-1995 BMW M3-
3.0L OBD1 w/5 spd manual
The Good:
Black Vader seats in excellent condition, sunroof, cd, A/C, power windows, everything works.
It has Koni adjustable shocks on all four corners.
It has been fitted with 255's in the rear and 225's in the front on E46 M3 wheels.(Stock 95 M3's came with 235's on all four) The rear fenders have been rolled to fit the tires, and I have had adjustable rear control arms installed to correct the stance. It looks great.
I also rebuilt the VANOS system using the Dr. Vanos kit recently.
The not so good, but not bad:
The brake pad wear indicator light is on, I cant figure out why, and I don't really care. Pads are fine.
The heater core may be about to leak, I can smell coolant occasionally through heater vents. No overheating problems, no coolant leaks as of yet.
Power steering pump has a slow leak, but still works.
The Carfax shows a fender bender, but I have never been able to find any damage other than a scuffed front clip. Other than that the car is beautiful, and drives great.
I looked for a long time to find this car. It is in great shape for an 18 yr old car. It is very tight, no wobbles, no funny noises. My plan was to do an LS1 swap, and I wanted to start with a good platform, however I just can't bring myself to tear a perfectly good drivetrain out of this car.
This car is for sale locally, so I reserve the right to end the auction early. I will not ship the vehicle anywhere, so don't ask. I will not cash checks for foreign princes or anybody else. I am going to require a $500 deposit via Paypal, and the rest in cash when the vehicle is picked up.

Alex Zanardi back in the driver's seat with BMW
Tue, 21 Jan 2014If there's ever been an inspirational story in the pantheon of motor racing history, surely it's that of Alessandro Zanardi. The Italian driver worked his way up the motor racing ladder, making it into Formula One and winning two CART championships for Chip Ganassi Racing back before the series re-merged into IndyCars. Tragedy struck in 2001 when he lost both his legs in a crash at the Lausitzring in Germany, but rather than accept his fate, Alex pushed on. Fitted with prosthetic limbs, he learned to drive a racing car with hand controls and got back in the driver's seat.
Zanardi drove for BMW in the European Touring Car Championship and then in the World Touring Car Championship that replaced it, landing on the podium several times despite his physical disadvantage. He left racing in 2009 to train for the Paralympics, winning two gold medals in London, but Alex apparently couldn't shake the racing bug. BMW modified one of its M3 DTM racers with hand controls for him to test later that year. And now he's returning to motor racing full time.
BMW has just announced that Zanardi will be driving a Z4 GT3 in the Blancpain Sprint Series, the successor to the FIA GT Series and short-distance counterpart to the Blancpain Endurance Series. The car has been modified with the hand controls the Bavarian automaker's racing department fitted to the aforementioned M3 DTM and will be fielded by the ROAL Motorsport team with which Alex challenged for the European Touring Car Championship last decade.
BMW expands Takata airbag recall nationwide, 140k 3 Series affected
Tue, Dec 23 2014Following the urging of the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, BMW has expanded its recall of vehicles equipped with Takata airbag inflators to cover the entirety of the United States, rather than just high-humidity areas. That means there are about 140,000 owners of 2004 to 2006 model year BMW 3 Series coupes, convertibles, sedans and wagons (that means owners of both E46 and E90 3ers should take note). It's unclear if this recall includes the high-performance M3 Coupe and Convertible. With the expansion of its airbag recall, BMW joins Honda, Mazda, Ford and Fiat Chrysler in moving from a regional to a nationwide recall of vehicles equipped with Takata airbags. According to Reuters, BMW claims none of its vehicles have been subject to the potentially harmful airbag deployments.
BMW planning X4 M Performance diesel? [w/poll]
Wed, 04 Dec 2013With the arrival of the new X4 in March, BMW will expand its crossover portfolio by one more model. But while some enthusiasts may have been disappointed by the news that the Bavarian automaker isn't likely to authorize an M version of the compact slantback crossover, this latest development could help bridge the gap.
Although the line used to be quite clear between standard BMWs and M models, Munich has been blurring it with the M Performance treatment. Those have included models like the M135i hatchback and M235i coupe, the diesel-powered M550d sedan and wagon and X5 and X6 M50d crossovers. Now word has it that BMW could follow a similar formula with the X4, creating a sub-M performance model.
What's more is that the X4 M Performance model could go diesel, following a similar formula that Audi undertook with its first performance crossover, the SQ5 TDI. The major difference here is that when Audi brought the SQ5 to these shores, it ditched the diesel for a gasoline engine. Could BMW do the same?
