Up for sale is a religiously maintained M3 from a BMW enthusiast. It is a 07/2008 built car. It is under BMW's Extended Maintainence Plan until the end of this year, a peace of mind for the next owner. In addition to that E9X M3s are the most reliable BMW M cars up to date.
What it has? Every option that was offered as of 07/2008. Premium Package: - Power folding mirrors - Universal Garage door opener - Digital Compass Mirror - Brushed Aluminum Trim - Black Novillo Leather - BMW Assist - Rear Park Distance Control - Moonroof - iPod & USB Adapter Technology Package: - Electronic Damping Control (Fantastic option, changes ride from comfortable to firm at the press of a button. Also automatically adapts to road & driving conditions) - M Drive (Change traction control, steering firmness, throttle response and more at the press of a button located on the steering wheel) - Comfort Access (Keyless entry & ignition; never need to take the key out of your pocket or bag) - Navigation System (Has the 2014 update) - Voice Activation (All system menus and dialing) - HD Radio - Real Time Traffic Information Cold Weather Package: - Fold down rear seats - Heated front seats - Retractable headlight washers Enhanced Premium Sound: - 16 upgraded speakers - 825 Watts Some notes from my end: - Newly installed Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires (With a warranty in case of an unexpected failure) - Rotors, pads, spark plugs and fluids are all recent (It is due for a brake fluid change covered under warranty, which I will take it in a few days and get that out of the way for the next owner) - Oil changes done at or before 5,000 mile mark with Castrol TWS 10w-60 oil. (BMW does this on a 15,000 mile interval, so I pay out of pocket in every 3 out of 2 oil changes for a peace of mind) - The exterior went through a full detail last summer - Leather wiped down once a month and conditioned with Leatherique every 6 months - New OEM floormats installed within last 500 miles - New battery - 240E factory engine software update (It is the latest software on these cars) - Never tracked or abused - No accident Modifications: - First, the headlights as you will notice in the photos. White LED Angel Eyes (not bulbs) were installed. Just to make it clear; these aren't just bulbs like the stock ones that gets washed away during daylight. These are LED rings that do not get washed away under the brightest day light - Second, I installed 5000K Osram Cool Blue Intense D1S bulbs to match the Angel Eyes. These are the most expensive bulbs in the market today and are being used as the OEM bulbs for BMW, Benz and Audi cars as of 2014. Brighter than stock xenon with 200 more lumens per side, while being pure white in color temperature at 5000K - Third and the last, the Euro DCT flash. Made a world of difference in everyday drivability (for me) To ensure the car doesn't get abused by joy riders and is in excellent condition for the person who buys it, test drives will be given only to serious buyers with a cashier's check in hand. Best regards, |

2016 Pebble Beach Concours d'Elegance: It's all in the details
Mon, Aug 22 2016It's no secret that Pebble Beach is an ode to gorgeous, and mostly, classic cars. The car show may be a place for automakers to showcase extremely expensive cars to wealthy buyers, but it's also one of the go-to places for enthusiasts that love automobiles and culture. While it's easy to be overwhelmed by the overall beauty of a car, the real magic often needs closer inspection to be realized. Every car at Pebble Beach is a work of art, but the true beauty of the vehicles lies in the details. And Autoblog's photographer, Drew Phillips, managed to capture the details on some gorgeous cars. From the Lamborghini Miura's exquisite steering wheel to Rolls-Royce's Spirit of Ecstasy, it's all at Pebble Beach. We think the details on some of the cars are prettier than the cars themselves, but don't take our word for it. Check out the beautiful gallery above and enjoy the tiny bits and pieces behind some of the prettiest cars in the world. BMW 6 Series Gran Coupe gets Bang & Olufsen Individual edition [w/video]
Tue, 10 Jun 2014Not content with a bit part on the options sheet, high-end sound gets a starring role on the BMW Individual 6 Series Gran Coupe Bang & Olufsen Edition. There's no technical difference between the 1,200-watt, 16-speaker High End Surround Sound System in this run of 6 Series Gran Coupes and the $3,700 system you can order as an option on the standard Gran Coupe, but the special edition gets brushed black aluminum finish speaker grilles, a first for the range.
The packages and colors are what set these apart, exteriors available in either Brilliant White Metallic or Dark Graphite II Metallic, interiors possible in either black or Opal White and black. You'll also get upgrades like the Cold Weather, M Sport Edition Packages on the non-M car, the Competition Package and Executive Package on the M, plus piano black wood trim, special floor mats and lots of B&O badging.
This isn't just a special edition, it's a limited edition, with BMW saying only 100 will be produced. Prices start at $116,240 for the 650i B&O Edition and top out at $152,423 for the M6 B&O Edition. There's a press release below with more details, and we've included a video on the stereo itself to help understand why it might deserve a car named after it.
Car subscription services: A slow, expensive start — but the potential is huge
Wed, Dec 26 2018Americans are used to paying for subscriptions — to magazines and cable television, for instance — but experience shows they'll cancel when the price of admission gets too high, or there are more tempting alternatives. Cord cutters ditched nearly 1.5 million pay-TV subscriptions in 2017, according to a survey by Leichtman Research Group. Cable TV started out cheap with basic offerings, and then got expensive. The auto industry's subscription offerings are new, but they're starting out costly, and not price-competitive with traditional leasing. The upside is that they take the hassle out of car ownership for busy people by letting the service take care of maintenance, insurance, licensing and taxes. And they give consumers choice, often allowing relatively painless switches between different cars in the automakers' lineup. Subscription services also point the way toward an ownership-free auto experience, and offer an easy transition to a potential world where ride- and car-sharing will be dominant. Subscriptions are here to stay, but consumers may take a while to "get" them. Lincoln's subscription service for lightly used 2015 to 2017 models, offered through the Ford-owned Canvas beginning this year, got off to a slow start. Many early subscribers canceled. Last month, Cadillac announced it would " temporarily pause" its $1,800-per-month Book subscription service for "adjustments" as of December 1. According to the Wall Street Journal, "Snags with the back-end technology used to support the service made some customer-service functions tedious and time-consuming, adding costs for the company." The challenge for automakers is to come up with a strategy that offers consumers a compelling, affordable option to regular ownership, and one that can also make a profit. I think they'll find that sweet spot, but they're not there yet. Jack Nerad, former executive editorial director at Kelley Blue Book and author of " The Complete Idiot's Guide to Buying or Leasing a Car," points out that "A lot of people expected that subscriptions would be very valuable for people who wanted inexpensive transportation, but the reality is quite the opposite. Subscriptions are offering more choices for the wealthy.
