cylinder with 195 horsepower, a chopped and tuned combination of the four-cylinder M10 block first used in 1962 and in Formula 1, with a cylinder head from the six-cylinder M88 that did duty in the M1. By the time the M3 Sport Evolution models marked the end of the first-gen production run, displacement had risen to 2.5 literz and output to 238 hp, but more important than those numbers were the phenomenal handling and relentless race victories. You should definitely check out the video above for BMW's peek into the backstory of the fourth M car after the M1, M535i, M635 CSi, and M5, and arguably most important. But if your M-centric tastebuds prefer a more modern take on the German brand's most driver-friendly vehicles, take a look at the videos below. Related Video:
BMW 3 Series set for mild facelift
Fri, 28 Mar 2014The latest BMW 3 Series is pretty new, right? Well it's been on the market for the better part of three years now. And on a typical six-year production cycle, that means it's halfway through its life. It only makes sense, then, that BMW should be preparing a little mid-life facelift, and that's just what we appear to be looking at in these latest spy shots.
The changes will likely be minimal when the revised 3 Series debuts sometime in the middle of next year, with the visual changes to the exterior centering around a new front bumper. New lighting front and rear may also be part of the package, and you can also expect some updates to the interior while those Bavarian engineers are at it. Take a closer look in the gallery of high-res spy shots above for an idea of what to expect.
Mini Vision Next 100 concept invokes an alternate universe
Thu, Jun 16 2016Sir Alec Issigonis, designer of the 1959 Mini, would probably find Mini's new Vision Next 100 concept amusing. The original Mini was largely an exercise in efficient packaging and clever engineering. That it was handsome, and became iconic, was more a product of its wild success than an intentional product of its exterior styling. While the Mini concept is undoubtedly cleverly packaged, it's almost purely a styling exercise, no matter what sort of futuristic connected/autonomous functionality Mini says it'll have. Mini doesn't seem able to move past the Mini as a caricature of itself. The heavy, floating roof, the vestigial round and friendly "headlamps", the oversized gauge pod. This seems very German, the inability to communicate essential brand attributes without using cliches. Mini is in a styling rut, trying to evolve the same basic styling language with each new generation, stretching it over larger hard points. The Vision Next 100 program would have been a great time to communicate to the public that Mini is more than just styling tropes: it's an attitude, a way of thinking, a connectedness to the driver. More than a badge or bug-eyed headlights. To its credit, the interior is massively decluttered. That's in part to the rear-engine layout, but more on that in a follow-up piece. The comparatively vast footwell and ultra-minimalist dash pair well with the giant windscreen. It feels light, airy, and authentic to the ideals of the originally Mini in terms of space efficiency, without being overly sentimental. Futurism is a thankless profession, and we can't take this concept literally as a vision of what the brand will be in 100 years. We can say this: it doesn't seem that Mini will be able to transcend the styling tropes that currently define Mini. Let's hope they find a way out of their rut.
