E30 M3 Race Car - New Build - VIN - WBSAK0304J2195402
History - Car was purchased out of Arizonia about 2 years ago with a cage installed. All running gear was out of the car. The body was sent to the body shop for fresh exterior and interior painting while the motor, trans, and diff rebuilt/replaced. All bushing were removed and replaced with new. Rear sub frame was removed and weld in inserts for camber/castor adjustments were installed. After painting the engine, trans, and diff were reinstalled. A custom chip was mapped with 93 octane fuel. Existing barn door AFM was utilized as was thinking of going into BMW M3T class. The car has been taken out for (2) shake down days and ran very well. Had solid engine and tranny mounts and switched back to the hard bushings (less vibration thru the chassis). The car hooks up in turns better than any car that I have driven. The differential is awesome and comes with finned Z3 cover. The car has safety switch cutoff and push buttons start. Lots of gauges for feedback on the track - oil temp, water temp, oil pressure, and Air/Fuel Meter. The items remaining for final race readiness are the installing the replacing the window net and center net and roll bar padding. The car has tons of high performance parts and would be a front runner. Please let me know if there are any questions.
Recent improvements -
- New paint - interior and exterior
- Kosei wheels with basically new continential race rubber (2 heat cycles)
- New brake pads/rotors - Carbotech, great modulation
- All new fluids - oil, Redline trans oil, and Red Line diff oil. Brakes need to be bled with new ATE.
- Full roll cage (similar to DTM style cage), Very Safe and very well constructed.
- New engine with less than 4 hours, 11:1 pistons, head completely rebuilt with Evo springs, 284/276 cams
- Custom ECU chip - Close to 200 hp (rwhp)
- New wheels bearings all around
- JB aluminum flywheel with puck style clutch
- VAC race megasump oilpan
- New Blanton 5 speed race transmission with close ration gearing including Z3 short shift shifter
- Recently rebuilt Blanton 3.91 race diff with finned Z3 cooler
- Fire suppression system (2 head - engine and compartment)
- Race gauges with AFM, adjustable shift light and low oil pressure sensor, stock fuel tank, electrical shut off.
- Manual BMW motorsports MS quick ratio steering rack
- New coolant hoses and heater core bypass
- Ground Control Advance design double adjustable suspension, adjustable sway bars, new bushings, solid rear subframe with 3mm adjustment, weld in rear camber/castor in rear subframe
- All brakes completely rebuilt, ABS still installed.
- Car has been corner balanced and aligned.
- Weight is around 2400 w/o driver.
Build recently completed after (2) years of assembling parts and getting work professionally performed. Engine rebuilt by The Power Plant Racing. As it has not been raced during my ownership and after build, the car will need a log book, center, window nets installed, and roll bar padding. Front and rear lexan windows are not perfect and have some scratches. Side lexan windows are brand new. Front has some slight cracking of the lexan around the curve.
Comes with (1) sets of 15"x8" kosei wheels and (1) 16" revolution wheels with full tread tires for rain. This car is very fast and handles great. I would estimate that this car that with new rubber would run sub 2:14s at VIR full coure.
Please let me know if there are any questions. Thanks for looking!

