Up for auction is my 2008 M3 Sedan I purchased August 4, 2012 from Global Imports BMW. I'm sure you are asking why I'm selling so soon. Well here's the story. We were shopping for a car for my wife - looking at X5s, Q7s, and GL500s. We drove to Atlanta to spend a weekend together and goof off looking at cars. We happened upon the most beautiful, outrageous BMW I had ever seen. It has this trick leather interior that goes perfectly with the Silver exterior and I fell in love. I was/am turning 40 in March 2013 (purchaed the car August 2012) so my wife told me I should get it. What would you do? I've had a lifetime of buying myself a car every other year - mainly watercooled VWs and Porsches. I never had an M3 and it was on the list. The difference for me was this car is a $40,000 car plus warranty. I never had a problem with $5-10k cars just sitting in the garage but it seems a waste to have a depreciating asset in the garage. I love the car but I do not like driving dirty sports cars so it's only driven once a month or so and now that I've got the car out of system I'm ready to pass it on.
The really good news for you is that I purchased an "Easy Care" "Total Care" warranty for 3 years / 75,000 miles for a price of over $3,400. This is a transferable warranty and not some junk aftermarket warranty. You can call your local BMW dealer and ask if it is a legitimate company or not. I have acquantainces that work at the BMW dealer and they say the fix cars with this warranty all the time and there is no hassle. I have placed a little over 1,000 miles on the vehicle from the time of purchase of the warranty. The vehicle came to Global Imports as an off-lease car from a local doctor. This is a no stories car and I have kept is garaged the entire time of my ownership. The pictures will tell the story. No mechanical issues whatsoever.
It is a used car. There are maybe 3 or 4 small rock chips on the car, no dings, a few small scratches below the front spoiler that you need to lay on your belly to view, and the rear tires will need replacing in a few thousand miles (I was not harsh on the car but I did play in it a couple of times and it will smoke the tires - the car was not abused, I just had a little fun it one day :) - if anyone tells you they never drove their M3 fast they are a liar).
Bottom line is this, if you are in the market for this car you will not be dissapointed. I have my own business, a wife, and 3 daughters and I do not sell vehicles for a living. Please have patience and send your questions to ebay or my email at sobrien@charterfire.com. I'm not a moron so don't waste your time trying to scam me with too good to be true stories and outrageous lies. There is a lien on the car, after payment is received and funding is verified you can take possession of the vehicle and I will provide you with a bill of sale. I will pay off the remainder of the loan and have the title sent to you with urgency. The reserve is fair and I know I will not recoup my warranty cost and will lose some depreciation from original purchase price. Thank you for your interest.

2016 BMW M2 First Drive
Wed, Feb 17 2016Don't skip down to the conclusions, because I'll save you the trouble and spell it out for you right here. The 2016 BMW M2 is superb. Lay out your criteria for a contemporary sport coupe. Then check all the boxes. There are gripes. We've gotten good at uncovering the little issues in an age where the difference between the best and worst car in a class is smaller than ever. But they're that: little. It's a small price to pay for a vehicle that delivers so much more to the driver than the M235i – engagement, performance, pleasure – that it seems a bargain at $52,695 to start. Moreover, it's the right-sized M car we've wanted since the M4 burst its chrysalis and turned into an extra-large, if not overweight, butterfly. BMW had us out to Monterey to sample two M2s: a 7-speed DCT on Mazda Raceway Laguna Seca, and a six-speed manual on the fog-kissed Pacific Coast Highway. The formula here is old-school – thank heavens. It's a compact sport coupe with swollen wheel arches and a hot-rodded inline-six. The proportions are classic: longish hood, short rear deck, reasonably airy greenhouse in the tradition of sporting BMWs, and plenty of meat on the sticky tires. Long Beach Blue paint provides depth to the sheetmetal scalloping and contrast to the fender flares – and the M2 looked great in this bold color. I can't say the same for the less-exciting grey example parked in the hospitality tent. Like most modern turbocharged BMWs, the torque curve is fatter than an In-N-Out Double Double, Animal Style. The overall rightness of the proportions compensates for the more polarizing details. The dimples in the rear bumper, the "scoops" in the lower secondary air inlets, the obligatory fender vent (which is at least small). They're all intended to communicate aggressive sportiness, and succeed to varying degrees, but it's just jewelry. Inside, BMW's excised some of the cheapness that plagued the 2 Series' predecessors. The blue contrasting stitching looks great, the sport steering wheel is perfectly sized, and the carbon-fiber patterned accents at least provide a little texture to break up an unapologetically black interior. On the other hand, the door pulls are not only cheap-looking, but also so large they're impossible to ignore. It's a baffling misstep in an otherwise simple and classy interior. As a quick aside, the HUD is clear and functional – not a new feature for BMWs, but worth noting.
2015 BMW X6 keeps it weird
Thu, 02 Oct 2014Say what you will about the BMW X6 - odd and ugly as it may be, it's actually been sort of successful for the German automaker. BMW has now sold some 250,000 examples of the X6 since its launch, and the company's fastback-crossover-coupe-whatever-thing gets a host of meaningful updates for the 2015 model year while not straying from its original mission.
Aside from its revised styling, most noticeably set apart by its larger, X5-inspired headlamps, the biggest update for the US-spec X6 is the addition of a rear-wheel-drive model, the sDrive35i. This trim joins the all-wheel-drive xDrive35i and xDrive50i, and since you should all be capable of decoding BMW's weird naming structure by now, you know this means the X6 will be offered with a choice of 3.0-liter turbocharged six-cylinder and twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 engines. Fuel economy figures have not been released yet, but BMW says the new powertrains are more efficient than before, mated exclusively to an eight-speed automatic transmission regardless of cylinder count.
Look for the updated X6 to hit US showrooms this fall, following its debut this week in Paris. Expect pricing to be revealed closer to the model's on-sale date. Have a look below for all of the details.
Both BMW and Audi shutter vehicle subscription programs
Sat, Jan 16 2021Both BMW and Audi are either cancelling or pausing their respective vehicle subscription programs, Automotive News reports. This is yet another blow to what was once a growing and burgeoning group of automakers introducing pay-as-you-go vehicle subscription options in a number of cities across the U.S. Both Mercedes-Benz and Ford shut down their services last year, and Cadillac turned off the tap in 2018. BMW’s program — Access by BMW — was only ever offered in the Nashville area. A BMW spokesperson explained the companyÂ’s decision making to Automotive News. "Our intent with the pilot was to learn about the viability of the subscription model and gauge customer interest. We are in the process of developing the next iteration of the program,” he said. When that next iteration will arrive is still uncertain. Audi doesnÂ’t claim that a comeback is on the way. Instead, the companyÂ’s website simply says its services are ending on January 31 this year. Audi limited its subscription service to the Texas area throughout its whole campaign. CadillacÂ’s subscription service was promised a reboot a long time ago, and today is the first time weÂ’ve heard some rumbling. ANÂ’s report claims that Cadillac is testing a rebooted version of the service in a dealer pilot now. WeÂ’ve reached out to Cadillac to see if it can provide any further details. As of today, the official Book by Cadillac website says Cadillac “will be debuting a new program in early 2020.” ItÂ’s now early 2021, so Cadillac is officially a year late on its announcement. A number of OEM-run vehicle subscription services still exist (Porsche, Volvo, Lexus, Nissan), but instead of the market expanding, itÂ’s shrinking these days.
