2006 Bmw Z4 M Roadster Convertible 2-door 3.2l In Pristine Condition on 2040-cars
Sandy, Utah, United States
Since you are searching for M Roadsters on Ebay, I assume you are aware of this vehicle's pedigree--its famous 330 horsepower 3.2L acceleration, its short-shift six-speed transmission, its razor-sharp suspension, its throaty purr or it's terrifyingly effective 4-wheel slotted disc brakes. I won't bore you by detailing the car's specifications because you already know this car and you know what you want. You want the pure joy of a premium open-air wind-in-your-face thrill ride on wheels, and you have many roadsters to choose from. I won't badmouth somebody else's vehicle here--these roadsters are incredibly well built machines and you would likely be thrilled with any one of them. Still, you have to ask yourself; Which one do I choose? I am a car nut. In the last 10 years I have owned a 2002 Mini S, a 2005 Honda S2000, a 2006 Nissan 350Z, a 2002 M Roadster (the Z3 body) and a 1984 Porsche 911 whale tail, all of them exceptional in their own way and every one of them in terrific condition. None of them, however, were as quick, better looking, powerful, cleaner or refined as this 2006 M Roadster. I searched for more than a year before I found this one, and I bought it after considering several other M's. I bought it because I am faastidious about vehicle condition, and that is the only reason you will buy my car instead of somebody else's. The paint is nearly flawless; there are no dents or dings on the car. There are no scuffs beneath the front spoiler or cracks in the underbody ABS. The 19" wheels and tires have less than 800 miles on them and are in absolutely perfect condition. (Two of the previous smaller wheels had minor curb rash, so I replaced all of them). I also added two billet spacers to the rear wheels, offsetting them by approximately 1 3/4 inches. The spacers reduce oversteer, but I am more impressed with how they shape the back end. There isn't a single chip, crack or discoloration in any of the original windows. There are no tears, thinning or discolorations in the interior leather, including the thick leather steering wheel, heavily bolstered seats or shifter. No one has smoked in this car. I encourage (and expect) you to walk or crawl around the car until you find the slightest blemish in the paint. You will, eventually, because it's a used car, but it is as close to showroom condition as any car being offered for sale on this site or any other. Every switch, dial, knob or control works perfectly. There are zero hidden defects. Full disclosure: Since I have owned the vehicle (one year), I have put less than 2,000 miles on it. Still, I have replaced the engine oil twice, I have replaced the stainless steel head bolt caps (they were faded in color), I have replaced the gas tank leak detection pump, purchased the wheels, tires and spacers, had the car safety checked/emissions tested and purchased a new 960 amp battery (because the original battery was 8 years old) and purchased a car cover. The roadster is garaged and covered. The people at Kelly Blue Book claim that a 2006 M Roadster like mine--with 25,000 miles in excellent condition with every conceivable option--is worth $31,730, and that price does NOT include what I paid for the wheels, tires and spacers. I will use the KBB price as my "Buy it Now" price but I will consider lesser offers. Please bid with confidence. I love talking cars, so please feel free to call, text or email me with your questions about my roadster. Depending on your location, I may be able to deliver the car. Mike 801.891.1938 |

BMW i8 added to exotic Dubai police fleet
Thu, Mar 12 2015Apparently the Dubai Police is ready to start expanding its vast collection of exotic cars yet again. After taking a little while off from new purchases, the cops there recently added a Lexus RC F to the stable, and now the force has gone green – well, kind of. The latest high-performance vehicle to wear the green and white livery is a BMW i8. While the video above isn't in English, the clip is self-explanatory by showing off officials getting out of the high-performance hybrid coupe and taking a walk around it. With a total output of a mere 357 horsepower, the i8 is practically the economy entry in the Dubai Police fleet that includes a Bugatti Veyron and McLaren MP4-12C. BMW readying impressive track-focused M Power App
Thu, 06 Jun 2013There are a lot of questionable automotive apps that people put on their smartphones these days, but BMW has created what could be one of the most useful and integrated car apps ever. The new M Power App, which will be available this summer only for Apple iPhones, allows BMW owners a whole new way to record their performance on the street or on a track. During the launch of the recent BMW M6 Gran Coupe, BimmerPost was able to get a full demonstration of how this new app works.
Far more involved than the current M Power Meter, the M Power App records data from in-car sensors and acts as a telemetry tool to allow drivers to see how they did on a particular track. Aside from an overlay on a track map showing acceleration and braking applications as well as head-to-head comparisons, the app also shows a line graph of everything from brake and throttle inputs to g-force, fuel mileage and engine speed. A small visual on the screen also shows steering angle, and lap times and speeds can all be stored as well. The data can even be shared with others, whether for bragging rights or instruction purposes.
This app works on any newer BMW equipped with the BMW Apps option, but the phone must be tethered to the car and the data understandably cannot be viewed while driving. Scroll down for the video demonstration recorded recently at Austin's Circuit of the Americas.
American motorcycle brands most satisfying, Japanese most reliable, says Consumer Reports
Fri, Apr 10 2015Consumer Reports started tracking motorcycle reliability last year through its regular reader survey, just like the magazine's well-known auto guide. For the 2015 edition, CR now has data on over 12,300 bikes, compared to 4,680 in 2014, and the extra info means it can include more brands, like Suzuki, Triumph and Can-Am, to the list. However, the final results remain largely the same. As with last year, Japanese bikes are the best choice for buyers who prioritize reliability. Yamaha comes out on top yet again and is followed by Suzuki, Kawasaki and Honda. Victory and Harley-Davidson hold the middle of the list, and the European cycles from Triumph, Ducati and BMW sit at the bottom. The major outlier in this regional distinction is the Can-Am Spyder from Canada's Bombardier Recreational Products that comes in dead last in the dependability survey. Still, even the most dependable model is occasionally going to break, and the average repair bill across all brands is $342, according to CR's readers. Kawasakis are the cheapest to keep on the road at a median of $269 for fixes, versus BMW as the most expensive at $455. Through all of the companies, electrical gremlins are the most common issue, causing 24 percent of problems, but faults with the cooling system, pistons or transmission are the smallest concerns at 4 percent each. While Japanese cycles might be the easiest to keep on the road, they aren't the most beloved by riders. In CR's gauge of satisfaction, the Americans reign supreme. Victory owners love their bikes the most with 80 percent reporting that they would buy another. Harley riders are known for having a close bond to the company's models, and the brand comes in second with 72 percent. Finally, Honda rounds out the top three at 70 percent.