American motorcycle brands most satisfying, Japanese most reliable, says Consumer Reports
Fri, Apr 10 2015Consumer Reports started tracking motorcycle reliability last year through its regular reader survey, just like the magazine's well-known auto guide. For the 2015 edition, CR now has data on over 12,300 bikes, compared to 4,680 in 2014, and the extra info means it can include more brands, like Suzuki, Triumph and Can-Am, to the list. However, the final results remain largely the same. As with last year, Japanese bikes are the best choice for buyers who prioritize reliability. Yamaha comes out on top yet again and is followed by Suzuki, Kawasaki and Honda. Victory and Harley-Davidson hold the middle of the list, and the European cycles from Triumph, Ducati and BMW sit at the bottom. The major outlier in this regional distinction is the Can-Am Spyder from Canada's Bombardier Recreational Products that comes in dead last in the dependability survey. Still, even the most dependable model is occasionally going to break, and the average repair bill across all brands is $342, according to CR's readers. Kawasakis are the cheapest to keep on the road at a median of $269 for fixes, versus BMW as the most expensive at $455. Through all of the companies, electrical gremlins are the most common issue, causing 24 percent of problems, but faults with the cooling system, pistons or transmission are the smallest concerns at 4 percent each. While Japanese cycles might be the easiest to keep on the road, they aren't the most beloved by riders. In CR's gauge of satisfaction, the Americans reign supreme. Victory owners love their bikes the most with 80 percent reporting that they would buy another. Harley riders are known for having a close bond to the company's models, and the brand comes in second with 72 percent. Finally, Honda rounds out the top three at 70 percent. Head over to Consumer Reports to see more results. News Source: Consumer ReportsImage Credit: Toby Brusseau / AP Photo BMW Honda Suzuki Motorcycle Ducati bike victory
1972 BMW 1602e EV concept looks glorious
Wed, Mar 25 2015Pretty sweet. That's a first impression of one cherry-looking experimental electric vehicle from BMW from way back in the day. Or at least from someone who for a time drove a '74 2002. A gas-powered one, that is. BMW built two experimental vehicles in 1972 based off of the old 1600 (which evolved into the 2002) model and even showed them off during the Munich Olympic Games of that year. BMW strung together a dozen typical car batteries and linked them to an electric motor made by Bosch. The result was a battery pack that weighed about 770 pounds (A quick modern-day comparison: a Nissan Leaf battery pack weighs about 480 pounds). Bimmer recently posted a two-and-a-half minute video about the project. The clip doesn't say how far those cars could go on a single charge, but did use to the vehicles to "escort" long-distance running competitions at the Munich Games, since there was no exhaust to choke those athletes out. The timing is fortuitous, of course, as the German automaker looks to continue to gain more goodwill from the green-car set through its new "i" sub-brand of plug-in vehicles, including the i3 electric vehicle and the i8 plug-in hybrid. China’s Great Wall looking to partner with BMW to sell cars in the West
Fri, Oct 13 2017The Chinese automaker Great Wall seems to have moved on from courting Fiat Chrysler. According to Reuters, the company announced in a stock exchange filing that it's looking to collaborate with BMW's Mini brand in some way. Reuters also reports that BMW is open to discussion. We reached out to a BMW representative, and he provided us with an official statement regarding the news. The company didn't specifically say it is talking with Great Wall. What it did say is that it has had success with its current partnership with another Chinese automaker Brilliance, but also that the company is interested in expanding the Mini brand worldwide and in China. The statement says that Mini's future strategy and expansion will include "diversification of partnerships and new cooperation models." It also said that expanding in China "is only possible with a local partner." That sounds to us like BMW is pretty interested in working with Great Wall. This move comes about a month and a half after Great Wall attempted to purchase parts of Fiat Chrysler. The company was reported to be talking to FCA to purchase the Jeep brand, and it later confirmed that it was interested in that brand, a few, or the whole company. But things seemed to fall apart when Fiat Chrysler's CEO Sergio Marchionne announced it hadn't received any offers and wasn't working on any kind of deal with another company. Now it may seem a little odd that Great Wall would shift from trying to buy an SUV brand, or a company that is beginning to concentrate on crossovers and trucks, to one that specializes in compact cars. After all, they're fairly different segments. Our theory is that Great Wall isn't necessarily interested in the specific products, but more that it's looking for a gateway to Western car markets. It's not something new for the company. As far back as 2013, the company made it clear it was looking to start selling cars in America. It also started looking into a manufacturing facility in Mexico earlier this year, which would supposedly supply vehicles to both Mexico and the U.S. Now when Great Wall announced its American sales intentions, it was targeting a date of 2015. That obviously didn't happen, and it probably has something to do with the company's products. Most of the cars under the Great Wall and Haval brands bear an uncanny appearance to discontinued models from other companies that compete in the West.
