Up for auction is a very Rare, Low Mileage, Dinan Supercharged M3 convertible. It is Dakar yellow and is absolutely one nicest E36 M3 convertible's I have ever seen. It has been driven sparingly and always well maintained. It was originally sold in Houston, TX. It spent its entire life in Texas as part of an expansive private collection. It was just recently acquired here in Arizona late in 2013. It's in overall Excellent condition cosmetically and Mechanically. This M3 would make a great daily driver or weekend cruiser! The exterior of this M3 is in excellent condition. The Dakar Yellow paint is absolutely stunning, and in excellent condition. This M3 is Carfax certified to have never been in an accident. The body is great shape, and there are no major dents or dings. The front of this car has almost no rock chipping. All of the trim and lights still look like new. The car looks just as nice as the pictures show! The interior
is in excellent condition as well. The Black Leather seats are soft and supple.
There are no tears, rips, or deep wear lines anywhere. The carpet is in great
condition as well as the original M3 floor mats. The door panels, trim panels
and dashboard are all very nice and have no cracks. The soft top is in great
shape with no rips or tears, and a brand new BMW rear window was installed. The
power top works great! All of the electrical equipment in the car works as it
should (Windows, locks, sun roof, stereo, OBC, lights, etc). The A/C blows cold. The trunk compartment is
in very nice shape. All of the original tools and spare tire are there! The optional BMW wind blocker is also included and very expensive from the dealer. Overall the cosmetic condition of the car is excellent. You would never know this car is 16 years old!
This M3 is in excellent mechanical condition. We have inspected and test driven the vehicle over 100 miles and have found no major mechanical problems. The engine starts right up and runs very strong. The transmission shifts smooth. The car does not leak anything. This M3 runs and drives like it should for having only 57k miles! The tires are newer Michelin Pilots. The tires have plenty of tread left. The front and rear brakes have lots of pad left. This M3 is equipped with a Vortech V2SQ Supercharger that is DINAN tuned. The DINAN Vortech V2SQ superchager kit is widely recognized as the best supercharger kit that was available for the E36 M3. It had MSRP of $6500 plus tax from Dinan's official website, and was guaranteed to add at least 80 horsepower just by the kit itself. I can tell you, it adds a lot of power to this car and sounds great with the DINAN exhaust. Not only will the beautiful Dakar Yellow paint set this car apart from other E36 M3's, but this kit will impress any BMW enthusiast.

BMW introducing i8 to US with Hello Future Olympics ad
Fri, Feb 7 2014It's not all unfinished hotel rooms and unconventional toilet situations at the Sochi 2014 Olympic Winter Games. During the broadcast of the opening ceremony tonight, BMW is going to introduce the American TV audience to its plug-in i brand of vehicles. Of course, since we have things like Twitter and YouTube (which the Russian hosts might not be too happy about), you can already see the first spot below. BMW is going all-in on its Olympics ads, saying the campaign is the company's "largest media investment of the year." The first ad, called Hello Future, sets the words of science fiction author Arthur C. Clarke to an array of futuristic cityscape visuals before flashing the i8 onto the screen. Two other spots – called SHHH and Sightings – will also debut during the Games. Those have not yet been placed online, but BMW says that Sightings is about people "trying to describe something they have never seen before; something remarkable and other-worldly" (i.e., the plug-in i8). SHHH, on the other hand, is a short romance, about a "boy who sneaks out in his dad's quiet and all-electric BMW i3 as he tries to impress his dream-girl with the ultimate joyride. In the end, the joyride helps him win the girl." There's a twist, of course, which you can read about in the press release below or just wait until it appears on screen, trying to break through the banal advertising landscape, over the next few weeks. BMW has other connections to the Sochi Olympics as well, including designing the two-man bobsled used by the US Olympic team. There's a contest running regarding that project over on BMWTimeTracker. The 60-second spot harkens back to the pair's bewilderment over the Internet way back in 1994, before cutting to the revolutionary electric Bimmer, which elicits a similarly perplexed reaction. It's a clever spot for BMW, tying its perhaps misunderstood EV to another formerly unfamiliar piece of tech. The teasers hadn't come out yet, but manufacturers lined up for the super-expensive spots were making their intentions known. This year? Almost nada, until this week. BMW has said it will air a 60-second spot promoting the i3 during the first quarter of the game, the Munich firm returning to The Big Game after a four-year absence. BMW says, "Big ideas like the BMW i3 take a little getting used to, and the creative idea surrounding our spot will play on this analogy." We say that pitching a tiny range-extended hatchback during the beer-iest American sports orgy of the year should make for some neat commentary afterward. Lexus is putting its new NX crossover in the second Super Bowl commercial it's ever aired, eschewing the glitter of celebrities and glamor for a straight-shooting spot and the tagline, "Be seen, be heard, make some noise." Joining those two are Kia, Mercedes-Benz, Nissan and Toyota. The six confirmed carmakers are down from eleven last year, when car spots made up a quarter of the total ad time. The price to do business for 30 seconds this year: reportedly around $4.5 million, up a stacks from last year's $4 million.
