Clean Title, Heavily Modified and Finely Tuned.  I have the CARFAX also.  To answer the first question on everyone's mind, I am posting this because it is becoming impractical for me and my family to have it.  My family is growing, I need a four door vehicle or a house with more garage space.  Since the later is less realistic for me, the car can be replaced for something the whole family can use.  This car has been a joy to build and use.  I've owned it for about 6 years and have clocked less than 6,000 miles per year on it.  It has been babied.  Any little tick or sound has been remedied and fixed about the moment I notice it.  I have documents and receipts totalling over $27,000 in repairs and modifications not including what I paid to buy the car.  I'm sure there are several hundreds of dollars more I don't have receipts for repairs and modifications.  Repairs were to replace worn out parts, like the alternator and water pump, and modifications are a plenty.  I bought this car from my best friend who needed the money at the time.  Besides the engine swap, I did the rest of the modifications.
The only thing that is left original on this car, basically, is the drivetrain and disc brakes.

Here is a list of the changes made to this car from stock:

The car remains
OBD I
3.0 motor replaced with a new 3.2 liter motor at 111,246 miles

Chrome 17" BMW M wheels with 2 Michelin Primacy Alpin 225/45r17 snow tires, 65%, and 2 Bridgestone Blizzak LM-50 225/45r17 snow tires, 75%.
Gorilla lugnuts guaranteed to never rust or break

There are most likely parts i've missed listing, but the major stuff is there.  I have tons of extra parts too.  The A/C blows cold and everything works.  I have a sub-box and amp in the trunk too.  The little computer in the center console had some pixels not working so I just unplugged it.  From what you could read, it worked just fine, it just annoyed me.  There are some paint blemishes on the front from regular driving on the crappy Utah roads, tiny rocks and stuff are unforgiving.  There is also a crack in the LF headlight casing and bumper cover in the center area.  There are minor scratches here and there, but barely noticable.  I tried taking pictures of them, but they just don't show up well enough, that is how minor they are.

This baby dynoed at 302 rear wheel horsepower at 6 psi of boost.  I'm sure if you drove it down to sea level it would dyno around 375 rear wheel horsepower and be pushing around 9 psi.  I have a group of friends with a similar setup on their M3's and they are at sea level and that is what their power and boost levels are at.  She is a sleeper for sure.  I pass the emissions tailpipe sniffer and inpection every year with flying colors.  This car is fully street legal and safe with a CLEAN title.  I drove it to work and back for the last 6 years which is why you will only see about 5-6,000 miles per year on it.  My bride hates driving the clutch and we hate packing the family in the smallness of it when we take it out.  Like I said before, it is impractical for me and my family.

I am looking for the right buyer.  I have it listed locally (and reserve the right to end the listing early).

The car is genuinely for sale and I am not up a creek if it doesn't sell so, p
lease, no low ball offers and if you come to see it, no joy rides.  I respectfully ask for serious interest only.  Obviously nobody can buy this car with a conventional auto loan, you'll need more than that.  Thank you for reading this far.  Please email me with ANY questions before you bid or offer.  I will be happy to talk over the phone too, just email me if you're interested.  The car is sold AS-IS with no warranty expressed or implied.  I'll only accept cash or a cashiers check from a reputable bank or credit union.  Once payment has cleared I will give up possession of the car.

Is the BMW i8 actually already sold out?

Mon, 02 Dec 2013

The other day we brought you a report from Reuters, which quoted BMW's global sales chief Ian Robertson as saying that the Bavarian automaker had already sold out the entire year's production run of its new i8. Impressive, sure, but perhaps not all that unusual for a groundbreaking new sportscar from a major automaker, of which only limited quantities are typically built. But is the i8 really sold out?
Our compatriots at Car and Driver chased down the story and report that Robertson's claims aren't exactly accurate. According to C/D, the numbers are based on sales projections, not actual orders taken. So while BMW may build upwards of 1,900 i8 coupes next year and over 5,000 in 2015, and while they're all expected to sell, that doesn't mean that it's too late to get your order in. That is, assuming you have the $135k on hand and don't mind getting just three cylinders back in return.

Recharge Wrap-up: BMW, Nissan team up on chargers, CNN loves Tesla Model X

Tue, Dec 22 2015

CNN Money calls the Tesla Model X "the new king of crossover SUVs." In its round-up of its favorite luxury SUVs of 2015, CNN places the electric ute on the top of its list. The Model X's EV powertrain, excellent acceleration and handling and cool design and technology features (including much attention paid to its slick Falcon Wing doors) earn it high praise. See the video above, and read more at CNN Money or from Clean Technica. Tesla has plans to open offices in Korea and South Africa. Tesla has registered in Korea as Tesla Korea Limited under co-CEOs Todd Maron (Tesla general council) and Susan Repo (Tesla Financial Services). It will have an office near Seoul. Tesla is also reportedly opening an office in South Africa in January, with GreenCape CEO Evan Rice acting as Business Development Manager. Rice will work to build a market for Tesla's PowerPack stationary energy storage systems. Read more from Korea Times, from htxt and from Teslarati. BMW and Nissan are partnering to build 120 new fast charging stations in the US. The public, 50-kW DC chargers, operating on the Greenlots charging network, will be deployed in 19 states in order to support Nissan Leaf and BMW i3 drivers, and to help promote EV adoption in the US. The chargers will support both CHAdeMO and SAE Combo charging. "Together with Nissan, we are focused on facilitating longer distance travel so that even more drivers will choose to experience the convenience of e-mobility for themselves," says BMW's Manager of Connected eMobility, Cliff Fietzek. Kia also recently partnered with Greenlots to provide charging for Soul EV drivers. Read more in the press release below. BMW AND NISSAN PARTNER TO DEPLOY DUAL FAST CHARGERS ACROSS THE U.S. TO BENEFIT ELECTRIC VEHICLE DRIVERS • A total of 120 dual-port 50kW DC Fast-charging stations have been installed across 19 states to support longer distance electric vehicle travel for Nissan LEAF and BMW i3 drivers. • These publicly available Greenlots-networked charging stations include both CHAdeMO and CCS (Combo) connectors, suitable for all DC Fast charging-capable electric vehicles in the U.S. WOODCLIFF LAKE, NJ and NASHVILLE, TN - December 21, 2015... BMW and Nissan are joining forces to offer public DC Fast charging at 120 locations across 19 states in an effort to support Nissan LEAF and BMW i3 customers and to promote increased adoption of electric vehicles (EVs) nationwide.

BMW working on 'FAST' CUV to slot between X1 and 2 Series

Thu, 10 Jul 2014

Our spy shooters have caught a new FAST BMW testing that's rumored to hit the market in late 2015. Sadly, the word fast in that last sentence isn't describing the car's performance; instead it's an acronym that stands for Family Active Sports Tourer. Talk about a case of false advertising.
Despite it's speedy name, the FAST doesn't look ready to set any Nürburgring lap records. It rides on BMW's modular, front-wheel drive UKL platform that underpins the current generation Mini Cooper, upcoming 2 Series Active Tourer and next X1. According to our spies, its design is supposed to blend the looks of a wagon and a CUV on the outside with a large, useful interior. Conceivably, it could be offered with the hybrid system from the 2 Series, as well.
The new prototype definitely shares the styling of its front-wheel-drive BMW siblings. Up to the A-pillar, it looks pretty similar to what we know about the future X1. But the FAST has a more arched profile and lower ride height compared to the crossover's chunkier, more conventional design.
