The interior is a 9.5 out of 10."

This is a 2001 BMW M ROADSTER. It is in excelent condition inside and out. It would be really hard to find one in better condition. The exterior is a 9.5 out of 10  and the interior is also a 9.5 out of 10. The paint on the car  is 9.7 out of 10. The rims are 9.9 out of 10. Tires only have a few a couple thousand miles on them. Bridgestone  RE01R. It has been well cared for. It has recieved oil changes every 1,000 miles(Castol 10/60)  and always garaged. It is a very rare car. BMW only made the (Z3 style/E36) M Roadster with the 315 horse power S54 engine for two years, 2001 and 2002. Before these years the M Roadster only had 240HP and was much slower. In fact the 2001 and 2002 M Roadsters were the fastest M Roadsters made. They were faster than the Z4 M Roadsters and even the newest twin turbo Z4's and only a few 10ths of a second slower than the ultra rare Z8. In 2001 October Motor Trend the M Roadster beat the Corvette in all acceleration tests and braking tests.  BMW only made four M Roadsters that were Classic white, with Imola Red interior Classic Red Top and the S54 315hp engine. This is the only 2001 M Roadster with this color combo in exsistance. If you look on Ebay you will see that the 2001 and 2002 M Roadsters are selling for over $20,000. This car is a tremendous bargain. I have original owners manual, tonnau cover(leather cover for top while down), and wind deflector that goes between roll bars. I did install H&R lowering spring, which give the car a more agressive look. The ride feels really close to factory but due to it being lowered it handles much better. I have the original springs also. It was involved in a very minor accident, but don't let that scare you.  I have a picture so you can see how minor the damage was. I also, have pictures of the car before the accident. So you can see how perfect it was before. The 9th picture is when I bought car. The 10th picture is what the car looked like after a nice elderly woman decided to hit the front corner of the car. Also, be careful alot of the vehicles that apppear to have never been into accidents, according to car fax, have. The owner just pays to fix it themself's so it is not reported by the insurance to Car Fax. This happened to me before when I flew thousands of miles to by a "accident free Porsche". When I got their the car had obvious signs of front damage repair. I am a honest person and try to describe the items I sell as accuratly as possible. The only issue with the car is that when the car get up to operating temperature the transmission take's extra effort to change gears. Its not bad if you are just driving around town, but if you take the car on the highway for a hour or so you will notice that the shifter gets even harder to engage. I had it inspected by a BMW certified mechanic. I was told it was the shift pins and the shift pin bushings. BMW was aware of this issue but only covered it for free if the issue started before the vehicle hit 50,000 miles or with in five years from date of purchase. I got an estimate for the parts from my local BMW dealership which was $156.85(I have copy). They told me the labor would be around $1,000 to remove the transmission and install the new shift pins. We all know the dealership is the most expensive place to get your vehicle repaired, so I am sure other BMW repair shops can do it for cheaper. Another option is to buy a used transmission off ebay which are around $600-800.  I was going to have the shift pins replaced because I know my transmission was well taken care of. So I figured I would replace the clutch while the transmission was out. Even though the car does not need a clutch at this time. I figured it would be good preventative maintenance and save me some money down the road. So I have a new Sachs clutch for the car also. I have adjusted the price of the car do to this fact that it needs these repairs. The only other issues are very minor. The driver door lock just turns when the key is installed, so I have been using the trunk key hole to unlock car(all doors open when using trunk key hole). One day when I was opening door it made a poping noise and just started spining. Their is no resistance when turning the drivers door lock so its probably just a clip fell off or something of that nature. I also have new EBC green stuff brake pads (front & rear)for the vehicle. The brakes are starting to pulsate slightly, but are not making any noise. The passenger plastic clip that holds seat belt to seat has a crack but is still functional. They are around $60  for a new one. The thin black trim peace around the back window is coming loose. It could easily be repaired by trim shop. It just started coming loose about two weeks ago. Everything else works properly. The only reason I'm not fixing the car myself is because I have some medical issues and I am no longer able to work full time. If you have any questions feel free to emial me. You will not be disapionted. This is a great deal. You won't find a M Roadster this nice for any were close to this price.  I reserve the right to end this listing at any time should the vehicle be no longer available do to local sale. Please ask questions before bidding.Serious inquiries only. If you don't have the money, please dont make a offer or buy now.

BMW i3 takes to the track, circles it in a way you don't expect

Sun, Jan 5 2014

So, who wants to see a BMW i3 race around a track. That's what we thought. It's not a long video, but it is entertaining, and the way the urban EV does a 'loop' at second 25 certainly caught out eye. The i3 is scheduled to go on sale in the US later this year and will start at $41,350. The diminutive electric vehicle has a top speed of 93 miles per hour and can hit 62 mph in 7.2 seconds. We found it a hoot to drive, but we're not sure if hardcore BMW performance fans will totally 'get' this car's performance. The i3 is great at what it does, but it wasn't born to hit the race track. After seeing this video, though, we want a crack at it, skinny wheels and all. You can get a behind-the-scenes glimpse here, where Chris Neff writes, "The i3 basically turns in on itself. This is one sharp turning radius, take a look at 24 seconds into the video. We were actually trying to get the i3 to do doughnuts, but the computer would not let the rear brake loose, still, you can see how it held and how sharp we were turning....about 27 times in a row." Watch all 49 seconds below. And wonder with us if whatever aerial device was used to get the shot that ends at four seconds in was destroyed just after the video cuts away.

BMW slapped with discrimination suit by EEOC

Thu, 13 Jun 2013

According to a report from CNNMoney, BMW has been hit with a lawsuit from the US Equal Employment Opportunity Commission after revised criminal background check policies resulted in the dismissal of 88 contractors, 70 of whom (that's about 80 percent) were black. A total of 645 contractors were required to submit to background checks at BMW's facility in Spartanburg, South Carolina after BMW switched contract companies at its plant.
Though the 88 persons who were not rehired by the new contractor all had criminal records, that may not necessarily be a legal way to screen applicants, as the EEOC counters: "BMW's policy has no time limit with regard to convictions. The policy is a blanket exclusion without any individualized assessment of the nature and gravity of the crimes, the ages of the convictions, or the nature of the claimants' respective positions."
BMW's actions were in violation of the Civic Rights Act of 1964, according to the EEOC, because they utilized "a criminal conviction policy that disproportionately screened out African-Americans." A recent bulletin offering guidance from the EEOC on the Civil Rights Act can be found here, but the EEOC's stance on the issue has been the same for years: "Since issuing its first written policy guidance in the 1980s regarding the use of arrest and conviction records in employment decisions, the EEOC has advised employers that under certain circumstances, their use of that information to deny employment opportunities could be at odds with Title VII."

BMW 4 Series Gran Coupe spotted wearing minimal camo, M Sport pack

Mon, 14 Oct 2013

The new BMW 4 Series is essentially the coupe version of the latest 3 Series. So it would stand to reason that the four-door version of the 4 Series, in turn, would be the 3 Series - right? Well, yes and no.
Just as BMW offers both a 5 Series sedan and a four-door version of the 6 Series called the Gran Coupe, so, too, will its 4-Series family expand. So following the release of the new 4 Series Convertible, here we have the latest batch of spy shots showing the upcoming 4 Series Gran Coupe - which in turn should not be confused with the hunchbacked 3 Series Gran Turismo, which is more of a sporty wagon than a four-door coupe.
The nearly ready test vehicle pictured here is wearing only minimal camouflage to hide some last few details, but also appears to be wearing the M Sport package that will bridge the gap (at least, visually speaking) between the base models and the M4 Gran Coupe that is all but certain to follow.
