due to the extended trunk handle and LED Tail Lights.
This is a turn key E46 M3. I have been collecting cars for years and it is tough to find another one as clean and
perfect as this one. I have service records, books, brochures, and (2) keys. You will be hard pressed to find
another E46 M3 as clean and immaculate as this one. This car looks and drives as good as it did when it rolled off
the assembly line, if not better. I would rate the Interior a 9.5/10 the seats are in excellent condition, the
bolsters do not have any wear on them, all functions work and operate on the M seats as they should. This car also
has the adjustable seat width lumbar. I've owned over 32 E46 M3's and this is the second one I have owned that had
this feature. The Front dash is very clean no cracks, the Rear seats have never been sat in, and Rear deck-lid has
no sun damage. The Exterior of the car is a solid 9.5/10 the front bumper grill has minor stone marks from driving,
the rear rockers near the wheels have minor stone marks from driving. Front bumper has not been drilled for license
plate, the lip spoiler on the back is all factory and original. The paint is smooth and looks excellent under the
sun, freshly buffed and always waxed with Zymol. The color looks very vibrant and sharp with the 19" Polished M
wheels. The wheels are curb and rash free, tires & brakes have only 3K miles on them.
Under the hood the car features the revolutionary S54 Power Plant (3.2L 333HP). These engines have been noted to be
one of the best M engines produced by BMW M GmbH. The E46 M3 in the early 2000's was known to be the car out
performing every car in its class and is one of the most recognized M cars in the market place today. Whether you
are buying this for yourself or your son/daughter, this M3 is a true gem. This car is all original and stock, it
has never been modified. Tasteful improvements have been made to the sound system by Alpine, which have been
professionally and tastefully installed maintaining full use of trunk without adding excess weight. Combined with
Touch Screen Digital Display and 60GB I-pod. Recent Oil Service has been performed at BMW using Castrol GTX 10W60.
New set of floor Mats have been installed for the next owner. All Fluids have been flushed and refilled.
No expense has been spared to properly store, maintain and address all preventative maintenance on this M3. I do
not need to sell this car and would prefer to keep it, but if this M3 goes to the right home I will be happy. This
is a true collectable as these cars age it is very difficult to find another one with such exceptional service
history, records, and condition. Age, mileage and condition is the largest contributing factor to this car along
with all original keys, window sticker, books, and records, which are included with this sale.

BMW has the first smart emergency system for motorcycles
Tue, May 3 2016While cars and trucks have long had smart emergency systems to send help in the event of a crash (think services like OnStar), motorcycles have had to go without -- a scary thought if you've ever worried about wiping out miles away from help. That's where BMW might just save the day, though. It's introducing the first smart emergency tech for motorbikes, Intelligent Emergency Call, to give the two-wheel crowd a proper safety net. You can trigger it yourself, such as when you need to help a fellow motorist, but the real magic comes with its automatic responses. IEC's acceleration and lean angle sensors can not only tell if your bike falls or crashes, but time the call for help based on severity. A bad accident will call for help immediately, for instance, while a gentler incident provides a delay so that you can cancel the call. If things are dire enough for that call to go out, it'll send your ride's position at the same time. Don't expect to see this system in North America, at least not any time soon. IEC will first launch in Germany sometime in early 2017, and it'll spread to other European countries soon afterward. There's no mention of availability in other countries, unfortunately. However, you may well see equipment like this become widespread among bike makers eager to one-up the competition.Related Video: This article by Jon Fingas originally ran on Engadget, the definitive guide to this connected life. Is the skill of rev matching being lost to computers?
Fri, Oct 9 2015If the ability to drive a vehicle equipped with a manual gearbox is becoming a lost art, then the skill of being able to match revs on downshifts is the stuff they would teach at the automotive equivalent of the Shaolin Temple. The usefulness of rev matching in street driving is limited most of the time – aside from sounding cool and impressing your friends. But out on a race track or the occasional fast, windy road, its benefits are abundantly clear. While in motion, the engine speed and wheel speed of a vehicle with a manual transmission are kept in sync when the clutch is engaged (i.e. when the clutch pedal is not being pressed down). However, when changing gear, that mechanical link is severed briefly, and the synchronization between the motor and wheels is broken. When upshifting during acceleration, this isn't much of an issue, as there's typically not a huge disparity between engine speed and wheel speed as a car accelerates. Rev-matching downshifts is the stuff they would teach at the automotive equivalent of the Shaolin Temple. But when slowing down and downshifting – as you might do when approaching a corner at a high rate of speed – that gap of time caused by the disengagement of the clutch from the engine causes the revs to drop. Without bringing up the revs somehow to help the engine speed match the wheel speed in the gear you're about to use, you'll typically get a sudden jolt when re-engaging the clutch as physics brings everything back into sync. That jolt can be a big problem when you're moving along swiftly, causing instability or even a loss of traction, particularly in rear-wheel-drive cars. So the point of rev matching is to blip the throttle simultaneously as you downshift gears in order to bring the engine speed to a closer match with the wheel speed before you re-engage the clutch in that lower gear, in turn providing a much smoother downshift. When braking is thrown in, you get heel-toe downshifting, which involves some dexterity to use all three pedals at the same time with just two feet – clutch in, slow the car while revving, clutch out. However, even if you're aware of heel-toe technique and the basic elements of how to perform a rev match, perfecting it to the point of making it useful can be difficult.
Ken Block and friends race light in silly-beautiful Castrol commercial
Wed, 28 May 2014How does one make fast, loud, drifting cars better? Well, you can add more fast, loud, drifting cars or you can add lasers. Either or, really. In this case, Castrol did the right thing and added both, creating a highly stylized commercial for its Edge Titanium motor oil starring South African racer Adrian Zaugg, BMW factory driver Augusto Farfus, Audi DTM and Le Mans staple Mike Rockenfeller and some bloke named Ken Block.
Their cars? No surprise, but Block is in his Ford Fiesta GRC, while Zaugg samples a Lamborghini Aventador and Farfus and Rockenfeller drive along party lines, with a BMW M4 and an Audi R8, respectively. And those cars look good, too, thanks to the creative light and laser work on display.
Take a look below for the video from Castrol.
