At some point in the cars life the right side was repainted and the clear coat is peeling . the car hasn't been in any accidents and all body panels have the original vin tag on them except the front bumper which i replaced due to a crack that was too big to be repaired successfuly.  the interior is in good shape.car is equipped with non power vader seats that have the normal wear and tear on them no rips though. the headliner is sagging and will need recovering . all the electronics do work as they should. the ac is ice cold , the radio is a new alpine cda 113 and works well, mfa and cruise control is good as well . mechanically the car runs and drives very well . the car has a uuc stage 3 lightweight flywheel and m5 clutch init swell as a uuc evo 3 short shifter wit dssr rod all with under 3k miles on them . the car has a new cooling system including new radiator , hoses , water pump ,thermostat and housing . all fluids have been replaced with bmw spec fluids . the car does have a small exhaust leak from the rear muffler gaskets and does have a rattle from a defective throw out bearing ( new one included with car ). ac fan makes noise . i have a lot of time and money invested in this car but its time to go as I've lost interest in her . i have some spare parts that go with her including extra wheels and rear seats . please call me with any questions and concerns tony 203 428 8754

Are you the next BMW X5?

Tue, 15 Jan 2013

Who knew that diecast model makers could be such a good source of leaks? Less than a month after a diecast model 2014 Mercedes-Benz CLA in China, someone overseas at Diecast Empire or Jadi Modelcraft could get a bath in boiling oil for leaking uncamouflaged images of the next-generation BMW X5.
Naturally, that assumes that this image from a brochure from a Jadi brochure is indeed the F15 BMW X5 - it was posted to Diecast Empire's Facebook page. In its favor, the lines all add up if we compare it to the most revealing spy shots we have of the coming crossover - the headlight corners, the metal trim separating the kidney grille from the opening just above the license plate, the cut of the swage line, and the fact that the model picture reveals all of the most important character pieces that BMW has kept covered.
There's something written on the door of the model image that isn't in the spy shots, but that could be an xDrive badge. We will see the genuine article soon enough and we'll know for sure. For now, we might have already seen its facsimile in miniature.

BMW recalling a grand total of three X3s over instrument panel defect

Wed, 18 Dec 2013

We've seen big recalls and we've seen small ones. Some involve millions of vehicles, and some - like the Infiniti Q50 recall on which we reported just the other day - involve just a couple dozen. But this has to be the smallest recall we've seen yet.
"Due to a production process error" in the BMW X3, states the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration in the notice below, "the team seam on the instrument panel was not manufactured correctly." Big friggin' whoop, you say? Well, NHTSA points out that it could hinder the deployment of the airbag and send fractures flying everywhere.
The problem was discovered in a select few examples of the 2013 BMW X3 - both xDrive 28i and 35i models - manufactured in the later part of February this year. And by "select few," we literally mean a few - as in three. Three examples are being recalled. If you happen to be one of those three owners, expect to hear from your local dealership.

Europe's BMW 1 Series hatch caught looking fresh faced

Sat, 23 Aug 2014

Hey, remember the BMW 1 Series? Yes, German brand's successors to the US-market coupe and convertible have one-upped the old car to wear the 2 Series designation now, but in other markets, our No. 1 crush still lives on, and as evidenced in these spy shots, the entry-level hatch appears to be undergoing a modest facelift.
We've spotted prototypes of the refreshed 1 Series before, with the majority of the car's changes focused around the front fascia. This time around, we're seeing the three-door variant, with wheels seemingly fitting of a Sport or even M Sport trim.
Of course, this One's not for US, as the small BMW isn't slated to come to our market anytime soon. Click through the gallery above to see what we're missing.
